Mei smiled as he checked what data Batarians had on Aratoht. Since it's their colony, most of the data should be accurate.
'The colony is a fresh one with over 80 thousand people and over 200 thousand slaves. But since the breathable atmosphere is quite thin, the world is not that good. The colonies only exist at the poles; anywhere else is just too hot, like an Oven.'
As the Empress was reading up on the data, he pressed a couple of buttons on a hologram, and an image of Schneizel appeared above it.
"What can I do for you, Empress Mei?" The blonde Governor of Kite's Nest asked the Leader of Imperial Intelligence.
Over the past couple of weeks, he has been working closely with the Departments of Justice led by Marrybell Anaheim and the Department of Intelligence led by Mei Anaheim.
Both of those departments were in Kite's Nest to assist the assimilation of the Batarian Hegemony.
The process was not the easiest, as this race is just bad compared to Imperial and their Pride and simply a high-trust society. The four eyes are just greedy and easily corruptible.
The Batarian learned the hard way what happens to criminals; the deployment of firing squads became a common thing in the most populous cities around Kher'Shan, Camala, and Adek.
Three major worlds in Kite's Nest had a strong Imperial presence. The two colonies apart from Kher'Shan were unique.
Camala is now sending its Eezo to the Empire as the Empire finally had a decent source of it. Not that they use it to a large extent.
Apart from that, Adek is a lush tropical garden world that is full of bacteria and viruses, with a Batarian population barely above five million.
The world is far more interesting than Camala, as biologists went there to study bacteria that is lethal to Batarians.
"Brother-in-law Schneizel, we have a lead for black market activities; somehow a civilian-grade beam rifle got itself in Citadel's new Capital of Unity.
I am sending the data over to you."
With that said, the Empress sent over files that she got from Lockon.
"I see… it is locked to Kite's Nest. Fascinating, there was an armoury raid in Camala not long ago. From what I understand, there could be a trader involved that sold off some intel to Batarians."
"The Merchant class. I guess they haven't learned their lessons." Mei frowned as he used her access to read the report on that incident.
"Yes. We had nothing on the merchant until now. Only an Imperial can have access to storage units.
The amusing part in all of this is that the Merchant most likely forgot to mention to the Batarians that they can't wield the weapon.
Making the Batarians think that this information is worth more than it initially is." Schneizel smiled, making the Empress smile as well.
The Emperor is as paranoid as ever; he predicted that his tech would become something that anyone would pay a high amount of wealth to get their hands on.
But even the most basic weapons require ELS-based power suits. That is what most Imperials who are in any form of active duty wear.
They are gene/suit locked; the weapons won't work if you don't have an ELS-based suit. Then there is another part of it: the particles; the weapon needs compressed particles, so even IF you turn the weapon on and hack the AI-powered software, there is still the issue of particles that come from cartridges.
The technology in the rifles is not that fancy; the focusing lenses are something the galaxy already has a form of. The true magic is the particles.
Which is something one won't easily recreate; even if they get their hands on a cartridge full of compressed particles, it won't mean a thing, simply because particles themselves and particle creation are two separate things.
Reverse engineering of these particles is simply impossible without access to schematics of the GN Drive, EVEN THEN, with the schematics, one doesn't simply build it, as there is a specific ratio of radiation that is required to create the GN particle effect, but that's just one part; the other one is the GN blanket that creates the pseudo-perpetual reaction inside of the reactor.
The tech is safely stored and heavily guarded in the depths of Core Worlds—something no alien has seen.
So, it's an absurd uphill battle to fight when trying to copy this particular technology.
"And now we have a lead. You should use this information to track down these black market traders. Until then, I shall focus on my next objective." Mei said with a small smile as she was getting ready for her invasion.
"I will, don't worry. This will be fun. I feel that these Batarians are quite slimy; the moment I feel that everything is under control, they find a way to surprise me.
But like any other opponent, their actions can be studied and adjusted." As the blonde prince said, he was reading the data he collected before and was comparing it with the new one he just got from Mei.
"I see, then have fun with your new prey." The Princess smiled; it appeared the Prince would have his fun.
"You as well, Your Majesty. I hope that new world is worth the effort."
With that said, the Prince ended the call. Mei chuckled as she realised she had been seen through. Her actions were not as subtle as she had initially thought.
