Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Severus and Harry, the Most Complex Duo

Everyone was clearly more interested in Harry's new weapons than in why Professor Snape had specifically targeted him moments ago.

Someone had said earlier that the black gun was for killing and the white gun was for saving people.

But no one had actually seen how the white gun healed.

The wizards who had been sneering at Muggle weapons now stared blankly at the young wizard who had explained what a gun was.

"Are Muggle guns really that powerful?"

It wasn't that they hadn't seen destructive spells before—but they had never seen an alchemical item behave like that.

And unlike spells, a weapon could theoretically be mass-produced.

Of course, the primary thing attracting them was simple:

Harry's dual pistols looked ridiculously cool.

Which young wizard could resist something like that?

"I… I think so?" the young wizard stammered.

He had only ever seen Muggle guns, but he didn't actually know how strong they were.

And Harry's guns were clearly… well, special.

How was he supposed to explain that?

A bitter, helpless expression spread across his face.

Meanwhile, everyone's attention returned to the previous question.

Only Draco muttered under his breath from time to time, with phrases like "detestable Potter" and "stupid Harry."

But his jealous eyes betrayed him completely.

He just couldn't accept that Harry had won such incredible weapons.

Draco clearly believed that if he had answered correctly earlier, the Twin Guns would belong to him.

Right now, Draco Malfoy was absolutely drowning in envy.

But no one paid attention to him—not even Aiden, who only cast him a brief glance.

Everyone was focused on the answer analysis—including Harry.

Perhaps Harry wanted the truth most of all.

[Question: Why is Severus Snape so special towards Harry?]

[Answer A: James Potter and Lily Potter (Evans) are confirmed as Harry's parents. Therefore, Answer A is incorrect.]

[Answer B: Although Harry grew up with his aunt and uncle and suffered unfair treatment, this does not match Snape's childhood experience. Therefore, Answer B is incorrect.]

[Answer C: Snape targets Harry entirely out of his own will and not at Dumbledore's instruction. Therefore, Answer C is incorrect.]

[Answer D: Harry has the face of the person Snape hated the most, but the eyes of the person Snape loved the most. If Harry's behavior weren't so similar to the person Snape hated from his youth, Snape wouldn't dislike him so much. However, Snape's feelings toward Harry have always been special. Therefore, Answer D is correct.]

When Snape saw the explanation for Answer B, his heart pounded violently.

He really feared this damned [Live Broadcast Q&A System] would reveal his childhood.

For Snape, that was the most terrifying possibility.

No one wanted their painful past exposed.

But when he saw the final explanation, Snape's expression twisted into something incredibly complex.

Harry's expression was no better.

When the system mentioned Harry's childhood, he felt a deep wave of embarrassment.

He didn't want his suffering under the Dursleys broadcasted for all Hogwarts to hear.

But when he reached the fourth answer—Harry froze.

Snape loved someone whose eyes he had inherited.

He instinctively looked up at the high platform.

His gaze collided with Snape's dark eyes—filled with a storm of complicated emotion.

"What does this even mean…?" Harry's chest tightened.

For someone who had been targeted constantly by Snape since his first year, Harry was probably the one who disliked Snape the most—aside from Ron and half of Gryffindor.

But now…

His resentment twisted into confusion, disbelief, and something he couldn't even name.

If the text was taken literally—

Snape hated his father.

Snape loved his mother.

And Harry had inherited both.

"What do you think this means? That Professor Snape both hates Harry and deeply loves him?" Blaise asked slyly, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

Daphne Greengrass glared at him.

"Don't talk nonsense! The analysis says Professor Snape's feelings are special, not… whatever you're implying."

Because of the fourth answer, both Slytherin and Gryffindor erupted into heated discussion.

Snape constantly targeted Gryffindor, and most had assumed he simply couldn't stand Harry or the fact that he was a Gryffindor.

Who knew the situation was so complicated?

"George, Fred—what do you two think?" Wood asked, leaning over. "You're clever. You must have some ideas."

George and Fred exchanged a look.

Then they said in perfect unison:

"What else is there to think? The analysis literally says the old bat Snape hates Harry's father and deeply loves Harry's mother."

George nodded seriously. "It's very likely Harry's dad stole Harry's mum away."

Fred added enthusiastically, "Exactly! The old bat must've lost to Harry's father when they were both trying to win Harry's mother. No wonder he hates Harry so much!"

Although the twins' phrasing was roundabout, their meaning was crystal clear.

Wood and the rest of Gryffindor understood immediately.

"So that's it… maybe," Wood muttered thoughtfully, stroking his chin.

The twins' theory fit the analysis rather well.

But no one knew whether the true story matched it exactly.

Of course, since George and Fred said it loudly, most of Gryffindor heard it. Then the Hufflepuffs heard it.

Then Ravenclaw heard it.

Then finally—Slytherin heard it.

The moment the rumor entered Slytherin territory…

The entire house fell into total silence.

Little snakes glanced at each other awkwardly, their expressions filled with disbelief.

After all, the version that reached them somehow became:

"Harry's mother stole away Snape's most beloved man."

This was…

Awkward.

Very awkward.

Well… never mind. I'll just send out this draft.
