"I am sorry." Kallen apologised. Behind her, there was a pyre of flames. The girl looked devastated by the loss of the base.
"It's okay. Don't worry. I have already written this off as a loss from the very beginning." Marcus motioned for her to calm herself.
He was walking towards Tiranis, as he had his plans as well.
"You did?"
"Yes. While we can fight to keep this specific technology in our hands, it's theoretically impossible to keep it. That is why I have written it off.
All we are doing is forcing Britannia to waste its resources."
Kallen perked up when she heard that.
"Does this mean…"
"Do you want revenge?" He asked her.
The beauty showed him a sadistic smile.
"You know me well! What should I do?" She asked, excited.
"Good, then your AI assistant will show the parameters of this mission." As Marcus said that he was about to end the call.
"Do stay safe, Kallen. I will see you later."
"Don't worry! I only need to take this personally."
With that said, the girl ended her call, and at that moment, he looked at his machine waiting for him in cruise mode.
He got into the cockpit as the hatch sealed and the 360-degree monitors loaded up.
Instead of the corporation logo, it was now his nation's flag. Marcus changed his Anaheim logo; instead of 'AH', it was just an 'A' made from 3 golden comets.
It made it look a bit more 'celestial', with their focus on space instead of regular Earth flags.
Once all the systems were loaded and Marcus saw that the Fusion Reactor was stable, the platform raised the mobile suit to the surface level, where the runway was in front of him.
It was dark; all he could see was the lights on the runway.
Striking the enemy in the darkness of the night was something done since the dawn of time, and now he is going to do it for at least half a continent.
With a simple hand motion, the pilot pushed the lever forward, and the mobile suit blasted off into the sky.
A spin followed as the Ion Thrusters glowed brighter, causing his machine to accelerate even more towards the space.
~~~
Alarms blared in the West Coast shipyard as blue beams slammed into docked warships.
What followed next was a chain of explosions, as beams like rain followed from the sky, sinking all of the warships that were in the vicinity.
After warships, it was time for hangars and storage facilities.
The best part was that what was shooting was so high that no Britannia weapon could reach it.
Marcus was simply sitting in his cockpit, relaxing as he lazily pressed the trigger button.
After destroying the base, he moved to the next base, then the next and the next.
Sinking the navy, the air support for Knightmares, and even factories.
He spent the whole night doing just that.
Sadly… for these guys, the end of the shift was when they lost their lives. Something quite mean from Marcus, not that he can't help, after all, he can't alter the time zones.
At the end of all of this, his last middle finger to Britannia was the bridge connecting the Homeland of Britannia to Asia in Alaska.
Once he blew it up, his Mobile suit turned around and flew back to Solomon's Base.
It took him about 6 hours to blow everything up.
When his machine returned, Leila and his knight were waiting for him.
"At least tell me where you are going, my Lord!" Jeanne was the most pissed off. She was supposed to be his knight!
"What she said!" Leila puffed while motioning to the knight.
"We are at war with the entire world… our… Leader…" The girl wondered for a second what Marcus was… was he the Leader? President? Prophet?
"Leader is fine for now. But I will most likely go with Emperor…"
"Just to piss off your father?" Leila asked, rolling her eyes as this was most likely that!
"Something like that." He casually nodded while motioning with his hand.
"Anyway, it was to relieve my anger. Now I am feeling much better."
"Hn."
The blonde nodded before grabbing his hand.
"Come, you need a shower, and then you shall entertain me." The girl said with finality in her voice.
"As my darling wants." He smiled as he pulled her closer.
Leila grimaced as his sweat assaulted her nose.
"...Y-You!"
"Hehehe…" The girl tried to struggle, but he was much stronger than she was.
As the pair walked away, the Knight sighed, and she decided to stand guard and wait for anything to happen. Since he went on a destructive spree, there should be retaliation.
"Your Majesty!"
Britannian military was in shambles! Factories, bases, assembly points, airfields…everything is in flames!
Charles looked at his military officers as they ran around, trying to assess the situation.
'Those machines… they are too dangerous.'
The military advantage these things have is making their military look primitive and outdated.
"Your Majesty, we have lost nearly all of our assets in Homeland."
"...Nearly all?" Charles frowned even harder. This was… bad.
"Yes… We still haven't assessed everything as we lack military personnel to do so."
'This is worse than I have expected.'
He closed his eyes. The more he listens, the more he feels that Ragnarok Connection is getting away from him.
"Since the network is down and getting improved, it will take a while for us to figure out how much we have lost." The officials were struggling to explain that Britannia was in no condition to do anything! They were crippled!
"Hmm…" Charles tapped the armrest of his throne.
"Since we are done here, we can return to Pendragon."
With that said, his G1 began to retreat back to the train that should be waiting for him.
While everything was fine…for a while, it wasn't fine the moment they needed to cross the bridge in the Bering Strait into Alaska.
The bridge was not there anymore. It was completely destroyed, not even the bridge pillars were left! It ceased to exist!
"LELOUCH!!!!" Charles couldn't take it anymore! This was beyond petty! Even for him!