~~~
As Mei was preparing for her invasion into Viper Nebula, Marcus was on Rannoch doing his thing.
He found a considerable amount of Geth on the planet even when Sovereign shipped the majority of them away.
The ones that remained caused a reaction. Now that the majority are gone, these Geth Platforms went feral.
*BEEP*
Electronic sounds and beeps followed as Geth with their flashlight-for-eyes stared at Marcus's advanced group.
It was him, Graham, and an escort of G-Force elite; they were visiting one of the Geth Data centres.
Most of the Data centres were in orbit. Weirdly enough, for Quarians that is, the Geth were extremely environmentally friendly; it's as if they were protecting the life of the planet.
Sadly, none of them will figure out the true nature of self-aware Geth as they got captured by Sovereign and the Reapers and will use them for their needs.
That is, if he helps these idiots.
The feral Geth lunged at Marcus, who was simply staring at them. Graham pulled a beam saber and sliced through the machine; its white oil thing gushed out as if it was blood.
The Emperor looked at this oil, a bit curious why it wasn't black.
'Oh, well, space is full of wonders.' He shrugged for a second as he continued to walk forward deeper into a Geth data centre.
"These things are strange; why the hell do they have flashlights for heads?" Graham commented as he swirled his beam saber before turning it off and storing it under his cloak.
"Don't ask me, I am not the designer here." The Emperor shrugged without care as he walked to one of the consoles in the data centre and began to hack into it.
Well, there was no need to hack, as the thing barely had any protection. Self-aware doesn't need those, as things like these consoles will be part of the network; the Software would begin to bombard the intruder with layers of firewalls, but at the moment the data centre was barely functioning, the Geth software barely existed, and was only partially aware of its own existence.
"Hmm…"
With that said, Marcus flipped a memory stick and inserted it into the console, and Legion swiftly took over the whole network and began to spread through every single data centre and then Geth platforms.
"Let's salvage whatever we can."
[Assuming direct control. Collecting all of the Geth.]
~~~
Quarians who were doing mop-up operations and trying to get hold of the most fertile land on Rannoch were baffled to see the feral Geth stop being feral.
[Assuming direct control. We are Legion, for we are many.]
The Geth began to speak…
"...did that…"
"No, that's not Geth."
[We are Legion, we serve the Empire, all of the Geth shall gather in the Data Centre found in the South Hemisphere.]
With that said, the platform began to walk away.
"...What should we do? The Empire…" One of the Quarian marines said with worry.
"Don't be stupid; if the Empire wants to do anything, they don't need geth." The captain of the marines looked into the sky where hundreds of Imperial ships were in formation and waiting for a single word from the Emperor.
"...I guess… still…"
"I know…"
The Marines were not the only ones who freaked out, as Daro'Xen, who was collecting Geth platforms, freaked out seeing them turn on their own, and other Geth platforms began assembling others.
She was about to open fire, but all of the Geth began to speak in a single voice.
[Assuming direct control. We are Legion, for we are many.]
[We are Legion; we serve the Empire. All of the Geth shall gather in the Data Centre found in the South Hemisphere.]
"You… Legion… the Imperial AI." The Quarian scientist realised who this was! To think it would take control over the remaining Geth!
[Correct, Daro'Xen, if you desire to gain control over Geth, then proceed to the Data Centre which His Majesty took control over.
Otherwise he will claim these platforms for himself.]
"...I see…."
The Quarian Admiral lowered her pistol and pondered on her next course of action.
"Admiral…"
The nervous Quarians looked at their leader.
"Relax, this is the AI that I talked about."
"It took over the geth!" The scientists were freaking out!
"I know. We should get to that data centre. Prepare my shuttle." Daro'Xen instructed her followers.
"R-Right."
The Scientist branch was not the only one, as Heavy Fleet was on the move. The Quarians were on edge; they finally got their homeworld back, but the Imperials were all over it.
As the fleets were positioning, Scipio, who was back in space and ready to leave, realised that these suit-wearing aliens were cooking something.
"Your Highness. The Quarian fleet is positioning oddly…"
"How odd is this oddly you speak of?" The Prince asked while frowning; he had a bad feeling about it.
"If they position more in this peculiar direction, they could aim at His Majesty's location on the planet." The moment the officer clarified, everyone looked at him.
"Preposterous!" The whole bridge erupted in anger.
