Evelin's POV
I flashed him a smile and leaned closer, lifting my glass to meet his with a gentle clink.
The crystal-clear chime echoed through the room.
Jimmy watched me intently as I tilted my head back, draining the red wine in one fluid gulp. Only after I finished did he raise his own glass and follow suit.
"Eve, I love you," Jimmy whispered, his voice so soft I almost missed it.
I gave him a gentle smile. "I know."
"You've loved me from the very beginning and never stopped."
Jimmy topped off both our glasses. "Exactly. And when you tracked me down—even though I kept acting like I didn't want us to work things out—honestly, I was over the moon that you came."
I nodded, grinning as I swirled the wine in my glass. "I know. That's just how deep your love runs."
"I love you so much it scares me—I'm petrified of losing you now that I finally have you back. But Eve, you're the crazy risk I'd take again and again," Jimmy said, his voice thick with emotion.
