The night sky trembled.
Cloudpierce Pavilion stood silent as a graveyard while the distant horns boomed again — a deep, ancient, warlike cry that hadn't echoed in the mortal realm for thousands of years.
BOOOOOM… BOOOOOM… BOOOOOM…
Each blast felt like it shook the bones inside every living being.
Bai Yefeng gripped his sword so tightly his knuckles whitened.
Feng Qingyue stepped beside Shan Wei, flames licking her palms unconsciously.
Ling Xueyao's cold domain spread instinctively, frost crawling along the tiles.
Drakonix crouched low, wings flaring slightly.
Jin Wei's runes lit up like molten lava ready to burst.
And Qi Longye…
…closed his eyes.
As if accepting something inevitable.
Shan Wei swallowed the lump in his throat.
"Uncle… who are they really?"
Qi Longye's voice was calm, but weighted.
"The Beastbone Legion," he said quietly. "A clan once blessed by ancient beast gods… then cursed for betraying fate."
He turned toward the eastern horizon, where a glow was rising.
"Sentenced to eternal undeath until the Heaven-Breaker appears."
Shan Wei stiffened.
"They came… because of me?"
"No."Qi Longye's eyes hardened.
"They came because you are the key to their final resurrection."
The Earth Splits Open
CRRRRRAAAAACK—!!!
The entire eastern ridge split apart like broken pottery.
Flashes of sickly green light burst from fissures spiraling across the mountain range.
And from those cracks…
…they crawled out.
Hulking bone beasts shaped like tigers and wolves.Humanoid warriors with ribcage armor fused to their flesh.Giant skeletal serpents slithering over boulders.Six-legged bone constructs with glowing sockets for eyes.
Hundreds.
Then thousands.
Their combined killing intent darkened the sky.
Qingyue gasped.
"This… this isn't an army…"
Xueyao finished, voice trembling only slightly.
"It's a calamity."
Shan Wei tried to steady his breath."Are they undead?"
"No," Qi Longye said."They're worse."
He pointed at the nearest creature — a skeletal tiger with blue flames in its mouth.
Its movements were too fluid.Too intelligent.Too alive.
"They are the living remnants of the Beast God War."Longye's eyes narrowed."Creatures that refused to die."
The Leader Appears
A shadow rose behind the legion.
A giant.
No—A monster wearing a war-chief's armor made of ancient beast bones.
Standing nearly five meters tall, with horns spiraling from his skull helm, wielding a bone greatsword thicker than a man's torso.
Flames burned inside his ribcage.
Pure pressure rolled off him like a tidal wave.
Bone Sovereign Ka'Rath.
Qi Longye's expression darkened.
"So he escaped the seal…"
Shan Wei's heart pounded.
"That's Ka'Rath?"
Longye nodded.
"A tyrant who devoured beast cores for power. The one who led the rebellion that nearly destroyed the Beast God Realm."
The giant warlord stomped forward. The mountain shook.
THOOM.THOOM.THOOM.
He raised his blade and pointed it directly at Shan Wei.
His voice thundered like an earthquake.
"HEAVEN-BREAKER!"
Everyone froze.
"You carry the mark of the ancient flame… the fragment of the lost star… the blood of forbidden lineage!"
His eyes blazed molten blue.
"You will come with me. Alive."
Shan Wei swallowed.
"Alive… why?"
Ka'Rath slammed his greatsword into the ground.
BOOOOOM—!!
A shockwave blasted outward, hurling dust and stones in every direction.
He roared:
"SO WE MAY DEVOUR YOUR DESTINY…AND REWRITE OUR OWN!"
Shan Wei stepped back, stunned.
"They want to consume… my destiny?"
Longye nodded grimly.
"They believe eating the Heaven-Breaker's fate can lift their curse. Make them immortal."
Qingyue snarled.
"So they want to EAT Shan Wei?! Over my dead body!"
Drakonix screeched with fury, flames spitting from his wings.
Jin Wei stepped in front of Shan Wei, towering like a golden wall.
"MASTER THREAT LEVEL: EXTREME.DEFENSE MODE: ENGAGED."
Battle Ignites
Ka'Rath lifted a massive bone horn.
HOOOOOOOOOOO—!!
The entire legion howled in unison.
The first wave charged.
"Brace yourselves!" Shan Wei shouted.
Undead-beast hybrids surged up the mountain path like a tsunami of claws and bone.
Xueyao moved first—
SHING—!!!
Her sword unleashed a crescent of frost so cold it froze the ground solid.
CRACK—!!!
Beasts shattered mid-charge, freezing in place before exploding into frost shards.
Qingyue followed—
WHOOOOSH—!!
Phoenix flames erupted, mixing with moonfire into blinding azure infernos.
Beasts screamed as they melted into pools of bone.
Bai Yefeng leapt into the fray with perfect precision.
Each slash disintegrated a bone warrior's limbs. Each step was calculated.
But the wave didn't stop.
It doubled.
Tripled.
"Incoming from the northeast!" an elder shouted.
Another wave surged.
Shan Wei's heart raced.
They were getting surrounded.
Drakonix's First Real Battle
Drakonix's wings flared wide.
Fires erupted around him in seven shifting colours.
FWWWWWOOOOOOOSH—!!!!
He launched into the air, diving into the thickest part of the battle.
"FWRRRAAAAAA!!"
A stream of Prismatic Nirvana Flame exploded from his mouth, covering a hundred-meter arc.
Bone beasts shrieked, melting instantly.
Even stone melted.
Even the AIR shimmered.
Qingyue's jaw dropped.
"…He's a monster."
Xueyao muttered:
"A beautiful monster."
Drakonix screeched proudly.
But Ka'Rath only laughed.