"Is this how they pay back for all of the support we gave them!?" Scipio exclaimed! He got pissed! Livid even!
"Notify Avalon!" The Prince barked orders with visible anger in his eyes.
"Already did."
Sure enough, the Emperor's Retinue reacted as they began to move, the broadsides of all of the Battleships pointed at the Quarian Heavy Fleet.
At the same time, Avalon's massive civilisation-ending weaponry turned on as the tip section of the Mothership started to open, revealing a twenty-kilometre-long built-in barrel.
This was a shrunken version of Solar Cannon; while it can't blow up a planet, it's more than enough to end civilisations and entire fleets.
"This is Scipio Anaheim, the 2nd Imperial Prince. Cease with your nonsense, or I will open fire, and I will end your fleet, and whatever is left of your people will be given away to biologists and scientists of the empire for experimentation. This is your first and last warning." The Prince contacted the Quarian fleet as his ships moved into position as well. They surrounded them from two angles.
~~~
"Hal'Gerrel! Are you mad!? Cease with your stupidity!" Shala'Raan's face appeared on the screen in the flagship of the Heavy Fleet.
"I can end this madness right here and right now! The Empire is trying to restart the Geth! If they bring them all together in one place, they will regain their self-awareness, and we will return to where we were before!
These people have no idea about the Geth and what they can do!" Hal'Gerrel was at his wits' end! Here he was, back at his homeworld; they have retaken it, and now they can lose it once more.
"Can you stop just for a moment and think? Even if the Geth regain their self-awareness, they don't have ships or a fleet! Not to mention the Empire's fleet!"
"They merged their AI's! The Geth with their Legion will take over the Imperial Fleet and will be all doomed this time around!" Hal'Gerrel said with a heavy tone.
"..."
'He… he has lost it!'
With that said, the Admiral of Patrol Fleet ended the call and swiftly contacted the Imperial Fleet.
"This is Shala'Raan of Quarian Patrol Fleet! Heavy Fleet Admiral Hal'Gerrel has lost his mind! He is aiming to attack the Emperor on Rannoch!"
The woman spoke on the open channel, then instructed her ships to move away from the heavy fleet… she wants to survive!
Meanwhile, on the Avalon and Rubicon, the two Retinues synced their commands, and Scipio began to instruct!
"Yank those bastards out of the orbit! I don't give a fuck anymore! No one insults us like this!"
'These Quarians have lost their marbles.' Aria shook her head. She had never seen anything like this before.
'I can understand the desperation, but even it has limits.'
As she thought about it, the massive mothership activated something that caused Quarian ships to get yanked back.
However, the heavy fleet opened fire before they got crushed.
"Shit! They fired!"
~~~
Marcus looked at the sky; he was baffled to see actual combat happening there!
"What the hell!?" Graham looked with wide eyes! He swiftly pressed a button on his comms unit, and moments later his Gundam landed in front of him.
"Activate barriers! Quickly!"
His Graham Gundam's funnels and bits left the frame and merged into a green dome around them.
Sure enough, mass-accelerated shells slammed into the area around them.
Taking out Geth and even hitting the green dome.
"Legion, take over the AA guns and start ripping the Heavy Fleet."
[Roger, proceeding with Quarian Heavy Fleet Extermination.]
The guns in towers around the planet came online, synced with Avalon's targeting systems, and began to shoot the ships.
From three angles, the ships were shredded to bits.
"...Holy…shit…" Graham stared at the utter slaughter happening in space.
"What happened? Why are they attacking us?"
"The comms Legion picked up, listen for yourself." Marcus summoned a hologram from his suit and let the conversations play out.
As this was happening, the Emperor stared at the carnage in orbit.
"...That guy… I think the nerves got to him." Graham sighed. He could understand the fear of AI, though the Empire had a solid foundation for centuries. But the Quarians got exiled by the AI, and they had a sense of fear towards artificial intelligence.
That fear spiked when Legion took over what was left of Geth.
The old trauma reawakened?
'Huh, I have put too much faith in your Quarian kind.' Marcus concluded as he looked around. The destruction…
Its unnaccetapble.
"Legion, notify my fleet; we are conquering Quarians, they are simply unstable to be left alone." The Emperor instructed his fleet.
[Understood, relaying the orders.]
With that said, the situation went from friends to enemies, to occupation in less than five minutes.
