Evelin's POV
That night, I sprawled across my bed, staring at the ceiling with restless energy.
Back at the hotel, I'd shared a bed with Jimmy.
Now that we were in separate rooms again, I couldn't stop wondering if he was lying awake too.
I'd already given him strict instructions—no sleeping pills. If insomnia hit, he should call me. I'd be his remedy.
But midnight had come and gone, and my phone stayed silent.
'He must've drifted off after all,' I thought.
Still, this nagging worry wouldn't let me rest until I saw for myself.
I slipped from my bed and padded toward the guest room where Jimmy was staying.
My eyes adjusted to the darkness easily—no need for lights as I moved like a ghost through the hallway.
Pushing open his door, I found Jimmy perched by the window, a wine bottle at his elbow.
I blinked, startled. "You're still up?"
Jimmy looked equally surprised to see me. "What brings you here?"