"Foolish hatchling!"
He slammed his fist into the ground.
Necrotic waves rippled outward.
Drakonix was blasted from the air—
WHAAAAM—!!!
Shan Wei screamed, "DRANKONIX!"
Drakonix rolled, wings flaring just in time to avoid being crushed.
His eyes narrowed, fury burning hotter.
He took back to the sky—but slower.
Shan Wei clenched his fists.
He's not fully used to his new form yet…
Jin Wei Enters the Fray
The second wave hit like a hammer.
Shan Wei was about to command the elders to fall back—
When Jin Wei's eyes lit with blinding gold.
"MASTER IN DANGER.ENGAGING COMBAT PROTOCOL: ALPHA."
His arm extended—shifting—
Transforming—
SHHHHHHRRZTTTT—!!
A massive golden blade replaced his forearm.
Jin Wei blurred forward with earth-shaking speed.
BOOOOM—!!!
One bone warrior exploded into fragments.
BOOOOOM—!!!
A second.
BOOOOOOOOM—!!!
A third, fourth, fifth—
His movements were no longer slow or damaged.
He moved like a revenant of war.As if remembering who he once was.
Shan Wei stared in awe.
"This… this isn't just repairing—"
Qi Longye whispered:
"His instincts are awakening."
Ka'Rath Joins the Battle
Ka'Rath lifted his sword, runes glowing acidic blue.
"ENOUGH."
He vanished.
Shan Wei blinked—
Ka'Rath reappeared directly in front of him.
Sword already descending.
CRRAAAAAAAAAASH—!!!!
Shan Wei's world turned white.
But Jin Wei appeared between them in the blink of an eye.
CLAAAAAANG—!!!
The force sent shockwaves that cracked the courtyard stones.
Jin Wei fell to one knee, armor fracturing—
But he didn't yield.
"MASTER… MUST… LIVE."
Ka'Rath snarled.
"You defend him? Then you die first."
He raised his blade—
"NO YOU DON'T!" Shan Wei roared, summoning flame and lightning—
But he wasn't fast enough.
Xueyao leaped in with a cold lotus domain—
Qingyue blasted moonfire—
Bai Yefeng's sword flashed—
Drakonix screamed in rage—
And yet—
Ka'Rath smashed them all back with one casual sweep.
They crashed into pillars and walls.
Blood splattered stone.
Shan Wei staggered.
This strength…He's beyond anything we've faced.
Even Drakonix trembled, wings shivering instinctively.
"Fweeee…!"
Shan Wei shouted:
"Everyone regroup! Form up!"
But Ka'Rath didn't even give them time.
His aura expanded—
And space cracked.
Qi Longye Reveals His Forbidden Power
Ka'Rath laughed cruelly.
"Small humans. Small beasts. Small toys. None of you matter."
He lifted his sword again.
Shan Wei stepped in front of everyone.
"If you want someone—take me."
Xueyao froze.
Qingyue's eyes widened in panic.
Drakonix screeched and tried to grab him, desperate.
"FWRRREEEE!!??"
Ka'Rath smirked.
"With pleasure."
He swung—
And that was when Qi Longye moved.
He raised a single finger.
The world went silent.
Wind curled around him in four spiraling layers—each with a different texture.
One sharp as blades. One soft as whispers. One swirling like storms. One heavy like fate itself.
Ka'Rath's swing stopped mid-air.
Impossible.
Everyone stared.
Ling Xueyao whispered:
"That… that's…"
Qingyue's flames flickered violently.
"That's a Dao I've never seen."
Qi Longye opened his eyes.
And the air cracked with power.
"I am the Second Wind," he said quietly."And I will not let you take him."
Ka'Rath roared.
"YOU—HUMAN— CANNOT—STOP—ME—!!"
He pulled down with all his might.
Qi Longye didn't move.
The bone greatsword shattered.
Ka'Rath's eyes widened in shock.
Qi Longye whispered:
"Four Winds… First Restriction."
He flicked his finger—
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM—!!!!
Ka'Rath was blasted hundreds of meters away, slamming into the mountainside and burying half the army beneath rubble.
The entire battlefield froze.
Shan Wei stared at his uncle.
"Uncle… what are you?"
Qi Longye turned to him, eyes dimming.
"I am someone Heaven tried to erase."
He swayed—
Then coughed blood.
"Uncle!"
Longye collapsed to one knee.
Xueyao rushed to his side.
"His meridians are… damaged. Severely."
Qingyue added:
"That power… was too much for his body."
Longye smiled weakly.
"It always is."
Shan Wei grabbed his arm.
"Why use it?! You're injured!"
Longye looked at him with fierce, unbreakable pride.
"Because you… are worth protecting."
Shan Wei froze, emotion stabbing through him.
But then—
The mountain trembled.
Ka'Rath rose from the rubble.
His body cracked, broken—
But alive.
And laughing.
"FOUR WINDS…FOUR PROPHECIES…FOUR FATES…"
He pointed at Shan Wei.
"THE THIRD WIND HAS ALREADY AWAKENED."
Shan Wei's blood turned to ice.
"The Calamity Heir…?"
Ka'Rath grinned, teeth glowing blue.
"He is coming for you."
He lifted a burning sigil over his head.
It pulsed once—
Twice—
And shot into the sky like a beacon.
Qi Longye's eyes widened in horror.
"…NO. THE SIGNAL—"
Ka'Rath roared one last time:
"THE CALAMITY HEIR KNOWS YOUR NAME, QI SHAN WEI!"
And then he exploded into ash.
Silence fell over the battlefield.
Shan Wei's heart pounded.
Everyone stared at him, shaken.
The Calamity Heir…
…now knew where he was.
