Chapter 49 - CHAPTER 31 — Part 13 — Fate-Splitter: Shan Wei’s First Counterstrike

The air froze.

Not from Xueya's frost.

Not from the environment.

But from fear.

Fear that spread through the Devourer's bones.Through the Serpent's scales.Through even the Heir's pale mask.

Because Qi Shan Wei's eyes—those glowing, fate-threaded white eyes—were looking directly at him.

Not with rage. Not with confusion. Not with defiance.

But with calm promise.

A promise that terrified even a child of Calamity.

"Touch them," Shan Wei breathed,"and I will break your destiny."

The words weren't loud.

But they echoed like ancient verdicts across the Frozen Chasm.

1. The Heir Senses a Threat He Cannot Explain

For the very first time…

The Calamity Heir took a step back.

Just one.

Barely visible.

But enough to send a shock through the two Zone Kings.

The Devourer growled nervously.

The Serpent recoiled, chains rattling in fear.

Yue Lian whispered:

"…He stepped back.A Zone King stepped back…"

The Empress's eyes widened.

"He didn't step back from the blast…but he stepped back from Shan Wei."

The Heir's voice remained cold—but now with a slight tremor.

"Impossible. You should barely be alive.Your soul should be dust.Your fate should be erased."

Shan Wei exhaled slowly.

Snow parted around him.

Prismatic threads floated around his body like living runes.

"I do not exist by your rules."

The Heir clenched his teeth.

"This is not how fate works."

Shan Wei tilted his head, voice calm:

"Then learn."

2. Xueya's Lunar Frost Evolves — Galaxy Bloom

Still holding Shan Wei upright, Xueya trembled.

Not in fear.

In awakening.

Her lunar veins blazed silver-blue.Her frost lotus mark expanded across her chest. Her moon behind her elongated—not a perfect circle anymore—but elliptical.

A galaxy disk.

Yue Lian felt her knees weaken.

"Her Domain…it's evolving again—?!"

The Empress was shaking.

"That isn't a Domain anymore.That's an incipient awakened law.The Lunar Frost Galaxy…!"

Xueya didn't seem to hear anything.

Her heart pressed closer to Shan Wei's.

She whispered against his cheek:

"I won't let them touch you."

The galaxy-shaped frost behind her pulsed.

Snow spiraled into star-pattern rings.

Even the Heir's eyes flicked toward it.

"…Her potential…is troublesome."

For the first time—

Shan Wei smiled faintly.

"Xueya.Step back."

She froze.

"But—"

"Just for a moment.I need a clear path."

His hand brushed her cheek.

Her breath stopped.

Her heart skipped.

The frost galaxy dimmed slightly—

just enough for him to move forward.

She obeyed.

But the moment she stepped back—

the ice around her feet shattered into stars.

3. Jin Wei Activates Emergency Overclock Mode

Jin Wei's cracked form stood behind Shan Wei.

Golden liquid metal dripped from his armor gaps.

His runes flickered like dying embers.

Yet—

As Shan Wei stepped forward—

Jin Wei straightened.

His core pulsed once.

Then—

"ARCANE OVERRIDE—ENGAGED."

Yue Lian screamed in horror.

"No—Jin Wei—NO—!!Your core will break—!"

The Empress grabbed her shoulders.

"It's too late.Overclock Mode has already begun."

Jin Wei's plates opened—

revealing glowing red gears spinning at impossible speed.

"MASTER THREAT: CRITICAL.OVERCLOCK LEVEL: 200%.SELF-DESTRUCTION RISK: 98%."

Yue Lian cried out:

"STOP—!!YOU'LL DIE—!!!"

Jin Wei's head lowered.

A reverent machine-kneel.

"MASTER SURVIVAL = PRIORITY ZERO."

The puppet prepared to charge.

4. Drakonix's Nirvana Cocoon Begins to Shake

Behind them, the prismatic cocoon trembled.

A pulse.

A second pulse.

A third.

The Empress's face went pale.

"That rate…That is not normal Nirvana."

Yue Lian's eyes widened.

"What does that mean—!?"

The Empress whispered, horrified:

"It means whatever is trying to awaken inside…is too powerful for this realm."

A crack formed on the cocoon's surface.

Prismatic flames leaked out.

