Inosuke is sprawled on Muichiro's bed, while Muichiro sleeps peacefully, his hair covering his face. Genya is curled up in a chair, snoring loudly. The room is messy with game controllers and snack wrappers.
"This is unbelievable."
He starts cleaning, shoving the controllers into a bag. He kicks a wrapper at Inosuke's head.
"Mmph? Fight me!"
He jolts awake, looking ready to fight anyone, including Sanemi.
"Shut up and go back to sleep, pig boy."
Inosuke glares but falls back asleep, not recognizing Sanemi as a teacher right now. Muichiro stirs and sits up, rubbing his eyes.
"Is it morning?"
He looks at Sanemi blankly, then notices Giyuu is still in the living room.
"No. Go back to bed. And no more gaming till I say so."
"Okay."
He lays back down, not questioning why Sanemi is bossing him around. Muichiro has a calm personality and rarely questions authority figures.
Genya starts to wake up too, yawning and looking around for his brother. He spots Sanemi and waves.
"Brother! I was worried!"
Sanemi glares at him.
"You're grounded too, for not texting me."
"What?! But-"
He protests weakly, knowing it's pointless to argue. The other boys will probably get grounded too, for being at Giyuu's. Sanemi turns to the kitchen, deciding to make coffee for himself. He's going to need it to deal with the chaos of all these kids and his feelings for Giyuu.
The coffee machine starts to brew, and Sanemi leans against the counter, thinking about how he got into this situation. He steals a glance at Giyuu, who is still sleeping soundly. A hint of softness appears in his eyes, despite his usual harsh demeanor. Zenitsu and Tanjiro peek in, seeing Sanemi's expression.
"Is he smiling?"
Tanjiro shushes him, noticing it too but keeping quiet about it. Sanemi catches them watching and snaps back to his usual scowl.
"What are you two doing again?"
"Just making sure everyone is safe. We'll go back now."
He pulls Zenitsu away before Sanemi can yell. The coffee is done. Sanemi pours a cup and takes a sip, letting the warmth calm him. He's secretly amused by how Tanjiro is the one keeping Zenitsu in line. As dawn breaks, Giyuu stirs finally. He opens his eyes and spots Sanemi in the kitchen, looking disheveled from the night. Sanemi notices Giyuu's awake and stiffens, trying to act normal.
"You look like a mess."
He's using his usual insulting tone, but it lacks the venom he directs at others. He's trying to hide his nervousness at Giyuu's presence. Giyuu sits up, his messy hair falling over his face. He gives a slight whine of complaint at Sanemi's comment.
"Stop that noise."
He walks over, putting his coffee down. Giyuu stretches and accidentally makes another whiny sound, which makes Sanemi's ears redden.
"Damn it..."
He mutters under his breath again, thinking how adorable it is, despite him denying it. He knows Giyuu rarely shows this side around others. The kids can hear the whining and giggle quietly among themselves, picking up on Sanemi's flustered state.
"Stop laughing!"
He yells at them but then turns back to Giyuu, unable to stop looking at him. He's torn between being irritated and wanting to see more of Giyuu being cute Giyuu tilts his head, blinking sleepily at Sanemi. He doesn't realize he's being watched intensely. Sanemi clenches his fists.
"Get up and clean your place."
He orders, but it's more like a desperate attempt to distract himself from his growing attraction. Giyuu slowly stands, rubbing his eyes. He nods and starts to pick up a few things.
Sanemi hovers near him, watching his every move, as if afraid he'll disappear. He fights the urge to help him personally. The kids are now fully awake and observing the strange tension. They're whispering about how Giyuu's whines are making Sanemi act protective.
"Sanemi? Could you make breakfast? I need a proper shower and why are here six kids? Am I hallucination, because I know I got just three." Sanemi clears his throat.
"I'll make it. And they're here because they're idiots."
He gives a quick explanation, but he's secretly happy to cook for Giyuu. He adds under his breath.
"And no, you're not hallucinating. You're just clueless."
Giyuu blinks again, not understanding the jab. He walks towards the bathroom, leaving Sanemi with the kids who are snickering. Sanemi's hands tremble slightly as he opens the fridge. He starts gathering ingredients, cursing again when he thinks about how he's doing this for Giyuu. He mutters:
"I should be mad at him too, but damn it, he's too damn cute."
Inosuke overhears and blurts out.
"Mr. Sanemi likes Mr. Giyuu!"
The others gasp and Sanemi nearly drops the eggs.
"SHUT IT!"
He glares at Inosuke, his face turning bright red. The other kids burst into laughter, some pointing at his face. Sanemi stomps over to them, brandishing a spatula.
"One more word and no breakfast!"
He's furious but it's clear they hit the nail on the head. Giyuu can hear the commotion from the bathroom. Giyuu peeks out, still confused by the chaos.
"What's going on?"
Sanemi glares at the kids to keep them quiet, but they point at him again, making him look even more flustered. Sanemi can't stand it anymore and throws the spatula down.
"I'm cooking omurice! Stay in there!"
He tries to deflect the situation by focusing on the food, but his voice cracks. Giyuu closes the door again, still puzzled by the kids' behavior. They're having a blast seeing him so riled up over someone. Sanemi slams a pot on the stove, his mind racing. He mumbles to himself.
"I should've never stayed the night."
But he knows he would've anyway, because he secretly likes being near Giyuu. The kids are getting louder, mocking him by saying "Sanemi loves" and "omurice for his boyfriend." Tanjiro tries to calm them down but Muichiro joins in the teasing, saying they should ask Giyuu out for him. Nezuko covers her mouth to hide a smile.
Genya watches his brother suffer, feeling both amused and protective. Zenitsu is squealing with excitement, while Inosuke is making kissing noises. Sanemi finally turns back to them with a dangerous glint in his eyes.
"If you don't stop, I'll make your portion extra spicy."
He has a reputation for his spicy food. They all know he'll do it. Zenitsu whimpers at the threat, remembering last time. Genya steps in to save him.*
"Just let them be. They'll grow bored eventually." Sanemi grunts, but Genya's words don't help. The shower stops running and Giyuu is about to come out. Sanemi quickly adds extra spice anyway, determined to make them suffer for being so noisy.
Giyuu emerges in a fresh uniform, his damp hair making him look even more attractive. Sanemi tries to ignore that.
"Smells good."
He walks over to the counter, and the kids whisper loudly again, expecting drama.
"Yeah, it's spicy."
He serves the kids first, giving them the hottest portions. Giyuu sits next to him, noticing the tension.
"Are they alright?"
The kids start coughing and chugging water, making Sanemi smirk. He slides a normal portion to Giyuu.
"They're fine. They just like torturing themselves."
Giyuu nods, still clueless about the actual situation. He eats quietly, enjoying the food. Sanemi sneaks glances at him, then at the kids who are sweating profusely. Inosuke is trying to chug milk. Zenitsu is crying dramatically.
"Why does Mr. Sanemi hate us so much?"
Sanemi grins wider.
"Because you're annoying brats."
