Evelin's POV
"You're still young. One day, you'll meet someone even better—someone truly worth spending your life with," Uncle Gregory said.
"No, I won't," I said firmly. "To me, he's already the best there is. Uncle, he's the one I'd risk my life to protect. I really love him."
Uncle Gregory just stared at me, visibly disappointed.
After a long moment, he sighed, "Guess there's no convincing you."
"That's right," I replied.
Uncle Gregory's expression tightened as if he'd been sucker punched. I knew that while he was the iron-fisted head of the Thor family to everyone else, he always seemed helpless when it came to me.
"Alright, go see your grandma. She's been missing you like crazy. I didn't tell her about last night, so don't let it slip," Uncle Gregory said, waving me off.
I got to my feet, casting a hesitant look toward Jimmy, who was still sitting down.
"What, you think I'm gonna eat him or something?" Uncle Gregory snorted.
