Chapter 209 - CHAPTER 74 The Threshold of Destiny

CHAPTER 74 The Threshold of Destiny and the Final Legacy

The night of Prakashgadh had now reached its most delicate moment. The glow of the celebration, which just hours ago had made the palace alive, had now turned into a spiritual calm. A calm filled with pain, like a deep wound that no longer hurts, just numbs.

On the huge rooftop of the palace, two opposite forces were present together. On one side, the purple haze of the void was hovering in the northern sky. A living, breathing darkness growing bigger every moment, like a giant beast opening its mouth. On the other side, a faint, divine aura was beginning to emanate from Agni and Neer bodies. Golden and blue rays swirling around them, weaving into each other.

Everyone was awake now. There was no sleep in anyone eyes. Just a deep, heavy awareness. Akshansh breaths were short, as if counting every breath. Vedika had her hand over her mouth, as if holding back a scream. Anvay had pulled Nirag close, his arm around his shoulders. A protective, brotherly touch. Aksh and Kalpit stood shoulder to shoulder, the same expression on both their faces. The fear of losing loved ones, and the attempt to fight that fear.

Vishrayan Guidance and Manifestation of Elements

Margdarshak Vishrayan raised his staff. He struck it on the ground. A faint, echoing sound, as if an ancient bell had rung. The sound created a vibration in the air, passing through everyones bodies.

Agni, Neer, Margdarshak voice was like the whisper of an old tree. The time is near. Your human bodies can no longer bear the weight of the elements. The power within you wants to come out of this body. Now is the time for you to give to your successors what will keep you connected to this earth. What will keep your memory alive.

Agni and Neer looked at each other. There were no words in their eyes, just an understanding. An understanding that had been going on for centuries. They came to the center holding hands.

Just then, flames of fire began to dance around Agni. But this was not the fire that burns. It was golden, cool, like the first rays of the sun. The flames waved in the air, from which not sparks, but golden dots emerged, floating in the air and falling to the ground and disappearing.

On the other side, streams of water began to flow from Neer feet. They were not coming from the earth, but from his body. Clean, blue streams floating in the air, forming a circle. Drops of water hanging in the air, every drop having a moonlight like sparkle.

Aksh and Kalpit Receive Blessings

First, Aksh and Kalpit came forward. Both had gone from warriors to ascetics, but today the disciple inside them had awakened again. The same disciple who used to stand in front of Agni years ago learning warfare.

Acharya, Aksh voice was heavy, as if there was a blockage in his throat. He touched Agni feet. The same feet that once ran on the battlefield, now stood calm.

Agni raised his hand. A flame of fire was dancing in his palm, but it was not burning. He placed that hand on Aksh shoulder. As soon as he touched, a warmth ran through Aksh body. Not burning, but a pleasant, protective warmth.

Aksh, Agni said, a father pride in his voice. You have left the sword, but your courage should not leave. That fire inside you that once burned in war, let it now burn for dharma.

Agni moved his two fingers near Aksh eyes. I give you my vision. Whenever injustice rises in society, whenever the cry of the innocent is heard, your eyes will recognize it. You will be able to see where truth is hidden, where lies are woven.

Tears flowed from Aksh eyes. He wanted to say something, but words did not come. He just bowed his head, pressing Agni hand to his forehead.

Neer went to Kalpit. He took out a small crystal garland from his waist. Every bead clear, like ice, with a faint blue glow coming from it.

Kalpit, Neer said softly, the same calm in his voice that Kalpit had heard for years. Knowledge is the nectar that makes a person immortal. Weapons break, armies lose, but knowledge. Knowledge never dies.

He placed the garland in Kalpit hands. Every bead of this garland will remind you of the peace you found in the forest hermitage. Whenever you have doubt, whenever your mind is restless. Hold it. And pass it on to your future generations. So that our legacy never breaks.

Kalpit held the garland tightly. His hands were trembling. He touched Neer feet, and when he got up, his eyes were red, but there was a new resolve in them.

Akshansh and Vedika: Union of Love and Justice

When Akshansh and Vedika came near, there was a special spark in Neer eyes. Akshansh was not his nephew. He was the reflection of his ideals, the symbol of that faith for which Neer had struggled all his life.

Akshansh, Neer took out Varshini from his waist. The sword was shining today. A calm, blue glow, as if bathed in moonlight. He placed the hilt of the sword in Akshansh hands.

This sword will now come out of its sheath only when justice is in danger, Neer said, firmness in his voice. When the blood of an innocent is shed, when a weak person is exploited. Only then. And even then, lift it not with hatred, but with compassion. Because the purpose of justice is not to punish, but to reform.

Akshansh held the sword. His hand felt heavy. Not from the weight of the sword, but from the responsibility now on him.

Neer turned and looked at Vedika. And Vedika, you have turned the ashes of Nabhgadh into gold again. You have not only handled a kingdom, but also a family.

Vedika eyes filled up. She had covered her mouth, but now she could not cry. Her pain was beyond tears.

