(Third Person POV)
Mael stared at the man, "Is now the time to criticize me?" He asked with a frown, "Embarrassing, you say? Are you more embarrassed by my sword skills or being tied up to a pole?!"
The man nodded, "Your swordsmanship."
Mael sighed, "You..." He said, "What are you supposed to be?"
"My name is Minato." He said seriously, "I am a Swordmaster. My dojo was attacked and burned down not too long ago and I was kept captive here, watching these men drag Kitsune into the fort. It appears they had meant to sell them to the Benihime."
Mael frowned, "A bit too much information, but alright." He said, "Listen, there are still others outside by the river."
Minato looked to the side, "You mean them?"
Mael looked to see the other five men rushing inside the fort entrance, holding their weapons.
"Oi!!" one of them exclaimed, "What the hell are you doing?!"
Mael pulled out his pistol and aimed at him, "Fuck off."
He pulled the trigger, firing a shot and hitting him in the head. Blood sprayed everywhere as the bandit collapsed to the ground, causing everyone to scatter in a panic.
"Gun!" one of them shouted, "He's got a gun!!"
Mael rushed to the nearest one, swinging his sword at him. He was able to cut his arm halfway through, causing him to jerk back in pain.
"Aghh!" the man shouted as Mael aimed his gun, the certain click being heard
As the loud sound of the gunshot was heard, smoke covered where the man's head was as blood and brain bits flew everywhere. Minato stood there, his hands raised as he watched Mael rush at another man, cutting him with a wild swing. The man had his shoulder cleaved through, only for Mael to pull his blade out and hit him with the pistol in the face.
As he collapsed to the ground, a certain click was heard, and Mael shot him in the chest. The last two lunged at Mael, their weapons ready and he simply blocked one of them with his katana, stepping to the side as the other one swung his weapon down.
"Fuck..." Mael pushed one away and slashed at the other one, the blade cutting through his neck and causing blood to spray everywhere, "There ya go."
"Shit!" the other one said, "What the hell are you?!"
Mael shot him in the chest, causing his body to jerk back violently and fall to the ground. As the other one was stumbling, holding his neck as blood poured of the wound, Mael wasted no time and driving his blade through his chest with a single thrust.
"Uggh...." he groaned as his eyes whitened out
Mael pulled his blade out and the man's corpse fell on the ground with a hard thud, "Damn..." He said, "That was rather smooth..."
Minato simply looked at him, "Smooth?" He said, "You're lucky you had a tanzetsu, being able to shoot at them! And they were terrible fighters!!"
Mael put his gun away. "Don't insult me!" He said, "I just saved you."
"With swordsmanship like that..." Minato frowned, "I would have rather been stuck to that pole for much longer."
"Then how about I put you back there." Mael scowled
As this happened, the door to the inside of the fort opened, "Mael!" Cecilia shouted, holding a young woman with orange hair in her arms, "Help me! Two of them are seriously injured!"
Mael sheathed his blade, "What?" He said as he ran over, "What's wrong?!"
He reached them, followed by Minato, and saw that two other women were limping out. One of them was a thin and tall woman with black fox ears, jet black hair, and beautiful blue eyes. She was clutching her midsection, which had a serious bruise as well as two gashes. The one who held her was a short woman with grey hair and white fox ears, a busty build on her.
Mael didn't have time to admire their beauty, and saw that the one that Cecila was holding had a stab wound in her leg, which she was clutching.
"What the hell happened to them?" Mael said, "They're bleeding!"
"The men must've stabbed them." Cecilia said
"Let me see." Minato said as they set her down, "Oh, this is bad. Bring me some rags and one of those gourds of sake these men were drinking from; we have to clean the wound and stop the bleeding."
"A-Argh..." the woman said, "Dammnit..."
Minato looked at Mael, "Press down hard on her wound." He said, "Keep pressure on her. We have to make a tourniquet. Is the other one okay?"
"I'm fine." The black-haired one said, "Please, help her."
Minato nodded, "Yes." He said as he looked at Mael, "Thank you for helping us, stranger."
"Who knows what would have happened without you."

Cecilia was washing off some of the dried blood on the black-haired woman, "Are you feeling okay?" She said while smiling nervously, "Hopefully the soap doesn't burn your open gashes."
They were in a camp outside the fort, having escaped almost right away. Minato and Mael had carried the injured women and taken them deep within the forest to catch their breath and settle down, making sure their wounds were fine.
The woman was wincing slightly, "It's okay...."
"What's your name?" Cecilia asked
"I am Hinami." she said, "That is my sister, Rumi."
She gestured at the grey-haired one who was in front of them, holding the orange-haired woman.
"Oh, pretty name." Cecilia smiled
"That is Hanami." Hinami said, "My sister as well. We're not blood-related, but we call each other that due to being brethren and fellow Shrine Kitsune."
"O-Oh. Okay." Cecilia said
Hanami was lying her head on Rumi's lap, panting slightly, "I am glad that my wound was cared for." She said softly, looking at her leg which was bandaged up, "Those wretched humans, I hope they fucking rot in the hells...."
"Do not say such vulgar words." Rumi told, "It is unbecoming of a Kitsune."
"Tch...." Hanami said
Hinami smiled as she looked at Cecilia, "And you are?" She said, gently touching her bandaged midsection, "What strange powers you have."
"I'm Cecilia...." She said, "I'm a foreigner..."
"A Traveler." Rumi spoke up, "I can tell..."
"Yes....I guess so..." Cecilia said
"Is the other one a Traveler?" Hinami asked
"Yes..." Cecilia asked
They all looked over to Mael, who was standing several dozen meters away, standing guard at the edge of the camp.
"He has a powerful spirit." Hinami said, "A restless one. It is very.....menacing."
"Ren sent him?" Rumi asked, "Did she trust someone as unpredictable as that wild spirit?"
"Mael is a good guy." Cecilia said
"So it seems." Hinami nodded
Over to Mael, he was looking ahead when the System appeared in front of him.
[Task Completed: Help The Kitsune]

"Huh?" Mael said with a frown, "A pistol?"
A light appeared in the middle of the air and a black pistol appeared in front of him, falling down to the ground. He caught it and lifted it up, seeing that it was slightly longer and heavier than the one he had, with golden trimming, the wood was a bit shinier.

"Whoa whoa...." Mael thought to himself, "What's with all this? A repeating pistol? What kind of power are you giving me, System???? I'm going to neglect the sword at this rate....!!"
As he looked at the Pistol, the System switched yet again.
