Since a conflict between them was inevitable, Tom naturally wanted to obtain more rewards to ensure he could stand against Dumbledore after his resurrection.

Since the secret had already been exposed, Tom no longer cared about revealing it further, and what he truly wanted now was information about the Resurrection Stone, as its appearance in the options meant it had some connection to him.
As for the secret of Horcruxes, once Dumbledore knew the name, it no longer held much value.
What Tom considered now was that Dumbledore likely did not know how many Horcruxes existed, and even he himself was not entirely certain of the number.
At the same time, he needed to find an opportunity to hide the diary more carefully.
His soul had been restored, but without a physical body, the situation felt awkward.
No matter what, he needed to regain a body as soon as possible.

That small change made him seem like a completely different person.
Lockhart and Cedric Diggory could sense the difference but did not understand it.
Professor McGonagall, however, understood.
She knew Snape's past.

He had heard of it before.

But now, he silently added it to his list of possibilities.
Time magic was dangerous.
Unpredictable.
But that did not matter.
If it could bring her back, any price would be worth paying.
His hand tightened around his robe.
His thoughts were restless.
If Harry Potter were here and saw this side of Snape, all because of his mother, he would not believe it.
Even Cedric was stunned.
This was not the Snape he knew.
Still, it was not hard to guess.
Resurrection.
That was the key.
"Does Professor Snape also have someone he wants to bring back?" Cedric wondered silently.
Lockhart, on the other hand, had far simpler thoughts.
He did not carry such heavy obsessions.
He only wanted to survive this year.
And avoid that cursed position.