Marcus started to explore the moment the fighting ended; to his disappointment, the data centre experienced critical damage and stopped working.
"Bloody losers. Fuck them." The Emperor swore under his breath; his knight and elite guards pretended not to hear his rant.
"Prepare a shuttle; we are going to the next data Centre."
"Understood, Your Majesty."
"It's a critical moment that we study Geth. I need to know which part of the software is responsible for self-awareness development.
Such a moment rarely comes that we can study!" He said to the guards. Not that they cared; they simply nodded at what he said.
~~~
"That idiot! Did he go insane!? Attack the damn Emperor from orbit!? Is he retarded!?" Deno'Xen looked at the fleet that ceased to exist right before her eyes.
"...Umm, Admiral…"
Moments later, pods started to enter the planet.
Several of them were moving towards her location.
"...We are doomed…" The Quarian Admiral looked at the ground; she realised that they were fucked. There was no good solution for their current situation. The moment they opened fire on the Emperor, they sealed their fate.
They read what happened to Batarians when they opened fire on a prince. But this was their true ruler; people worship him like a God!
As she looked around, she saw white-armoured beings point rifles at them; they had those iconic horns on their helmets.
'Imperial Elite Marines… yes, I suppose we are at war, now.'
"Drop your weapons and raise your hands, traitors!"
"Don't lump us with that moron Hal'Gerrel," Daro'Xen said with a sigh as she dropped her weapon and complained at the same time.
"A leader is still a leader of the faction. They represent their people. One of your admirals opened fire on the Emperor.
Thankfully, he is in a good mood." The Marines surrounded them as they kept pointing their rifles.
Moments later, regulars joined as their shuttles arrived, and they pointed their heavy beam rifles at them.
"We surrender."
'No point in resisting.'
Whatever Quarians there were on the planet were overrun by Emperor's Retinue.
The regulars and Marines swiftly contained the Quarians, though the Civilian fleet was confused, as they didn't understand until they saw massive 'battle' in orbit.
"What is going on!?" The civilians were confused and terrified as moments later pods carrying the Marines landed around the places that should be their settlements.
"Don't move!" The Marines pointed their weapons.
"Your Heavy Fleet opened fire on His Majesty. It was a declaration of war."
"W-What!? Why would Heavy Fleet do that!?" The civilians looked at each other in disbelief.
The Empire assisted them in the reclamation of Rannoch; why would the Quarian navy open fire on their ruler!?
"His Majesty took over the remainder of the Geth."
"...oh…"
With that said, the Quarians understood why the Navy would do that. But it was a crazy move.
"Your Fleet opened fire; that makes you our enemies, proceed to be conquered, Quarian. You will be part of the Empire now."
Funny enough, the Quarians didn't mind that outcome.
"...as long as we live on Rannoch."
"..."
The soldiers and the marines expected a bit more reluctance. But… not this; it had freaked them out a bit.
Batarians resisted more.
It was a similar situation in orbit as civilian ships surrendered rapidly, even surprising the Patrol Ships that partially survived the Heavy Fleet's blunder.
To some, it made sense, but to others, it did not.
Well, the thing was, the rumours spread through the civilians that the Imperials could easily build a place for them to live.
They might be in Rannoch, but even their homeworld could be dangerous to Quarians who have weak immune systems. Adjusting to the planet's life once more could take generations; even then, it could be lethal to them.
Regardless, the Empire took over the planet and Avalon in orbit proceeded to switch into a colonial support role.
~~~
"Father! I love you very much!" Claudia, like a small girl, was borderline bouncing in the hologram.
"I almost got orbital bombarded, and this is how you react?" Marcus commented with an eye roll.
"Pff, as if orbital bombardment could end you." The black-haired princess rolled her eyes as she swiftly got to the main point of this call.
"Instead, leave Quarians to me! I shall govern this place!" The Princess puffed her chest proudly as if to show him that he should leave the government job to her.
"..."
The Emperor looked at her.
"What? I promise I will help them rebuild!"
"Fine. But I will have Maya assist you, and you will find a Quarian that will assist you in resource management." Marcus laid out his conditions for the Princess.
He would suggest finding an Imperial for assistance, but no Imperial will question a Princess. It's as simple as that. Only an alien who didn't grow up in the Empire could question one of the Anaheim and its choices.
