Chapter 5 - A date and the aftermath

2 months after Albert acquired Navigation Master

Albert was excited, he was finally going to learn how to use magic, and the one to teach him was Lucine! She told him to meet her at the front yard. So he got ready and decided to walk out. And there was Lucine is her regal clothing, attending her was Dahlis, thankfully Warning Gloves didn't shake so it appears they are on good terms, for now at least.

"There you are Albert! Are you ready for our da-" Lucine's voice froze as her eyes widened and tlth4n she took a breath before continuing. "are you ready for your magic lesson?" Albert nodded.

"Of course I am, I can't just get through life without basic knowledge for nobles, my skill can't even be useful in combat, so I believe we should start the lesson immediately." Albert's voice was tinged with excitement, but he still glanced at Dahlis a few times, he still doesn't trust her after her "assassination attempt". Albert silently started to panic as Dahlis stepped forward.

"You have no need for worries master Albert, the Duchess decided to wait 3 weeks in order to see if your magic and combat skills are acceptable enough. If not, I will personally train you myself in martial arts." Dahlis' voice was emotionless and as she talked her fingers drummed against the hem of her dress, it almost seemed like she was hiding a weapon there, waiting to strike. But Albert wasn't worried, since his gloves weren't shaking.

"I'll make sure to keep that in mind..." He said, locking his eyes onto Dahlis'. It seemed that Lucine was getting impatient, as she was tapping her feet on the floor, and then push Dahlis into the mansion.

"OK! For your first lesson, you have to know that every intelligent creature has a hollow core, by default, this core doesn't contain and is unable to hold magic. But, by honing your emotions and focusing your thoughts you can slowly produce mana which will surround your core, and by speaking certain words, and focusing your feelings on certain images, you can cast spells." Albert appreciated Lucine's advice, but he already knew that from an unskippable cutscene in Silver Feathers. Lucine then took his hand and ran out with him into the village that the estate encompasses. Albert didn't know that running would help him use magic.

"Why are we running into the town Lucine?" Albert said, he didn't know why Lucine was being so energetic today. But he had a hunch that this was necessary.

"One of the ways my tutor taught me how to use magic was to walk around and take in the surroundings. I am sure if we do that, you will be able to cast spells in no time!" Albert doesn't really know what Lucine means in by "taking in the surroundings" since his skill already maps out the places he's been to. But Albert trusts her, and even though this is a relatively public area, he doesn't sense much killing intent.

"Ok, the first step for using magic is to close your eyes and hold my hand as we sit on that fountain." Lucine's voice was husky as she caressed Albert's face, although Albert was flustered, he just brushed it off as a normal things that engaged people must do in this world. Yeah, that's right! There's no way that her long, painted, blue nail, tracing his jawline is weird. So he lightly pushed her hand away and grabbed it and took her to the fountain in the center of town. It was a large white fountain, with 4 marble heads of a dragon in each ordinal direction, spitting water, and in the center was a state of what appears to be a crow perched on top of a female head. It was odd, but he just accepted it and closed his eyes.

He couldn't see anything as his eyes were closed, he could only hear the water and feel Lucine's warm hand holding his. In fact, he was starting to doubt if this was actually a magic lesson, and secretly a date. But... that was when he saw something in the blackness of his closed eyes. There in front of him, stood a giant pillar of blue fire. And as soon as he "saw" it, he suddenly opened his eyes, he was stranded in a dark void, he could stand and walk around inside of it, but he could still hear the water and feel Lucine's hand holding his, he wasn't in a void, he was inside his own mind. He didn't know what to do he just walked... he didn't know, he just walked towards the pillar of blue fire.

"Who... who are you, why have you brought me here to my mind?" Albert asked, terror in his voice, and the pillar replied, he didn't know if it had a voice, he just heard it.