The Emperor lost his cool as he began to rage! Here he was stranded in a cold climate! Away from his seat of power, without any means of transportation to return!
After all, Marcus destroyed the remainder of the West Coast Navy; there were no planes anymore, either. After all, Britannians have stopped investing in plane technology.
Instead, they focused on Knightmares and electronics. At some point, they would achieve airships, but for that, float technology has to be finished.
Something at which Lloyd was at the forefront.
"Contact Schneizel immediately!" Charles raged as his officers scrambled to establish communications with Britannian Homeland.
Thankfully, they had a decent link with Euro Britannia. It was one of the first links to return, as it was to make sure they knew their Overlord was not dead in the water when it came to information.
A few moments later, the Emperor had Schneizel on the big screen.
"Your Majesty, you requested me?"
"Schneizel, I need transportation! The bridge in the Bering Strait is gone!"
The blonde man didn't look surprised to hear that.
"I see. Most of the navy and planes have been destroyed by Lelouch. I do, however, have a prototype airship that is built with the float system."
"I do not care for methods. I need transportation back to Pendragon. Make it happen."
"Understood. I will personally make sure it arrives at your destination, Your Majesty."
Charles nodded; his anger had subsided a bit as he addressed the next thing on his mind.
"Since this attack on Homeland destroyed most of our military infrastructure, we need to focus on rebuilding and developing means of fighting Anaheim!"
Schneizel slowly nodded. That's what he was saying! This was not a simple conquest like before! This is an existential crisis!
"We are abandoning our overseas territories and focusing on the Homeland until we have the means to oppose these Mobile Suits!"
The blonde looked at his Emperor and father, a bit surprised by the drastic actions. But it made sense considering how a single machine lived up to the hype of nation-destroying.
"I understand, I shall begin systematic retreat of troops from Africa."
Charles nodded before ending the call.
Once the screen turned dark, the Emperor sighed as he massaged his forehead. This was far more than he had expected.
Technology so potent that it changed the entire table!
'I won't surrender so easily, Lelouch.'
Just because the boy was able to deal such a crippling blow, it doesn't mean Britannia is out of this game!
The perks of being an Absolute Monarchy are that it's easy for him to reroute resources to where he needs.
Something where he can compete with Anaheim's absurd space mining, as he saw in the reports.
Though the more he looks at this, the more it is evident that Britannia won't be able to keep up with Anaheim's growing industrial might.
The longer this has been happening, the more he is certain that he will need help from the Geass Order.
~~~~~~North Western China~~~~~~
Close to what is considered Mongolia, five machines were descending from Space right above a military base.
Alarms began to blare through the whole facility, but a green machine released a blue-ish yellow beam from a long barrel. Followed by a rain of blue beams as five machines landed in the base and began to wreak utter havoc in this garrison.
"I feel that this is overkill," Suzaku commented as he was feeling pity for these Gun-Ru. They can't even scratch his machine.
"We are not here to feel pity, Kururugi. We are here to clean up the opposition and locate the entrance to THAT place." Jeremiah said as his image appeared on the screen.
"I know…"
'Geass Order… A supernatural order that is loyal to the Britannian Royal Family… more specifically the Emperor.'
Suzaku was spooked to say the least. Lelouch and Cornelia both have it.
'And it came from that green-haired girl.' He recalled how they met her… it was when he got shot, by that Royal Guard lunatic, their commander.
Thankfully…
Marcus is thinking of blowing it up—no more puppeteer in his new world.
Well, not really… as the Exiled Prince will make his version of Geass Users… something Suzaku is having a hard time accepting.
He did complain to him, but Marcus' response was that he could get one as well.
Which immediately made the Brown Haired teen stop in his tracks. It was tempting, but he decided to simply ignore it and complete the mission.
After wrecking the base, the group used the satellite images to orient in a desert-like environment.
This was to locate the Geass Order that is hiding in a Desert.
How they did this… without attracting the attention of the Chinese Federation is beyond the pilot of the Gundam's understanding.
"I have located a cave. The reading that I am getting from it shows that there is human activity." Kewell shared the information.
Suzaku's eyes perked up. He can see a literal city…underground!
'These guys! Just how deeply rooted is this secret society!? Thousands of people with strange abilities…'
Honestly, he was a bit sceptical about the whole killing god thing, just from hearing C.C speak and the entire glowing eyes thing.
But seeing a hidden society in a cave…in the middle of a desert, with access to electricity and other things he is not aware of.
It makes him inclined to believe that it is very true… and that these guys and their craziness need to be removed…
"How are we going to remove them?" Suzaku asked. Taking on the whole city is a bit much, even for their new machines; it will be a chore.
"We won't. Our job was to take over the whole base and mark the specific location." Jeremiah said via the comms.
"Mark? Does it mean someone will come here?" Maya asked, the girl was spooked about the hidden world, the whole Geass thing and killing the God has shaken her quite a bit.
"No one will come here. The Geass Order will be a test ground for our Orbital Bombardment system."
The man said with a smirk. That's right! Anaheim's secret weapon, the orbital bombardment system!