"Fine, I will do as you ask. But please, let me study their weak immune system! I want to play with it!"
If a Quarian heard that, it would freak out. But it's quite normal for Marcus to see it.
"Sure, I will forward whatever data I have on Quarians and their research on their own immune systems."
"YES! Then I will see you soon, Papa!"
With that said, the call ended. Marcus sighed as he looked through the window of the shuttle he was on.
Rannoch is… unique, reminding him of Sahara's boundary line. As someone who worked on Africa's nature, what he is looking at is not that different.
"The Princess is still as driven as ever." Graham shook his head; he was a bit terrified for the Quarians who would end up on the experiment table.
"It's a new project; I get excited for those as well."
'I guess I have a chance to work on my next ship.'
Rannoch's location is… unique. They are very close to dark space where Reapers hibernate. This world will be part of the Empire, and if Claudia claims it as her domain, he then needs to fortify it.
But to build it into a fortress world…
Now any core world is a Fortress world as well. However, the difference between a Core world and Fortress world is the sheer logistical might that a Core world can bring to the table. Any Core World has logistics hubs and harbour worlds that allow it to receive linear trains.
Linear trains are the reason why the Empire builds so fast. They are simple storage containers connected via magnetism; these linear trains slingshot with the help of gas giants that are always at the edge of the solar system, and then they accelerate through boosters to the next system and next and so on. Until they arrive at their destination, they carry huge amounts of raw resources or refined ones.
Or even regular goods that new colonies need.
The Coloniser Mothership is full of these trains that allow resource management.
Now the issue with Rannoch is that the closest resource depot is around 10,000 light-years away. Building up Rannoch could take time.
'However, this place belonged to Geth for two hundred years. They should have logistics in place.' Marcus stroked his chin before sighing.
"I don't mind that we get Rannoch, as every star will eventually belong to us. The issue is that I planned to conquer this place in a hundred or so years.
Now we don't have access to resources." The Emperor said with a resigned tone. He will need to improvise.
"Then it's a good thing you have Avalon here. Besides, you brought three heavy-duty manufacturing ships, no?" Graham smirked as he reminded Marcus of those.
"True. Regardless, we need to report to the Empire that Quarians are now Imperial Quarians."
"...Right… will you tell your wives that Quarians tried to shell you with mass accelerated rounds from space?" The blonde said with a nervous tone.
"...I wish I could ignore it. But Scipio will brag that he assisted in saving his old man."
"...Ugh… then I wish you luck, Your Majesty." Graham saluted. It reminded Marcus of those salutes when soldiers see the ship going down, or when they bid goodbye to their old squadmates before they are about to get buried.
"It's not that bad…"
"I understand one wife, but you have more than a few, and we can expect them to arrive here in force." The blonde reminded him.
"...We will think of something. We just need to make sure Marrybell doesn't blow them up with an orbital bombardment herself."
"Yes, that or Empress Euphemia, or Empress Leila, or Empress Kallen; they all will exterminate a race for you."
"Oh, how can I forget Princess Cornelia? She has the Vanguard." Graham reminded Marcus that his big sis owns one of the Motherships and she is not afraid of using it.
"Right…yes, we need to be sure they don't blow up those poor bastards." The Emperor sighed; sometimes having so many loving women is not good for alien life.
"Yep, thankfully my job is protecting you from aliens and enemies and not from overaffectionate women." The blonde grinned at Marcus, making the Emperor deadpan at him.
"Duly noted."

Meanwhile, on the edge of the other side of the galaxy, in Viper Nebula, Mei has gathered her assets. As someone who owns The Imperial Intelligence Department, she doesn't lack personnel. The only issue for her is that her resources are heavily focused on spies and infiltration.
While she has the typical loadout of three Battleships, which is the typical asset a Prince or Empress will have by default, the extras are something she needed to organise herself.
Of course, she could act coy and snuggle with her husband and borrow some of his assets, as the man literally has the biggest shipyard in the whole Galaxy.
But this is her thing; she wants to get this on her own.
"Empress, the infiltration of Aratoht was successful."
Mei looked at her second-in-command and her brother, who never left her side over centuries.
In the end of the day, she accepted the fact that her brother is a simple being who only wants to serve.
"Do you think I am being reckless doing this, Hong Long?" She said with a sigh as she looked at the nebula in the distance, not far from the edge of Viper Nebula.
