I looked up at Evelin. "Eve, everything you're going through right now... it's all my fault. Being with me means my father—that psycho—will keep coming for you. There's no telling what his next move will be."
Nobody could predict a lunatic's next step.
And this particular lunatic had untraceable money and a crew of Hamilton turncoats ready to follow him into hell. He could pull off anything.
"This disaster isn't on you—it's all your father's doing!" Eve shot back. "You're just as much a victim."
My lashes fluttered. A victim... when was the last time someone called me that?
"And if you're really asking whether I still want to be with you, the answer is yes. Jimmy Hamilton, I'm staying right here with you. Your father? Let me handle him—I'll take care of it!"
My brows knitted together. "Do you hear yourself right now? You want to take him on? Do you have any clue what kind of sick shit he's capable of?"
