The night sky swallowed Azazel as he flew, wings cutting through the darkness like blades. Below him, scattered bonfires flickered some demons, some human survivors clinging to whatever scraps of life remained. Azazel watched them with cold curiosity. Humans… always have to rebuild. Always has to crawl back from the ashes. A repeating cycle. A curse.
Or perhaps… the curse is simply that the ruler of this world is evil. Azazel descended toward a dim orange glow in the ruins of New Sodom. The air smelled of smoke, rot, and old acts of evil. Azazel landed with elegant silence. Four demons sat around the fire each a different shape, each wearing a different type of mask with glowing white eyes. Their teeth gleamed like razors when they smiled. One of them hissed, "Azazel… what a surprise. Dropping in for dinner?" The only one without a mask just a round hat that covered his eyes. Azazel glanced at the remains beside them a human arm, a half‑eaten leg, scraps of flesh. He ignored it."I came to give you a mission. One that pays well."A demon crawled closer, moving like a chimpanzee, knuckles dragging across the dirt it was wearing a monkey mask. The other two paused their chewing,One had a dog mask like a german shepard and the other larger had a bear mask, they were watching Azazel with hungry interest. The one with the round hat asked, "What's the mission, my lord?" Azazel's eyes narrowed. "Moloch. He's alive. And he needs to go extinct." The demons froze."Moloch… returned?" the bear mask one whispered.
Then a grin spread beneath the round hat. "Don't worry, my lord. We'll handle him. My boy can smell any creature on Earth."Azazel nodded once."I know your talents. That's why I came to you… Unholy Ones." The lead demon chuckled, delighted. "You remember our name. I'm touched." Azazel felt a chill not fear, but disgust.
These demons were powerful but Azazel knows, They were wrong. Twisted. Earned their name through horrors even demons whispered about. He hated their kind."That's all," Azazel said, lifting off the ground. In a blink, he vanished into the night. The monkey mask demon watched him disappear, then turned to the others."Pa… we got a job?" The round hat demon started stretching, bones cracking. "Boys… get your sister."
All you can see was a wicked smile that spread under the lid of the round hat.. "We got work to do. And you know I liketo be known for fast service."