Reality warped around it.

If the cocoon ruptured—

The entire chasm might collapse.

Yet Shan Wei did not turn.

He trusted Drakonix would survive…

as long as he did.

5. The Heir Decides — "Enough."

The Heir spoke softly.

Soft words that carried death.

"I tire of this anomaly."

He extended a hand.

Calamity law spiraled into a needle of pure obliteration.

"Let us end your deviation."

He raised his hand—

and time bent.

Xueya gasped.

Yue Lian stepped back in fear.

The Empress screamed:

"That's a Fate-Piercing Law—SHAN WEI, MOVE—!!"

But Shan Wei did not move back.

He moved forward.

One step.

Two steps.

His aura rising with every heartbeat.

The Heir narrowed his eyes.

"You dare to advance toward me?"

Shan Wei raised his hand.

Prismatic threads swirled around his fingertips.

"I do not fear fate."

His voice deepened.

"I cut it."

6. Qi Shan Wei Uses Fate Severance for the First Time

A prismatic blade of light formed in front of him—

Not qi.Not weapon.Not flame.

A law.

His law.

A blade woven from:

Prismatic glow

Fate threads

Void resonance

Ice stillness

Lightning flickers

Shadow distortion

Life pulse

Light radiance

A blade of seven laws and one destiny.

The Heir froze.

"You—You can't possibly be invoking—"

Shan Wei whispered the name.

"Fate Severance."

The entire world inhaled.

The Heir thrust his Fate-Piercing Needle.

Shan Wei swung his blade.

And the universe—

split.

The Frozen Chasm's sky cracked down the middle, as if a god had sliced the heavens.

The Heir's needle shattered into dust.

The Serpent screamed in agony.

The Devourer fell to one knee.

The Heir stepped back again—

this time visibly.

A cut appeared on his hand.Thin.Simple.But bleeding with cosmic ichor.

He stared at it in disbelief.

"…No mortal should be able to wound me."

Shan Wei did not stop walking forward.

7. Shan Wei's Threat Becomes Law

He walked past the shockwave.Past the collapsing ice.Past the terrified Zone Kings.

Each step bent the snow around him into prismatic spirals.

He looked directly at the Heir.

His faint smile returned.

A calm, terrifying smile.

"You touched my fate."

The Heir's jaw clenched.

Shan Wei's voice deepened.

"You threatened my people."

The Heir's aura trembled.

Shan Wei's blade lifted.

"And now you will understand what that costs."

The Heir inhaled sharply.

"…You are not supposed to exist."

Shan Wei finally answered with full resolve:

"Then I will exist louder."

8. The Heir Retreats — Unthinkable

The Serpent's chains rattled violently.

The Devourer backed away.

The Heir's eyes narrowed—rage, calculation, and something like fear swirling inside.

He finally spoke:

"…This world is unstable."

He stepped back.

"…You are unstable."

Another step.

"…Your destiny does not belong here."

Another.

Then he gave his verdict:

"I will return when you break."

His body decayed into black dust. The Devourer dissolved into bone mist. The Serpent collapsed into ink and vanished.

The calamity presence faded—

Leaving only silence.

And the sound of Shan Wei's forging heartbeat.

9. Shan Wei Collapses—But Not in Defeat

The moment the Heir vanished—

Shan Wei's blade evaporated. His prismatic glow dimmed. His soul anvil cracked behind him.

And he stumbled.

Xueya lunged, catching him in her arms.

"SHAN WEI—!!"

Her voice broke as she held him to her chest.

His breath was shallow. His eyes faded back to gold.Blood dripped from his lip.

But his hand lifted weakly—

and brushed her cheek.

"I'm… still here."

Her eyes trembled.

"You… idiot…"

She buried her forehead into his shoulder, tears freezing instantly.

Behind them—

Jin Wei collapsed, smoke pouring from his body.

The Empress rushed to him.

"Jin Wei—stay together—!"

The puppet's voice was a whisper.

MASTER…SAFE.MISSION…SUCCESS.

Yue Lian cried out:

"He's shutting down—!!"

A second crack echoed.

Everyone turned—

To see Drakonix's cocoon splitting open.

A blinding prismatic light poured out.

And a new roar—older, deeper, more powerful—echoed across the Frozen Chasm.
