Pa walked in front of the group, moving with the calm stride of a man but his children were anything but human. Jr skittered beside him, knuckles scraping the ground, climbing rocks and walls like a chimpanzee. His monkey mask gleamed in the dim cave light. Roger trotted ahead on all fours, sniffing the air like a trained German shepherd, tail wagging energy in a demon's body. Bear lumbered behind them, massive, slow, powerful his bear mask shaped into a permanent snarl. And then there was Angel. Beautiful. But has a atitude.
Her small horns shimmered faintly, and her expression showed nothing but boredom. They entered the cave where Azazel had confronted Moloch. The golden bull statue stood in the center, arms extended as if waiting for a sacrifice. Pa scanned the room.
"Roger, see if you can pick up any scents."Angel sighed dramatically. "Can't you call me when you already found him?" Pa chuckled. "Come now, darling. You know the chase is the fun part." Jr jumped from rock to rock. "Yeah, Pa! The chase is fun!"Bear grunted. "Pa… I think I found something." Pa walked over.
Bear held a book worn, torn, pages missing. A ritual manual. Pa flipped through it. "To summon an entity of this caliber…"it showed what Ingredients. Symbols. And step by step. But a entire section were ripped out. Pa frowned.
"Odd. How do you perform a ritual when there are pages missing?"Jr held up a handful of small jars filled with strange liquids. "Pa! Spells!" Pa nodded. "Good job, Jr. Take them." Roger suddenly barked loud, sharp, urgent. Pa rushed over.
"What is it, boy?"Roger sniffed the ground, then the air. "I found a scent. And a trail." Pa's eyes lit up. "No time to lose. Follow it, boy." Roger sprinted out of the cave on all fours, fast as a hunting dog. Jr giggled and leapt after him, swinging from tree to tree. Pa and the rest of the family followed at a calm pace, enjoying the quiet forest as Pa monstrous children tore through it ahead.
