Lara walked out of the prison, exhausted and sadder than she was when she walked in.
Curtis, who had been waiting anxiously further, instantly got out of the car and walked over to open the car door.
With a small, grateful smile, Lara got in. Then she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
Curtis got inside the car too, and as soon as he closed the door beside him, he turned to face her.
His brows were furrowed with concern.
"How are you, love? How do you feel?" he asked. His voice was filled with worry for her, and he wished she hadn't been too stubborn about not letting him follow her in there.
Ever since Lara got discharged from the hospital, Curtis had been insanely worried about her.
Her memories weren't back yet, and even though he had explained every single detail of their past to her, he was still worried.
And he had a lot of reasons to be concerned about her.