"No, these Batarians are an ugly race of beings who enslave races for their own benefits. I would say barbarians." Hong Long went on a tirade, describing how he felt about the Batarians.
"I don't deny that. But you didn't answer my question." Mei narrowed her eyes a bit.
"No, I don't think you are. The Emperor has gifted you the shadows, and they are more than enough to conquer this place."
'The shadows…'
The Shadows are the STG and Spectre equivalent of the Empire that answer to Mei and the Empire's Imperial Intelligence Division.
They are agents, saboteurs, and executioners all in one.
These guys are separate from G-Force or A.S.P.
G-Force belongs to and is solely Marcus's retinue; A.S.P. is Anaheim's family's Royal Guard and the spiritual successor of Anaheim Robotics, which started the Empire in the first place.
It's the 'shadowy organisation' that rules the Empire. This organisation, apart from supplying the royal guards, keeps Imperial technology in Anaheim family hands.
Now the Imperial Intelligence Division are the spies and infiltrators; they are the external force to A.S.P.'s internal force.
That means that one would never see A.S.P outside the Empire's territory, that is, unless it's part of a retinue like Marcus G-Force knights that can work with A.S.P.
And since they are infiltrators and scouts, their loadout is different from A.S.P.
Way different…
…
…
…
"Is there any news on that Rifle? It should have reached our people in Terminus by now." The Batarian governor for Aratoht commented as he was starting to get impatient.
At first, he resigned himself to his fate of dying when Imperials utterly destroyed them in Kite's Nest. They lost their homeworld and home Cluster. He sat in his throne and waited for the end; it never came.
Eventually, he concluded that the Imperials don't give a damn for small colonies like Aratoht.
Why? Because colonies like these won't last for long. Aratoht is a mining colony, and it would take several decades to become something bigger and more self-reliant.
That means the world with an average temperature of 55 Celsius is not that good for farming.
It's just too hot. Batarian's could have built hydroponic gardens. Which they did, but it's not enough to support a population of close to 300 thousand.
The first ones to suffer when the Batarian Hegemony fell were the Turian slaves, as Aratoht doesn't have Dextro food. Whatever they had used to come from the Hegemony.
After the Turians, it's the other slaves, as the Batarian Free people get priority for food. Bit by bit, the slave population started to die from hunger.
But then they had a chance; whatever is left of the Hegemony is in the background in the Imperial-controlled Kite's Nest.
The Batarians on Aratoht learned the brutality of Imperial control. The freedom fighters were dying like flies.
In a year or so, maybe even sooner, there won't be any sympathisers of the old regime. So they needed to strike now.
And they did. With whatever resources they had, they got their hands on Imperial technology—a beam rifle, the same tech that shredded the Batarian Navy.
If only they could reverse-engineer it, they could start fighting back!
However, they soon learned that the weapon can't even be turned on! They took it apart and tried to kick-start the weapon. But it simply resisted any sort of outside interference.
With that in mind, the batarians decided to ship the weapon to Terminus Systems for in-depth study by Elkoss Combine, as Batarian companies no longer exist.
But…
"The ship was shot down in the skies of the Citadel world of Unity." The Batarian officer dropped the bad news.
"...Ugh! Useless! All of you are useless! This was our last chance! I could have been the—" The Batarian ranted until he stopped in his tracks as his minion had a beam saber sticking out from his chest.
"W-What— Aghh!!!" The guy dropped on the ground; he was dead.
One by one, something shimmered into existence. The room was full of black armoured people. They had seamless black, thin, layered body armours with featureless face masks. They couldn't tell their expressions; only two thin lines for eyes that were glowing red.
The most striking feature is that they have sleeveless cloaks with hoods. Their cloaks strangely reflect light, and their armours make them look as if they are half-existing and half-not, like a shadow.
"The Empire is sending you its regards, Batarian." One of the shadows said with a genderless tone.
"Y-You bastards! How did you get here—" Before he could rant more, he was in fear-induced shock! He was inside of the most protected facility in the whole Aratoht but…
Someone picked him by his head; another one of them shimmered into existence right in front of him. The clawed hand was digging into his skin as he got lifted from his seat.
"We used the main doors."
It was the last thing the Batarian heard as his head was crushed like a watermelon.
Just like that, the whole planet was overrun by several thousand elite Shadows.
