Not everyone wanted supernatural eyes. Oldrin skipped, Suzaku skipped, and almost all of the Glinda Knights skipped.
'Though Jeremiah forcing everyone to be loyal to me is amusing.'
Marcus chuckled to himself, imagining his future enemies saluting him with joyous looks as his other knights' awakened ability to force everyone to be loyal.
Regardless, he looked at Shamna, who waited for him.
"Now that everyone has their Geass, can you solve my issue?" The blonde Priestess asked with a hopeful look.
"The issue with your code could be two reasons. One is that though the Elevator you used is damaged, or that your Geass is a runaway one." He explained to her.
"... I see. My Geass was given by C.C." She looked at C.C., who looked nonchalant.
"Most likely because you didn't use your powers for a long time, it became a runaway one. Separated from my Code." C.C. explained to her.
"I doubt I could do anything." The Witch shrugged. Since the Priestess had a Failed Code, it was out of her control.
"Then we need to find a good Thought Elevator." Marcus pondered for a second.
"Then it's a good thing that Zilkhstan has two of them." Shamna smiled, now that she was certain she could use them properly.
"Yes, but you would lose your Geass, unless you train your Code afterwards."
The Queen of Zilkhstan looked at C.C., wondering what she meant. But then she saw C.C.'s eyes. It was Geass!
"...Y-You…"
The Priestess swiftly looked away, hoping that she didn't fall under her spell.
"I am practising controlling Geass Energy; this would allow me to utilise Geass and Code abilities." The Witch explained to her. There was a reason why she is doing such a thing.
After all, this was a 'fight' between a Witch and a Priestess.
"I see… it would seem I am behind in understanding Geass." Shamna smiled, looking excited to know that there is much more to this than she already knows.
"Don't worry, I will teach you all you need to know." He smiled at her before starting to move.
"Since I am done here, we can move to Zilkhstan, time to begin with the construction of the HQ."
"As you wish~" What Shamna heard from him was music to her ears.
To make her homeland prosperous was always her dream, but now it was not a distant future but something behind a corner.
"I am coming with you, My Emperor." Jeanne, who was behind him, reminded him that she was here as well.
"You do know you could just stay behind and do whatever you want." Marcus sighed.
"No. I am your Knight. My job is to be by your side." The girl declared with a heated look. She is getting tired of him leaving her behind the moment she walks away somewhere! It's just pissing her off! If it were her, she would chain him up!
"If that's the case, then don't fall behind, Jeanne." He motioned to move on.
"You should have gotten those special eyes for this." The Emperor reminded her that she should have gotten Geass, but she declined.
Her reasoning is that the power was a gamble. It could have been something that could have messed up her vision, and that is bad for her duty as his Knight.
"If I were certain what I would get, I would have accepted it." She said with a serious tone.
"But if Your Majesty insists…"
"No, it's fine." He sighed. She was right. He was in a similar boat, but his curiosity got the better of him… especially since he could not turn it off, initially.
"Anyway, follow me, Jeanne, don't fall behind." Marcus motioned for her to follow him.
Jeanne rolled her eyes. She is not slow!
~~~~~~Later~~~~~~
Marcus looked at the Thought Elevator in Shamna's temple.
"What should I do?" She asked him as they looked at the wall carving.
"It should be thought-based. Everything is thought-based because this thing is consciousness-based.
You already have a semi-functioning code. My theory is that you need a form of linchpin. This should be some sort of understanding." The Emperor stroked his chin as he didn't know it either.
"It's to discard that attachment. Geass is a manifestation of your inner desire, or in some cases, a form of training that you need to overcome. It's a form of transcendence." C.C. explained to them.
"When I got my Geass, I wanted to be loved, as I was just a slave girl. Eventually, that desire got dulled down; what I wanted in the end was true love, not some basic affection from everyone. It's a form of curse that you need to overcome."
The Witch explained. Both of them looked surprised to see her talk that much.
"I suppose you had centuries to think about it," Marcus commented. His comment caused the Witch to frown at him.
"Something like that. That is why when you interact with the Thought Elevator, that is what you should think about it." C.C. explained as she, for now, ignored Marcus and his age-related comments.
"Very well."
The blonde woman placed her hand on the Thought Elevator; in the meantime, the pair of them looked at her, trying to achieve True Code.
C.C.'s explanation was something he always thought about.
Geass is a Celtic concept that means a vow. It means something like a contract that C.C. talks about. But in essence, it's a vow to oneself, a thing that one needs to overcome.
If one fails, that individual goes insane, like how it was with that Mao guy, or one can overcome and transcend, like how it could get for Charles, as he overcame his Geass and had it in complete control until he inherited the Code from V.V in the canon timeline.
There are twists and turns, Marcus still wondered if C.C. truly overcame her Geass to inherit the Code, but from the looks of it Code can be forced on one as well.
