Chapter 7 - Ch 7: Making A Wish Using Doraemon's Gadget

Arriving at Nobita's iconic house, which looked exactly like the one in the anime, I finally got to see the real-life Nobita's mother, Tamako Nobi.

She was a slim woman with black hair and modest B- or C-cup breasts hidden behind that pink blouse above the yellow skirt.

The round glasses on her eyes were like Nobita's, giving her a simple housewife look. But because of the anime, I knew that only when those glasses were removed would her true appearance, one that could rival a celebrity, be revealed.

Naturally, Nobita's mother was also on my target list, and I really wanted to take off her glasses along with her clothes to see that hidden beauty for myself.

But now wasn't the time to make a move, so I simply acted according to my age, introduced myself cutely, gave her a few compliments on her beauty, and went straight to Nobita's room.

There, I saw Doraemon, the small blue robot cat himself, sitting on the side and reading comics.

After greeting him, I handed him the box of dorayaki I'd bought earlier with Nobita before coming here.

Before I could even explain what it was, Doraemon's nose twitched as he caught the aroma, and seeing me hold out the box, he jumped up in surprise.

"Are these dorayaki for me?"

"Yes. I was coming here for the first time and thought it'd be rude to come empty-handed. So I asked Nobita what you liked and bought these. You like them, right?"

I smiled innocently as I gave my preplanned excuse.

"Really? You're such a nice guy, Takashi!"

Once he got the confirmation, Doraemon immediately took the box, opened it, and after taking one out, sniffed it with an intoxicated look before happily munching away.

Using the dorayaki as an excuse, I started chatting with him and Nobita.

Time passed quickly. Soon, Doraemon had finished all the dorayaki, and I realized it was time.

Without wasting another moment, I asked curiously,

"Say, Doraemon, I heard you have all kinds of gadgets?"

"What?" Doraemon, who had just finished the last dorayaki, suddenly turned around and looked over.

"Of course! Doraemon is super powerful. He has all kinds of amazing gadgets."

Nobita, who was reading a comic, immediately spoke up from the side—just as we had planned, leaving Doraemon no room to dodge the question.

"Really?" I quickly changed my expression to one of surprise and asked, "Then, say, do you have any gadget that can help people realize their wishes?"

"This kind of gadget…" Doraemon hesitated, looking like he was trying to decide whether to say yes or no. Seeing this, I signaled Nobita with my eyes.

Catching on to the hint, Nobita jumped up and shouted,

"Of course he does!"

"Nobita…" Doraemon gave him a helpless look.

"Really? Can you let me see it?" I asked with a curious smile.

"It's okay to take a look, but what are you going to do with it?" Doraemon asked. He didn't seem particularly wary of me, more like a friend just wanting to make sure I wouldn't use it for anything strange.

"Actually, I have a small wish in my heart," I said, touching my nose and smiling. "But I don't know if it can really come true."

"What kind of wish?" Doraemon asked.

"Won't it fail if I say it out loud?" I replied with a grin.

"Is that so?" Doraemon muttered, losing interest. "If it's just a small wish, I'll look for it…"

He started rummaging through his pocket. After searching around for a while, he finally pulled out a gadget.

"Black Market Merchant!"

It was a small, telephone booth–sized shop, entirely black, with a huge plaque displaying its name and a motto below:

[Name your wish, pay your price.]

"As long as you go inside and pay the merchant, small wishes can come true," Doraemon explained.

"Really? Then let me try."

I stepped forward, reached into my pocket, and took out a ten-thousand-yen note.

"Ten thousand yen?!" Doraemon was stunned when he saw the amount. Even though Nobita already knew how rich I was, he still couldn't hide the envy and surprise on his face.

"Can this help me make a big wish?" I asked with a grin, patting Doraemon's head.

"Not a big wish. The merchant is greedy, and wishes that are too big can't be fulfilled without enough money," Doraemon said quickly.

"Oh, so it's all about money? Then I have no worries."

This time, I reached into my pocket again and pulled out a stack of ten-thousand-yen bills.

"This…!"

Nobita and Doraemon were both dumbfounded.

I took out two bills and handed them to the pair. "Since you brought out this gadget and let me make a wish, take this as a thank-you gift."

"G-Give it to us?!" Doraemon stammered, reaching out hesitantly to accept the note. This was more than his pocket money for several months. Was I seriously just handing it to him?

Even Nobita was frozen in shock at my generosity.

"It's fine. My monthly allowance is five hundred thousand yen. No big deal," I casually gave out a number.

"Five… five hundred thousand?!"

Both of them were speechless.

"What kind of family is this?" Nobita muttered. "Isn't that even richer than Suneo?"

"Then, can I make my wish now?" I asked, pointing at the gadget with a smile.

"Ah? Ah, please! Please go ahead!" Nobita and Doraemon snapped out of it, quickly smiling flatteringly as they opened the gadget's door for me.

"Thank you."

I nodded politely, stepped inside, and found a pot-bellied merchant robot waiting there.

Once inside, I pulled out a few cards, each with a balance of 5 million yen, making it a total of twenty million yen. I clasped my hands together, closed my eyes, and made my wish.

After about a minute, I felt the change in my body, and I opened my eyes, only to see that three cards had vanished.

Realizing that my plan had actually worked, I smiled in satisfaction, picked up the remaining cards, and stepped back out.

"I'm done."

"What wish did you make?" Doraemon and Nobita asked curiously. What kind of wish would someone that rich make?

"It's a secret."

I put a finger to my lips and smiled mysteriously while thinking, 'You won't know, but your dear Shizuka's mother will know soon, hehe.'
