CHAPTER 66 – Gu Breaks Into the Digital Realm
The white, infinite digital world trembled violently, groaning under the immense, unauthorized pressure.
Code shattered like glass against an invisible barrier, and sheets of pure white light cracked open the sterile void.
Static rippled across the empty, cold floor like shockwaves.
The hacker staggered back, his face a mask of shock and disbelief.
"What—? That's impossible! No external code can breach the root firewall of this magnitude!"
A booming, tectonic crash cut through the System, deafening in its digital intensity.
Xiao Xi shielded her eyes as the entire wall of scrolling code—the theoretical boundary of the System—exploded outward, dissolving into cascading particles.
Gu Yanzhou stepped through the breach.
His body was unstable, flickering violently like static electricity, pieces of raw data floating around him like digital snow.
He was a force of pure will and foreign code. But he stood tall, his jaw clenched in absolute fury, his eyes blazing with the heat of his protective rage.
He had forced himself, a sentient character, to become raw data and breach the core of his own reality.
"Xiao Xi."
Her knees nearly gave out beneath her.
"Yanzhou—how did you—?"
He crossed the space in two furious, flickering steps, ignoring the debris of shattered code, and grabbed her hand, his digital touch surprisingly solid.
"I told you," he said, his voice trembling with effort and fierce emotion.
"I will ALWAYS come back for you.
There is no world, digital or real, where I let you go."
The hacker snarled, his face contorting in a mask of defeat and rage.
"You don't belong here! You are a fictional character! You are data!"
Gu didn't even glance at him.
He pulled Xiao Xi firmly behind him, shielding her completely with his own unstable, flickering body.
"You really thought a corporate firewall and a few deleted lines of code could stop me?" Gu said, his voice cold and lethal.
"You underestimate my resolve.
You underestimate my love."
The entire digital world shook violently in response to the raw, destabilizing force of Gu's declaration.
Even the hacker visibly flinched, recognizing the power of the merged anomaly.
Gu tightened his grip on Xiao Xi's hand, anchoring himself to her.
"Let's finish this, you ghost."
