Chapter 29 - Zephyr: “Kid, Who Taught You Rokushiki?”

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Shockwaves from Whitebeard's Gura Gura no Mi collided with Sengoku's golden bursts of impact, detonating through the air.

The battlefield was chaos incarnate.

Heaven and earth trembled; stone split like glass.

Whitebeard and Sengoku stood unscathed — monsters among men.

But for everyone else, it was hell on earth.

In the skies above, Dragon and Sharn clashed midair.

They used the recoil from their own attacks to propel themselves upward — kicking off invisible steps of air.

Rokushiki's Geppo turned the sky into their arena.

Purple lightning and black Haki laced every blow.

Sharn compensated for his weaker Haki with electricity;

Dragon countered by amplifying his speed and precision with sheer martial technique.

Their exchanges were lightning-fast, their power shockwaves enough to shatter rock and churn the sea below.

Soon, they had fought their way clear of Whitebeard and Sengoku's battleground.

From afar, Rayleigh — fighting Golden Lion Shiki — noticed the two silhouettes darting overhead.

"Ha! Your crew doesn't have rookies like that, does it, Rayleigh?" Shiki laughed, nearly dropping his cigar.

The twin-blade legend was impressed. Even a pure martial artist like Sharn drew his admiration.

"Once Rocks falls to Roger," Rayleigh said coolly, "we'll take that boy with us."

That single sentence made Shiki's grin freeze.

"What?! Roger's stealing our intern?!"

Twin golden blades flashed — sword beams cleaving the sea itself, splitting the tide for miles.

Hundreds of pirates and Marines alike were caught in the shockwave.

"Roger's orders are my captain's orders," Rayleigh said with a calm smile.

"Who else could I respect but the man who'll turn the world upside down?"

Even amid the chaos of God Valley, the deputy captain of the Roger Pirates carried an unshakable serenity.

Night fell.

The war had raged for nearly two days and nights.

Both sides — Marines and pirates — were utterly exhausted.

Only adrenaline and sheer will kept them standing.

The fleets that had come to "witness" this era's collision would later become its chroniclers —

some imprisoned in Impel Down by Garp and Sengoku,

some slain by Roger and Shiki,

and some defeated years later by Whitebeard during his reign in the New World.

Before their downfall, all of them were giants of an era — criminals who dared defy the heavens.

In the sky, Dragon's claw met Sharn's fist once more.

"I never said I'd join Roger's crew!" Sharn roared. "Stop deciding my fate for me!"

His kick lashed out, blackened by Armament Haki.

Now, not just his fists — but both legs shimmered with full Haki hardening.

Dragon's eyes widened.

He's already coating hands, feet... and his tail?!

Sharn's growth was absurd — meteoric.

From first awakening Haki to mastering multi-limb hardening in hours — it defied logic.

"Surprised?" Sharn taunted. "Don't underestimate the Lunar Lion's power!"

The two plummeted from the sky, trading blows even as they fell.

At this point, Sharn's Moon Lion Dragon form mirrored Kaido's full moon rage — perhaps even beyond it.

If the Beast King of Onigashima had this form back then,

the Supernovas of the Worst Generation would've perished in the first battle.

Even now, Sharn's power was monstrous — easily enough to crush Flying Six-level opponents.

"Thunder Headbutt!"

Sharn charged, coating even his forehead in Armament Haki.

His hands, feet, tail — every part of his body struck like a barrage of meteors.

"Dragon God's Sixfold Strike!"

Dragon retaliated, fists like cannons, Haki detonating on impact.

The two crashed downward, colliding like falling stars.

BOOM!

The explosion buried half the valley.

Wang Zhi looked up mid-battle, bewildered.

"What now?!"

He'd been clashing with Roger's crew when Dragon and Sharn slammed down nearby.

"Again?!" shouted Silver Axe, swinging his weapon. "Careful! My axe spares no one!"

"This kid really loves making friends mid-fight," grumbled Jabba, his twin axes cleaving the air.

"If axes count as blades, call me Twin-Axe Style!"

"We're not friends!"

Dragon and Sharn shouted at the same time — before both crashed headfirst into the ground again.

Wang Zhi seized the chance, grabbing Dragon in a massive Haki-coated stone fist.

"Garp's son! Die!"

The rubble around them fused into a colossal arm of compressed debris, crushing downward.

Then — a flash of violet light.

One man appeared — a fist wrapped in Armament Haki so dense it gleamed like obsidian.

He punched straight through the giant hand.

"Black Arm Crush!"

The shockwave vaporized the stone.

Holding Dragon in his other arm, Zephyr landed in front of Wang Zhi.

"Still bullying rookies, Wang Zhi?" Zephyr growled.

"Damn you, Zephyr!" Wang Zhi spat. "I ought to rip off that arm of yours!"

Zephyr's violet hair shimmered under the moonlight. Even before becoming Admiral, his strength already matched any top-tier pirate.

"Vice Admiral Zephyr!" Dragon coughed, trying to stand. "I can still fight! I'm not done yet!"

Zephyr's voice was calm, but sharp as steel.

"That boy's an Animal-type user. You'll tire out — he won't."

His eyes locked on Sharn, who stood breathing hard amid the smoking rubble.

"When you fight Zoan users, finish them fast," Zephyr said.

"Hit harder, move faster, and seal them with seastone before they heal."

On the other side of the valley, Kaido gasped for breath, bound in seastone chains.

"How the hell did you end up fighting Zephyr?"

Big Mom swooped in on Zeus, cutting down Marines with her sword to free him.

"Sharn's fault!" Kaido shouted back, scowling. "But that purple-haired man—he's a damn monster!"

Buckin adjusted her hat, golden curls fluttering.

"Zephyr's body is built differently. His Armament output exceeds most humans. Truly… a specimen worth study."

Big Mom laughed wildly. "Perfect! I'll recruit them both. Sharn, Kaido, Oven — my three heavenly stars!"

Her dream flashed before her eyes — a decade from now, her children grown, her kingdom unshakable.

Meanwhile, on the beach near the port—

Zephyr faced Sharn under the silver moonlight.

"Kid," Zephyr said, cracking his knuckles. "Where'd you learn the Six Powers?"

Rokushiki — the secret Marine martial art — wasn't something pirates could easily copy.

But Sharn had mastered all six forms. Even Life Return.

Sharn's grin was defiant.

"Self-taught."

Lightning crawled across his skin as his muscles tensed. The Lunar Lion's energy began to fade — pain clawed its way back into his nerves.

Zephyr sighed, lowering his stance.

"Then you've got talent... and a death wish."

"You'd be better off rotting in Impel Down."

He stepped forward, his purple hair glinting like fire beneath the moon.

Sparks cracked. Purple lightning met purple fists.

The night roared.

The teacher of legends and the monster of the new age collided.