I give you my patience, Neer said, placing his hand on Vedika head. You will be the backbone of this empire. When everyone shakes, you will remain firm. When everyone tires, you will hold.

Vedika touched Neer feet. Her back was trembling. Tauji, her voice was a whisper. Will you never come back? Will we never see you again.

Agni stepped forward and placed his hand on Vedika head. His touch was warm, comforting. Foolish girl, Agni said, a gentle laugh in his voice. Where are we going. Whenever you light a fire, whether a lamp or a hearth, see me in its flames. Whenever you drink water, whether from a river or a well, feel Neer in its moisture. We will be in the air around you. In your breaths. We are not going far. We are just going to live in a different form.

Anvay and Nirag: The Unbreakable Bond of Brothers

Finally, Anvay and Nirag stepped forward. Anvay, who had become a strong king, whose name was taken with respect throughout the region. Today he looked like that same small child who had first learned to wield a sword from Agni. Eyes wide, hands trembling.

Anvay, Agni hugged him. A tight, full hug containing years of love and pride. Make the borders of Pawangadh so wide that every sad person can find shelter there. Every orphan gets a home. Every hungry person gets food.

Agni pulled him back and looked at him. And remember. You are Nirag older brother. As long as you two are one, as long as you hold each other hands, no void can touch this world. Your bond is the greatest power of this earth.

Anvay nodded. He wanted to say something, but his throat choked. He just held Agni hand in his, pressed it. A promise, an oath.

Now it was Nirag turn.

Nirag stepped forward. The black shadow in his eyes was completely gone. In its place was an infinite sorrow. A sorrow beyond words, beyond tears. He could not speak. His lips trembled, but no voice came.

He came and stood between Agni and Neer. He held both their garments. One hand clutching Agni cloth, the other Neer. He filled his fist with those clothes, as if wanting to stop them from leaving.

Agni and Neer both placed their hands on Nirag head together. One hand was warm. Carrying the heat of fire. The other hand was cold. Carrying the coolness of water. Two energies. Contradictory but complementary. Entered Nirag body. A tingling sensation ran through every pore.

Nirag, Neer said in a very soft tone, like a gust of wind. You are our son. Not our blood, but our soul. Andhak Void gave you darkness. But we are leaving you light.

Agni gently lifted Nirag chin, making him look into his eyes. Your veins will now carry not just blood. The fire of Agneer will flow. The courage of fire and the wisdom of water. You will become that king whose example will be given for centuries. Who will not only rule a kingdom, but also win hearts.

Nirag closed his eyes. Two tears slipped from his lashes onto his cheeks. One tear was hot, the other cold. One was Agni, the other Neer.

Call of the Void

Suddenly, that purple hole in the sky shook again. A terrible roar came from it. Not a voice, but an echo that shook even the bones. That hole had become bigger now, purple lightning coming from its edges, drawing zigzag lines in the sky.

The rooftop of the palace began to tremble. Dust flew from the joints of the stones. The flames of the lamps bent to one side, as if some invisible force was pulling them.

Agni and Neer bodies were now slowly becoming transparent. Divine rays were bursting from their skin. Golden and blue rays dissolving into the air, forming a cloud of light. Their feet were rising slightly from the ground.

Margdarshak, Agni looked at Vishrayan. His voice now sounded like an echoing echo. We cannot delay any longer. This void is pulling us. Calling our power.

Margdarshak Vishrayan nodded gravely. His eyes were closed, but there was a divine glow on his face. The last hour has begun. Now you must abandon this human attachment. Break the bonds of this body. Your work here is done. Now the work of the universe remains.

The whole family. Akshansh, Vedika, Anvay, Nirag, Aksh, Kalpit. Formed a circle around them, holding each other hands. This was not planned. It happened spontaneously, as if their hearts had spoken to each other.

It was a scene that would make even the gods rain flowers from heaven. A rain of flowers began from the sky. Golden lotuses, blue utpals, white champas. Floating in the air and coming down.

Agni and Neer looked one last time. At their palace, where every brick held their memories. At their earth, which had raised them. And at their family. Which was now their greatest legacy.

Do not mourn, Neer said, looking at everyone. His voice was now dissolving in the air, like the sound of a distant flowing river. We are going not in sorrow, but in pride.

Celebrate, Agni said in his same old roaring voice, but this time there was love in that roar, a father blessing. Celebrate every rising sun. Celebrate every child laughter. Because we will now be in every morning. In every laughter.

Finally, such bright light came from both their bodies that everyones eyes were dazzled. A white golden light that filled the entire sky, in which blue glow was also mixed. The light was so bright that everyone closed their eyes.

When the light dimmed, and everyone opened their eyes.

The ground beneath Agni and Neer feet was empty.

They were floating in the air. Now completely transparent, only as light. Two figures. One golden, one blue. They were holding each other hands, their faces toward that void, which was now waiting for them.

The moment of farewell was now just a step away.

One step. And then eternity.
