[⚠️ WARNING: SPOILER ALERT ⚠️]
Do not read this Auxiliary Chapter unless you have finished Chapter 72! The information below contains major lore regarding the absolute pinnacle of power in this universe.
The Lore of the Unique Skills
In the world of the Awakened, reaching Tier 3 is a monumental achievement. However, for 99.99% of individuals, it is simply a natural progression of their Pathway. But for the remaining 0.01%, Tier 3 triggers a cosmic anomaly.
They awaken a Unique Skill.
As previously revealed, these absolute powers do not simply materialize out of nowhere. They are born directly from the Sea of Concepts. The Sea is a vast, metaphysical ocean divided into two primordial currents: Desire (the chaotic urges that birth the Seven Deadly Sins) and Fear (the desperate need for order and survival that births the Virtues).
When a soul perfectly resonates with the deepest depths of the Sea of Concepts, one of the Ten Unique Skills anchors itself to them.
The Rules of the Anomalies:
Absolute Singularity: Only ten of these skills exist in the universe at any given time. They cannot be copied or replicated by normal means.
The Bloodstained Usurpation: When a host dies naturally, their Unique Skill returns to the Sea of Concepts to await a new vessel. However, if a host is killed, the victor can usurp and claim the Unique Skill for themselves.
The Crossover Anomaly: The boundary between Fear and Desire is not absolute. A Virtue user can claim a Sin's Unique Skill, and a Sin user can claim a Virtue's Unique Skill. As long as they kill the current host, anyone can wield these powers—making the hosts of these skills the most highly hunted targets in existence.
The Ether Toll: These are not simple spells. They are fragments of universal law. Activating a Unique Skill requires a truly massive amount of Ether. A careless user could completely drain their life force and soul in mere seconds just trying to keep the skill active.
Evolving Depths: The true terror of a Unique Skill is its depth. They are not singular attacks; they act as conceptual "trees" that can house multiple, terrifying sub-skills of their own. As the user grows, the skill unlocks new, hidden layers of its authority.
For now, the exact powers and mechanics of these ten skills remain a mystery. However, ancient texts and the systems of the world recognize them by the terrifying, otherworldly names they have carved into history.
