Chapter 69 - The night

Mitsuri spins Obanai around, giggling at his rare compliance.

"You're much better at dancing than you think, Obanai!"

She twirls him again, completely oblivious to the tension between their friends across the room. Obanai's snake hisses slightly as he gets dizzy from the spinning, but he maintains his composure.

"I'm only dancing with you because I want to."

He says defensively, though his actions betray his true feelings as he holds her closer.

Mitsuri laughs and leans in closer to him, her pink hair brushing against his face.

"Of course! You're so sweet, Obanai!"

She teases, completely unaware of how her proximity affects him, while Sanemi watches them with growing irritation. Obanai's face turns slightly red at her proximity, and he tries to hide it by looking away.

"Sweet? I'm not sweet... I'm dangerous."

He mumbles, though his voice lacks its usual bite as he continues to dance with her. Mitsuri grins at his denial, finding his attempt to be tough endearing.

"Whatever you say, my dangerous snake!"

She says playfully, winking at him while Sanemi's grip on Giyuu tightens in annoyance. Sanemi freezes for a moment as Giyuu kisses him, caught off guard by the public display of affection.

"What the- Giyuu, not here..."

He whispers harshly, though his cheeks flush slightly despite his protest. Giyuu pulls back slightly, looking at Sanemi with those emotionless eyes that somehow hold a hint of mischief.

"You were being too possessive."

He states matter-of-factly, while Obanai watches the interaction with narrowed eyes.

The party continues with tensions running high. Sanemi and Giyuu's relationship becomes apparent, while Obanai tries to win Mitsuri's attention through dance. The atmosphere is charged with jealousy and hidden feelings. Giyuu suddenly pulls Sanemi closer, whispering something that makes the math teacher's face turn red.

"You're cute when you're jealous."

Sanemi sputters in response, completely flustered by Giyuu's unexpected compliment. The faster tempo of the music causes the atmosphere to shift again. Mitsuri's movements become more energetic, while Obanai tries to keep up with her pace.

"This is my favorite part!"

She exclaims excitedly, her pink hair flying as she twirls and moves with newfound enthusiasm. Sanemi and Giyuu join the faster rhythm, though Sanemi seems more focused on maintaining his composure than dancing properly.

"Damn it... this is getting ridiculous."

He grumbles, yet he doesn't stop dancing with Giyuu, who moves with surprising grace. Obanai finds himself struggling to match Mitsuri's energy, his movements becoming more stiff and awkward.

"How does she have so much stamina..."

He mutters under his breath, clearly out of breath from trying to keep up with her wild dance style. Mitsuri suddenly dips Obanai dramatically, catching him off guard as he nearly falls.

"Mitsuri!"

He exclaims in surprise, his usual stoic expression breaking as he hangs in her arms. Mitsuri giggles and holds him up effortlessly, clearly enjoying his flustered state.

"See? I told you I could lead!"

She teases, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she slowly brings him back up. Obanai's face is completely red now, a mix of embarrassment and something else. He adjusts his bandages with shaky hands.

"That was... unnecessary."

He tries to regain his composure, but his voice comes out softer than usual. Rengoku and Tengen make quite the sight as they dance together, their loud personalities matching the music's energy perfectly.

"Let's show them how it's done, Tengen!"

He shouts enthusiastically, his fiery spirit igniting the room.

The party continues with Tengen and Rengoku's flashy dance moves stealing the spotlight. Obanai is still recovering from Mitsuri's dip, while Sanemi and Giyuu maintain their own private moment. As the night deepens, the party begins to wind down. The music fades to a softer melody, and the lights dim slightly. Giyuu notices Sanemi starting to get tired, his usual sharp demeanor softening in the darkness. The dance floor is nearly empty now, with only a few stragglers swaying lazily. Giyuu leads Sanemi to a quiet corner, away from prying eyes.

"You should rest, Sanemi."

He says quietly, his hand gently touching Sanemi's arm. Sanemi leans against the wall, his eyelids heavy with exhaustion.

"Tch... I'm not tired."

He protests weakly, though his body betrays him as he slumps slightly. Giyuu steps closer, his presence protective and calming.

"You've been on your feet all night. Stop being stubborn."

He speaks with rare assertiveness, his blue eyes fixed on Sanemi's tired face. Sanemi suddenly grabs Giyuu by the collar, pulling him into a heated kiss. The exhaustion melts away as passion takes over.

"Shut up... I'll show you stubborn."

He growls against Giyuu's lips, pressing him against the wall with surprising strength. Giyuu responds by wrapping his arms around Sanemi's neck, deepening the kiss. His usually stoic demeanor is completely forgotten in this moment.

"Mine... only mine."

He whispers possessively between kisses, his hands roaming over Giyuu's body with clear intent. Makio who is still not drunk drive the kids and the two men at home. The kids went instantly to bed, because they are really tired.

Sanemi and Giyuu stumble into their bedroom, still locked in a passionate embrace. Sanemi kicks the door shut behind them.

"Finally... alone."

He pushes Giyuu onto the bed, his eyes dark with desire. The bedroom is dimly lit, creating an intimate atmosphere. Sanemi towers over Giyuu on the bed, their kisses becoming more urgent and intense as they give in to their desires. Sanemi dominates the encounter, his rough hands exploring every inch of Giyuu's body. The sounds of their passionate lovemaking fill the room. Giyuu, usually so composed, becomes vocal and responsive under Sanemi's touch, his hair spread out on the pillow like a dark halo. After their intense session, Sanemi collapses beside Giyuu, both of them breathing heavily.

"You're... such a messy bottom."

He teases breathlessly, tracing a finger along Giyuu's jawline with surprising gentleness. Giyuu turns to face Sanemi, his cheeks flushed and hair disheveled.

"And you're still too loud."

He retorts with a rare smirk, pulling the blanket over them both. The morning sun filters through the curtains as the household begins to stir. The sounds of breakfast preparation can be heard from the kitchen.

"Nezuko, Tanjiro, Muichiro, time for breakfast."

He calls out while making tea in the kitchen, wearing one of Sanemi's oversized shirts. The sound of footsteps and sleepy yawns fills the house as the children emerge from their rooms.

"Good morning, Giyuu-san."

He greets politely, already dressed for school despite his messy hair. Muichiro shuffles in last, rubbing his eyes and looking slightly grumpy.

"Can I have extra toast today?"

He asks, his voice still thick with sleep as he sits at the table.

"Sure, Muichiro. Just don't eat it all like last time."

He sets down plates of food, ruffling Muichiro's hair affectionately as he passes by.

"Oi, where's my coffee?"

Sanemi emerges from the bedroom, his hair equally messy as he joins the breakfast scene. Giyuu hands Sanemi a steaming mug without missing a beat.

"Here. And fix your hair, you look like a bird's nest."

The children giggle at the comment while Sanemi scowls, though there's no real anger in his expression. There's a loud thud and a startled yelp as Genya tumbles down the stairs.

"GENYA! Are you trying to give me a heart attack first thing in the morning?!"

Sanemi jumps up from his seat, coffee nearly spilling. Genya sits up groggily at the bottom of the stairs, rubbing his head.

"Sorry... my alarm didn't go off."

He mumbles sheepishly, avoiding eye contact with his brother. Sanemi stalks over to Genya, checking him for injuries while scolding.

"You need to be more careful! What if you broke something?"

Giyuu watches the interaction with concern, already getting up to check on Genya himself. Genya winces as Giyuu examines him.

"You might have a bruise, but nothing serious. Just be more careful next time."

He helps Genya up, his expression softening with paternal concern.
