Chapter 49 - Movie night

Giyuu tenses at the contact, his breath hitching slightly. He shoots Sanemi a warning look, but it's clear he's trying to maintain his composure in front of the kids.

"Sanemi..."

He whispers under his breath, his voice low and controlled. Sanemi leans back in his chair, a smirk playing on his lips as he presses his leg more insistently against Giyuu's.

"What? Can't handle a little contact?"

He whispers back, his tone dripping with playful challenge. Giyuu's jaw tightens, his grip on his chopsticks becoming white-knuckled. The kids are too busy eating to notice the tension between the two adults.

"You're being childish."

He mutters, trying to focus on his food while fighting the urge to react more strongly. Sanemi chuckles softly, clearly enjoying how much he's affecting Giyuu.

"Says the guy who blushes at everything."

He leans forward slightly, his leg still pressed against Giyuu's thigh, his voice dropping even lower.

"Maybe I should make you blush more often."

Giyuu feels his face heating up again, but he refuses to give Sanemi the satisfaction of seeing him flustered twice in one evening.

"Keep dreaming, Sanemi."

He says coolly, though his voice wavers slightly as he tries to maintain his calm demeanor.

The children are now discussing their favorite subjects in school, blissfully unaware of the tension between their teachers. Sanemi grins wider at Giyuu's response, clearly amused by his stubbornness.

"Oh, I don't need to dream. I can make it happen right here."

He suddenly moves his leg away, only to slide it between Giyuu's legs under the table, pressing against his inner thigh with deliberate slowness. Giyuu's eyes widen in shock, and he nearly chokes on his curry again. He quickly composes himself, shooting Sanemi a murderous glare.

"You're testing my patience."

He hisses through clenched teeth, his face now a deep shade of red as he struggles to keep his breathing steady. Sanemi leans back with a satisfied smirk, his eyes gleaming with triumph.

"And you're testing my self-control, Giyuu."

He purrs, enjoying the power he has over the usually stoic teacher. He doesn't remove his leg, instead shifting slightly to get more comfortable. Sanemi winces as Giyuu's kick connects, but he doesn't remove his leg completely.

"Ow! That hurt, you bastard."

He hisses under his breath, though there's a hint of amusement in his voice. The kids glance over briefly, but quickly return to their conversation.

The sound of raindrops hitting the windows fills the room, creating a soothing backdrop to the tense atmosphere at the table.

"Looks like it's getting late."

He says casually, finally withdrawing his leg from between Giyuu's. The rain intensifies, creating a cozy atmosphere as the group finishes their meal. The kids start gathering their things, preparing to head home. Giyuu helps clear the table, still shooting occasional glares at Sanemi who is now pretending to be innocent. Genya walks over to Muichiro and plants a gentle kiss on his cheek, causing the younger boy to blush slightly.

"Genya, not in front of everyone..."

He mumbles, though he doesn't pull away from the affectionate gesture. Sanemi rolls his eyes at the display of affection, but there's a hint of fondness in his expression as he watches his brother and Muichiro.

"Get a room, you two."

He teases, ruffling Genya's hair as he passes by. Genya sticks his tongue out at Sanemi, wrapping an arm around Muichiro's waist protectively.

"Jealous, Nemi?"

The other kids giggle at the interaction, and even Giyuu can't help but crack a small smile at the playful banter. Sanemi scoffs, crossing his arms defensively.

"As if. I just don't want to see my brother being gross in my living room."

He shoots a pointed look at Muichiro, who sticks his tongue out back at him in response. Sanemi suddenly grabs Giyuu by the collar and pulls him in for a quick, rough kiss on the lips.

"See? This is how you show affection properly."

He smirks against Giyuu's mouth, completely ignoring the kids' shocked expressions and Genya's whistle. Giyuu freezes for a moment, his eyes wide with surprise before he pushes Sanemi away with a mix of embarrassment and annoyance.

"Sanemi! There are children present!"

