As Yi Chen's spiritual energy made its way inside the sword, it was faced with a strong opposing force which not only tried to overpower it but, while at it, also invaded his own body from other contact points, rushing towards his spiritual sea.
Even though it was Yi Chen's first time attempting something like this, he knew that allowing the invading spiritual energy to make its way to his spiritual sea would be similar to inviting a disaster, so using another portion of his spiritual energy, he met it head-on.

One wants to make its way towards the spiritual sea, while the other wants to push the other one out.
At the same time, a similar battle was also taking place inside the sword.
Yi Chen was trying to guide his spiritual energy towards the sword's spirit imprint placed in the middle of the blade, while the energy being emitted by the imprint was trying its best not to let that happen.
It was clearly a battle of attrition.
