The victory over the Stonehide Gorger solidified their strategy. For the next stretch of time, Adam and Noodle became specialists. Adam's Hunter's Sense was now fine-tuned to find creatures with earth-based abilities. Their world became a hunt for specific vibrational signatures and the scent of damp stone and deep soil.
They sought out and defeated Graniteback Lurkers for their defensive fragments, which merged with his Scale Fortification, pushing it to Level 5. They ambushed Quake-runners, fast, rodent-like creatures that could create minor tremors, slowly but surely filling the Tremorsense fragment.
The battles were less about brute force and more about precision. Adam would engage, using his agility to draw attacks and create openings, while Noodle would be a constant, teleporting nuisance.