'Truly… one will never know with this power.'
It's annoying and complex, like humans are.
After a bit more time, Shamna lowered her hand, turned around and looked at them.
"Well? You didn't disappear, I suppose you didn't enter the elevator." C.C. asked as she looked at the Priestess.
"It worked… I feel… different." The woman looked at her hand. It was different, she felt… detached now.
"In essence, the Code is an overload of Geass Energy in your body. What I think you feel is that you have too much of it. As a side effect, you are stuck in time." Marcus explained to her, but then C.C. added her two bits.
"In other words." C.C. grinned. "You are not truly alive, and because of that, you can't truly perform your duties as Empress now. What's the point of being one if you can't give an Heir?" The Witch explained in a lazy tone.
"...Is that all you care about?" Marcus looked at her with a weirded-out look.
"Of course! What else could I possibly care about! Did you forget what my Geass was?" C.C. huffed and puffed! She was feeling pissed off! How much does she need to explain to him!?
"...I see… I guess in the end you are not that complex." He mumbled that under his breath. Causing her to see red!
"What does that suppose to mean!?" The witch turned into an angry cat who was about to unleash hell upon him.
"What it means is that I am relieved and can cuddle you as much as you want."
"...Oh… then say so from the very beginning!" C.C. deflated like a balloon when she heard that.
"All I needed was confirmation." The Emperor took her hand and pulled her into one of the couches in Shamna's temple. The Green-Haired beauty ended up in his lap as the pair began to cuddle.
Such actions caused Shamna annoyance as she looked at her hand. Now she can give Geass left and right, but she is no longer a normal human. What is with this exchange?
Thankfully, from the looks of it, Marcus has a solution for her.
After Shamna received her Real Code, work began to turn Zilkhstan into the headquarters of his Secret Police Organisation.
From space capsules with resources began to arrive, carrying Legion Bots with them. The nation already had them to a considerable level.
But this nation was a coastal desert, with the city built at its edge. As a result, many legion bots began terraforming the desert areas.
One of the ways was a climate-controlling tower; it was a prototype, but it will do its job and bring rain to the desert country.
Of course, simple rain is not a solution to grow something; dirt is needed, which is what he brought next.
Not that this was the final thing, as the next project was a railway to Constantinople, to the capital of the world.
With all of these projects in place, Marcus could finally leave as his job was done; the rest is up to the Legion Bots and Zilkhstani people.
Though the Emperor has confidence after seeing how fanatical those people are for their Priestess.
He could safely leave for his next mission, and that was space, to see Nina.
…
…
…
At Lagrange 3, behind the sun, at the most advanced technology development location, the Emperor boarded the R&D belonging to the nerdy green-haired girl who has been making world-changing drills for him.
"This is it." The nerdy developer proudly showed him what she had created.
It was eight slender pencil-looking metal rods.
"These are Geass OS powered drills that will generate heat upon drilling to a specific depth.
They should melt the lake underwater and kick start those portals in the South Pole." The girl explained as she pushed her glasses up. She was excited to see her Emperor.
To show him all of her hard work!
"Then everything is ready?" He asked with a similarly excited look.
"It is. I have designed specific carrier ships for these rods.
We can use them to terraform worlds. Considering we will need towers and this type of rod. Ships that can carry towers are essential."
Marcus nodded at her. She was right. Specific Colonisation type of ships, something he hasn't considered yet.
As… he needed to deal with the planet he lives on first.
"Then shall we?"
"Yes~"
The pair looked like excited children, causing Jeanne, behind her Emperor, to look a bit concerned about how easily her Majesty could be swayed like this…
With orders given, a new slender spaceship flew over. This ship was special as it could move into a Vertical position to launch rods or towers into the planet below.
Named after another star, Altair, this was an Altair-Class Terraformer. A ship that has only one purpose… drop rods… from space if need be.
How is that not a warship!?
Regardless, the first rods were taken, and the group boarded the Marcus Carrier to see how this Altair ship operates.
They watched from space as Altair entered the atmosphere, shifted into a vertical position, and then began launching drill rods from above the research base at the South Pole.
Now, these rods were not simple; they moved as they fell, finding the best angle before starting to drill.
Eventually, all of them were launched.
"How long will this take?" Marcus asked with crossed hands. He wondered how much time he had left to prepare for his next adventure…
"By my estimation… around five years?"
Marcus turned stiff as his gaze went to Nina.
"Five years?" He asked with disbelief on his face.
"Yes. We can't melt that ice quickly; it could cause a cave-in. Soil could rapidly turn soft, and it could cause the whole thing to collapse. That is why I advise strengthening the foundations of that place." The nerdy girl explained to him.
'Fuck… and I wanted to have some fun along the way while I build for space… damn it! I guess I focus on developing my Empire first.'
