Qin Chuan dared to utter that statement earlier because he knew the woman had already rebuilt her Dao foundation.
The woman's appearance brought Qin Chuan a sigh of relief; everything was settled. What was initially a certain death situation had become insignificant.
The head steward stared blankly at the woman, unable to believe what he was seeing—a broken Dao foundation could be rebuilt.
Rebuilding was an ideal; legend had it that a broken Dao foundation could be rebuilt using a supreme treasure, the Rebuilding Divine Stone. However, the Rebuilding Divine Stone was merely a legendary item; its existence was unknown.
Yet now he had witnessed the Dao foundation being rebuilt with his own eyes, and it had been successfully rebuilt in such a short time.
Rebuilding the Dao foundation was incredibly difficult, but once successful, the benefits were unimaginable.
He had initially been overjoyed at turning the tide, even planning for the future, but all of this quickly vanished.
He had already suffered losses in the clash of domains, and now, with the added disadvantages of the formation, his own inferiority to the woman, and Qin Chuan's weakening effect, and
now that the woman's realm had changed and her strength greatly increased, he was completely powerless. For the woman to kill him now would be as easy as turning her hand.
The head steward's face was ashen. He no longer even had the will to fight. He stood there dumbfounded, everything that had happened was too unbelievable, yet it was all so real before his eyes.
"Do you have anything else to say?" the woman asked softly.
The head steward shook his head listlessly. He was utterly despondent. He had lived for so long, seen all sorts of great things, but he still didn't want to die.
Here, he ruled over this region, his powerful cultivation allowing him to do whatever he wanted, and even after all this time, he still wanted to live.
But he knew that today, no matter what, he was doomed.
"How are they now?" the woman asked.
Qin Chuan knew that the woman's question was vague; her memories hadn't returned, but he could find out a lot of things.
This question was about his family and his enemies.
The head steward naturally knew this too. After thinking for a moment, he said, "Your family is basically all dead, but..."
The woman asked, "But what?"
"I'll tell you some useful information. Will you let me go?" the head steward asked.
"What do you think?" the woman said calmly.
The head butler shook his head. He knew he had no right to negotiate. If he spoke now, he could live a little longer, and a little longer might give him a chance.
But if he didn't speak, he would die immediately. Anyway, this information was useless to him; speaking it out might save his life. So he answered truthfully, because he couldn't afford the risk, nor was it worth it.
"Your fiancé might still be alive," the head butler said.
The woman frowned slightly. Fiancé? That was too unfamiliar. She couldn't remember him, had no recollection of him. She wondered what would happen if she regretted regaining her memories.
She was a little lost in thought. She hadn't really considered this question. In her research, she hadn't paid attention to such things; after all, he was just a fiancé, not a real couple.
"If nothing unexpected happens, you were probably rescued by your fiancé. He should still be alive," the head butler continued.
"Who is he?" the woman asked.
Although she had no recollection of this fiancé, she needed to know who he was so she could devise a plan if she encountered him.
"He's the young master of the Tyrant Dragon Clan, everyone calls him Tyrant. They say he might still be alive, but I haven't seen him since," the head steward said after a moment's thought. "
The Tyrant Dragon Clan?"
The woman recognized the name; she'd found a lot about them in her research. It was a large clan, on par with the Nine Heavens Divine Phoenix Clan, though relatively weaker. The Tyrant
Dragon Clan was once incredibly powerful, even rivaling the Nine Heavens Divine Phoenix Clan.
However, for some reason, their bloodline diluted, causing a sharp decline in their strength. But even a weakened giant is still formidable; the Tyrant Dragon Clan remained renowned, and no one dared underestimate them.
In the past, the Tyrant Dragon Clan replaced the Nine Heavens Divine Phoenix Clan as the most powerful force.
The woman's fiancé was the young master of the Tyrant Dragon Clan.
The Nine Heavens Divine Phoenix Clan was gone, but the Tyrant Dragon Clan had become the most powerful. Was there something fishy going on?
The head steward's words quickly confirmed her suspicions.
"The Tyrant Dragon Clan is one of them. The Tyrant Dragon Clan is part of the Extinction Phoenix Clan's strength. However, your fiancé couldn't bear to see you die, so he took you away. But what his purpose was, and how you were able to get out, I don't know," the head steward said.
A cold glint flashed in the woman's eyes.
Perhaps this was why she had lost her memory; someone didn't want her to have any memories. Without memories, she would be a completely different person.