His face is bright red again, and he quickly wipes his mouth with the back of his hand while the kids start making gagging sounds. Sanemi laughs loudly, clearly enjoying the chaos he's caused.

"What? Can't handle a little public display of affection?"

He winks at Giyuu, thoroughly enjoying the teacher's flustered state. Nezuko is now chanting "Giyuu-san and Sanemi-san sitting in a tree!" while giggling uncontrollably. Giyuu covers his face with his hands, mortified by the chanting Nezuko.

"You're impossible..."

He mutters, peeking through his fingers at Sanemi who's standing there with a triumphant grin. Genya and Muichiro are trying to calm the kids down, but they're also struggling to contain their laughter. The rain continues to pour outside as the group settles in for movie night. Inosuke came over after dinner and Sanemi is not happy with it but didn't say anything. The kids have chosen a Disney film, and everyone has taken their usual spots on the couch.

"Move over, brats."

He nudges Inosuke, who's sprawled across half the couch, trying to make space for himself next to Giyuu.

Inosuke grumbles but shifts, allowing Sanemi to sit down. The movie starts playing, and Sanemi immediately drapes an arm over Giyuu's shoulders, pulling him closer.

"Comfy?"

He asks with a smirk, his fingers idly playing with Giyuu's hair. Giyuu stiffens at the contact but doesn't pull away, knowing it would only encourage Sanemi further. He tries to focus on the movie, but Sanemi's hand is distracting.

"Just watch the movie, Sanemi."

He whispers, trying to sound stern but his voice comes out softer than intended. Sanemi chuckles and leans in, his breath warm against Giyuu's ear.

"I'd rather watch you squirm."

He whispers back, his hand moving to massage the back of Giyuu's neck while the kids are completely engrossed in the film. Giyuu shivers involuntarily at the touch, his composure slipping. He shoots Sanemi a warning look, but the other man just grins mischievously.

"What's wrong? You're getting all tense again."

He continues his ministrations, his thumb pressing into a particularly sensitive spot on Giyuu's neck. Sanemi pulls Giyuu into a proper embrace, wrapping both arms around him and effectively trapping him against his chest. The kids don't even notice, too entertained by the movie.

"Better now?"

He murmurs, his voice softer and more genuine this time as he rests his chin on Giyuu's head. Giyuu sighs in defeat, reluctantly relaxing into Sanemi's hold. He can feel the steady rhythm of Sanemi's heartbeat against his back, and it's oddly comforting despite the teasing earlier.

"You're such a pain..."

He mumbles, but there's no real heat behind his words as he unconsciously leans back into Sanemi's warmth. Sanemi tightens his hold slightly, a satisfied smile on his face as he watches the movie over Giyuu's shoulder. He occasionally runs his fingers through Giyuu's hair, enjoying the peaceful moment.

"But you love me anyway."

He says quietly, a hint of vulnerability in his voice that only Giyuu can detect. Suddenly, Nezuko jumps up from her seat and starts running around the living room, giggling and making little growling sounds.

"Oniichan! Look at me!"

She shouts to Tanjiro, who laughs and claps his hands in encouragement. Tanjiro smiles brightly at his sister's antics, while Muichiro watches with a small smile of his own.

"Careful, Nezuko! Don't knock anything over!"

Sanemi glances at the running girl, his grip on Giyuu not loosening despite the distraction. Nezuko does a little spin, her long hair flowing around her. She then pretends to chase after an invisible demon, making dramatic sounds.

"I'll protect everyone!"

Giyuu watches her with a mix of amusement and fondness, his earlier tension forgotten as he observes the children having fun. Inosuke suddenly stands up, joining Nezuko in her imaginary battle.

"I'm the strongest! I'll fight too!"

He roars, striking a pose that makes the others laugh.

"Oi, keep it down! Some of us are trying to enjoy the movie quietly."

He calls out, though there's a hint of amusement in his voice as well.
