Chapter 126 - Luke and Stuart

Luke and Stuart tore through the ruins of Perfect City in a black armored sports car, the engine roaring like a beast. Luke drifted around corners at high speed while Stuart clung to the door handle for dear life."Luke—slow down!" Stuart yelled. Luke just smirked and pushed the engine harder. Then Stuart pointed ahead. "Look! A fire!" A small bonfire burned in the middle of the road, lighting up the dark night with an eerie glow. Luke slammed the brakes, hopped out, and knelt beside the flames. Stuart followed, scanning the empty streets."You think people are close by?" Stuart whispered. Luke looked around. Nothing but tall weeds, overturned cars, and broken buildings. The night was so silent he could hear the wind whisper through the ruins. He walked back to the trunk, grabbed a flare gun, and fired it down the long road. The flare lit up the darkness And something massive moved.A huge gorilla‑like creature, covered in bone armor, charged out of the shadows. It was enormous ten feet tall, muscles bulging, bones fused to its body like natural armor."Luke!" Stuart shouted. Luke grabbed an AR‑15 with a 100‑round drum and opened fire. The rounds tore into the creature, but it didn't slow down. It smashed aside cars and debris like they were toys."Stuart, get in the car!" Luke yelled. They dove into the sports car. Luke floored it just as the gorilla slammed its fist down, barely missing them. The car shot forward, dust exploding behind them. Luke checked the mirror. The creature wasn't chasing. He let out a breath. "That was close." Stuart, still shaking, nodded. "Yeah… too close." Luke glanced back again—

And froze. The gorilla lifted a wrecked car above its head. It spun it once. Twice. Three times. "What is he—"WHOOSH—CRASH! The thrown car flew through the air like a missile and landed perfectly on top of Luke and Stuart's vehicle. The impact sent them spinning out of control. Luke lost the wheel. The sports car slammed head‑first into a concrete building. The world went silent. Luke's head rested against the steering wheel. His vision blurred. He turned his head and saw Stuart limp, blood dripping from his mouth, unmoving. "Stuart…" Luke whispered. Before he could reach him, the airbag exploded in his face. Already dazed, the force knocked Luke unconscious instantly. And there they remained.
