"Quick shot!"
Malik released his first arrow.
The iron-clad arrow pierced through the air like a shooting star through the night sky and found its mark in the wood of the shield.
Fang Raon raised his shield and blocked the arrow, but it still went cleanly through—the iron tip of the arrow emerging through the other side.
'Iron arrows? That bow is definitely Ranger's starting weapon, but these arrows aren't. He must've bought these.
'This is bad, but how many of those does he have?'
Malik didn't look panicked that his first arrow didn't kill his target, and then he pulled out another arrow from his quiver.
This time around it was a wooden arrow with a sharp tip. It wasn't the same ironclad arrow as the other one.
'I wasted one of my valuable iron arrows on this moron. I still have two of them, so hopefully I don't have to use them!'
[Durability: 60/100]
Fang Raon checked the durability on his shield, and it wasn't looking good.
He couldn't use his shield to block all the arrows, or soon he would be without any shield.
Malik fired another arrow.
It came quickly, but Fang Raon barely moved his head out of the way, and it grazed past him.
'There is about thirty meters distance between us, and it doesn't even take a second for the arrow to travel that distance.
'I don't have the speed or reactive ability to dodge the arrow.'
Fang Raon thought and knew that in an open field such as this, he was never going to win against Ranger.
Warrior simply wasn't that strong of a class in the early game. It wasn't far-fetched to say that it was one of the weakest.
Helper, of course, didn't count, as it was a support class.
With the Tank class, he could use Intimidation, which was one of the starting skills, and use it on Malik to freeze him.
With the Mage class, he could overpower Malik with Fireball spells, which were much stronger than shooting arrows.
And there was also Mage class' Earth Wall, another starting spell, which could be used to block all those arrows.
With the Assassin class, he would have enough speed to cross the distance and overpower him with his daggers.
Warrior simply didn't have anything else up his sleeve.
'I can't let Malik dictate the pace of the fight.'
Fang Raon saw something in the corner of his eyes and suddenly started running towards the players.
The players wondered why he was coming at them, and Fang Raon just pushed through them and entered the Training Hall.
He climbed up the stairs and disappeared into the second floor.
"…Did he run away, haha?`"
"Haha, he did!"
Malik's friends laughed mockingly.
However, Malik, Lionel, and several other players realized that he wasn't running away but forcing Malik to make a decision.
Fang Raon wanted to change the scenery of the fight to indoors, where Ranger had less of an advantage.
Indoors, Warriors such as Fang Raon would have more cover and ways to fight back, unlike in the open yard.
However.
"Why the hell would I go inside?"
Malik said with a laugh and stayed rooted outside.
He didn't care how this made him look. He wasn't going to abandon his advantage in a deathmatch.
CRACK! SHATTER!
In that moment, one of the windows shattered as a shield, and a sword-wielding young man jumped out of the building.
He was falling toward Malik, whose eyes reflected the sight of the coldness of Fang Raon's eyes.
'He knew that Malik wouldn't follow him inside, which is why this was his real intention—to ambush Malik from above!'
Lionel thought with a smile.
Fang Raon brought his sword down, and Malik quickly jumped out of the way, and he reached his hand to his quiver, but the Warrior wasn't letting him run away.
"Basic Slash!"
Fang Raon swung the sword, the tip grazing Malik's arm as he narrowly avoided the attack, and a little bit of blood trickled down his arm.
[Malik Reimsduan: 65 HP]
There was only one area where Warrior was the strongest class, and that was in close quarters!
Fang Raon pressed forward, the sword acting as another extension of his arm, and he swung it with power!
Malik raised his bow to block the sword, but the blade went straight through, cutting the bow in half.
"Ah…"
[Durability: 0/100]
[Wooden Bow has broken!]
Notifications appeared before Malik, but he didn't have time to react to those, and then he came across Fang Raon's eyes.
Those blue eyes… looked sadistic.
'You are enjoying this? Who is actually the worse person between me and you? You sadistic fuc—'
In that moment, Fang Raon slashed through his neck, separating the head from the torso, and it was all over.
The body and head fell to the ground, lifeless and motionless. They disappeared, and only a quiver of arrows and a brown pouch of money were left behind.
"…Amazing."
The players whispered as they looked at Fang Raon.
Malik's friends paled and tried grabbing the items he left behind, but Fang Raon stood before them with that sadistic look.
"My victory. My rewards."
Fang Raon said with a smile.
"…A-ah, sure, man…"
They said, and just left with quickness in their feet, as if their feet were on fire.
Clap! Clap! Clap!
Lionel clapped his hands with a smile, and then he turned around and headed back inside.
"…You did it."
Rosabella and Tessa approached him, and they didn't quite know how to react to what they just saw.
Fang Raon seemed different, as if he were enjoying the thrill of the deathmatch, which just seemed crazy to them.
"…You are so strong."
Tessa said with a blush. She was staring at Fang Raon with pure admiration.
"…I guess I missed something."
In that moment, Dewrey came over, but he was already watching for a little bit after hearing that there was a crowd gathered over in the backyard.
He didn't expect it to be because of Fang Raon.
"Now that we are here. Should we go do… that?"
Rosabella asked.
"What's that?"
Fang Raon as he picked up the quiver of arrows and brown money pouch, which contained 88 square coins.
It increased his wealth to 110 square coins.
"We are going to the Adventurer's Guild to recruit people. We will be attempting 1st Floor Boss today, if you are ready for it."
Dewrey said.
"…I am ready."
Fang Raon said.
He didn't feel like there was any need to stay behind on the 1st floor any longer, and it was time to start what Black Online is all about—tower climbing!
