Chapter 34 - Part 2

The days in Marivelle flowed like a gentle river, steady, calm, and endlessly inviting. Liana and Eren moved through them with ease, their love now fully embedded into the fabric of their lives. Each morning began with the soft warmth of sunlight pouring into their apartment, the familiar scent of coffee and freshly baked bread greeting them. Each evening ended with laughter, whispers, and the serene intimacy that comes from years of growing together.

One morning, Liana woke early, sunlight spilling across the floorboards. She found Eren still asleep, his chest rising and falling in the slow rhythm of dreams. Quietly, she tiptoed across the room to the window and looked out at Marivelle bathed in gold. The city seemed alive, peaceful, and perfectly ordinary—but to her, it was extraordinary. It was home.

Returning to Eren's side, she gently brushed his hair from his forehead, leaning down to press a soft kiss to his lips. "Morning, sleepyhead," she whispered.

"Mmm… morning, my heart," he mumbled, eyes half-lidded, already smiling. "Did you dream of me?"

"Always," she teased, sliding beneath the blankets beside him. "And of us, laughing in the sun, walking through flowers… forever like this."

Eren wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close. "Forever," he agreed, pressing a lingering kiss to her temple. "Nothing can take that from us."

---

After breakfast, they ventured into the town square, where a small festival had begun. Stalls lined the cobblestone streets, colorful fabrics fluttering in the breeze, the scent of sweet pastries and roasted nuts filling the air. Liana's eyes sparkled as she wandered from stall to stall, examining handmade trinkets, delicate jewelry, and local art.

Eren followed her with a soft smile, secretly delighting in her enthusiasm. "You always make everything brighter," he said, leaning down to kiss her hair.

"And you always make me feel… safe," she replied, slipping her hand into his. "Even here, in the middle of a crowd, I only notice you."

They wandered through the festival, stopping to play games, taste local delicacies, and watch street performers juggle and dance. Liana laughed until her sides ached when Eren tried to win her a stuffed toy, failing spectacularly, and she retaliated by flicking powdered sugar from a pastry at his face.

"You're impossible!" he shouted through laughter, chasing her through the crowd.

"And you love it!" she called back, ducking beneath a table and giggling as he finally caught her, spinning her in a whirl of laughter.

---

By afternoon, they found a quiet corner of the town near the river. A small wooden dock jutted into the water, offering a perfect place to rest. Liana dipped her toes into the cool water while Eren sat beside her, the sun warming their shoulders.

"Do you ever wonder," she said softly, "what our life would have been like if… we hadn't fought so hard? If we'd let fear decide for us?"

Eren shook his head, taking her hand. "No. Every struggle, every shadow, every danger… brought us here. To each other. And I wouldn't trade any of it."

Her eyes glistened, and she pressed her forehead against his. "I'm glad. So glad."

He smiled, brushing her hair from her face. "Then we'll keep building this life. Day by day. Memory by memory. Adventure by adventure. And no matter what, we'll always have each other."

---

Evening came, painting the sky in pinks and golds. They returned home, hand in hand, laughing at small moments along the way—Eren slipping on a puddle, Liana teasing him for it, and him retaliating by grabbing her in a playful hug that ended in kisses.

Dinner was quiet, the kind of comfortable, perfect silence that only comes from years of shared love. Afterward, they moved to the balcony, wrapped in blankets, sipping tea and watching the stars awaken in the darkening sky.

"Do you remember," Liana asked softly, "the first night we really felt… free? After everything?"

Eren nodded, eyes dark with emotion and love. "I do. I remember looking at you and realizing… we could finally be ourselves. Together. No one else's rules, no one else's fear. Just us."

Her fingers intertwined with his. "It feels like that every day now. Even when life is ordinary, it's… extraordinary. Because of you."

"And you," he replied. "Always you."

---

Weeks rolled into months, seasons shifting gently around them. Spring brought blossoms, summer brought golden heat and riverside adventures, autumn draped the town in amber leaves, and winter blanketed Marivelle in soft snow. Every day was filled with laughter, warmth, and the quiet magic of ordinary life transformed by extraordinary love.

One snowy evening, they decorated their apartment, stringing lights and hanging ornaments. Liana laughed as Eren clumsily placed a star atop the tiny tree, nearly knocking it over in the process. She pressed herself close to him, wrapping arms around his waist. "You're ridiculous," she teased, smiling.

"And you love it," he replied, nuzzling her neck. "And I love you. Ridiculous, messy, beautiful you."

Her heart swelled, tears prickling her eyes. "I love you too. Always. Forever."

They kissed beneath the soft glow of the lights, the warmth of their love shielding them from the winter chill outside. Their hearts were full, their laughter echoing through the small apartment, carrying the promise of endless days, endless joy, and endless love.

---

Late that night, they lay together on the balcony, wrapped in blankets, gazing at the stars. Every twinkle seemed to reflect the journey they had endured—the danger, the fear, the longing—and every one of those stars now shone for them, illuminating a life finally free of shadows.

"I never imagined love could feel like this," Liana whispered. "So safe, so deep… so endless."

Eren held her tightly. "And it is. Endless. Our love is ours alone, and nothing can take it away. Ever."

She pressed a soft kiss to his chest, closing her eyes, heart swelling. "Then let's promise… every day, every night, we'll keep choosing each other. Always."

He smiled, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Always."

And beneath the blanket of stars, wrapped in warmth, laughter, and love, Liana and Eren knew: the world might never bless their love, but they had blessed it themselves. Forbidden once… now eternal. Radiant, joyful, unbreakable, infinite.