"I am the one who you could call the embodiment of blue fire magic. I am the spirit who lurks in this fountain, and I haven't brought you to the prison of your own mind, you found it yourself. And you trapped me." Albert was confused. Trapped? There is no way that HE had trapped the embodiment of blue fire magic inside of him. But it appears the status screen which appeared said otherwise.

Skills acquired, Blue fire Magic embodiment. Mental resistance 3.

Blue Fire Magic embodiment: your fire spells deal increased damage and have their area of effect increase by a factor of 3x, but they require twice thr amount of mana, fire spells that are blue dont have this drawback.

Mental resistance 3: You are now 75% immune to all psychic, charm, and mind control effects.

You can now use up to tier 2 fire magic.

You have unlocked the following spells

Blue ember

Blue Flaming observer

Detonate object

Firedrown

Albert couldn't deny it, he somehow trapped the embodiment of blue fire magic inside of him and gained new skills from that. Although it appeared to be weaker than what he thought. There are 6 tiers of magic in Silver Feathers. Tier 1 (weak), Tier 2 (Low-tier), Tier 3 (Mid-tier), Tier 4 (High-Tier), Tier 5 (greater), and 6 (Divine.). He didn't know what an embodiment of magic is, but it appears he now contains the embodiment of blue fire spells (which isn't many, even with all the DLCs downloaded. They only go up to tier 2.)

"How did I trap you?" Albert asked, less terrified since he got his new skills.

"You will find out soon enough. For now, your fiancee must be worried about you". And just like that he snapped back, he could see Lucine sleeping on his lap, her face an image of cute contentment. He petted her hair as she slowly woke up.

"Hey Albert, did it help? You were asleep for about 10 minutes. Are you OK?" Lucine asked, still definitely half asleep.

"I don't know, but it appears I learned a few spells." Lucine got up and yawned before sitting back down and hugging his arm, she's just 13 and he can already feel her tits starting to grow. He tried to let go but her grip was almost, possessive. He would be more worried, but then he just figured, Silver Feathers is a game made in Japanfanservice is inevitable. So he got up and walked with Lucine, arm in arm.

---

"You're back earlier than expected." Dahlis said, watching Lucine and Albert walk through the door. Dahlis was expecting Albert to walk in and reveal that he has not learned anything, Lucine has a tendency to intentionally misremember things so she can get what she wants. And Dahlis knows that Lucine was likely using "magic lessons" as a doorway to dating. But Albert did something surprising.

"Blue Ember" and from his hand shot out a small blue fireball that lit up the fireplace, really well. This was an unprecedented event, although blue ember is a tier 1 spell, it is one of the hardest spells to learn, and it's damage is on par with some of the weaker tier 3 spells, and yet, after Albert returned he appeared to have mastered the spell, as the blue ember appeared to be more than twice the usual size. Dahlis looked at Lucine, trying to silently ask her how the fuck someone who didn't even know how to use magic, suddenly is a master of blue ember of all things. But Lucine simply shrugged.

"You have no need to worry, Dahlis. He even managed to cast detonate object on a nearby stone on the way here and it created quite a large explosion, as expected of my darling!" Dahlis couldn't believe it, Detonate object is a tier 2 spell, a rather basic one, but still, how could he learn a tier 2 spell by the end of his first lesson.

"To be honest, I just sat down on the fountain with Lucine, and I don't really need to tell you the rest, but I somehow managed to learn a bunch of fire spells." Albert replied, his voice mostly casual, but with a hint of puzzlement, as if even he, the one who used 2 roughly intermediate spells, didn't know how he even got them. Dahlis was impressed, she needed to tell the duchess about this.

"Message" She said. Albert's facial expression didn't move, Dahlis was at least expecting a flinch, that was a tier 3 psychic spell, she didn't even need to speak the spell's name allowed. Dahlis just wanted to see if he could react.

---

"Message" Said Dahlis, Albert didn't react, since this spell was commonly used by the NPCs in the game. It was basically the game's in-game version of a quest list or something. That spell allowed the user to telepathically send a message to anyone of their choosing. There was no doubt that Dahlis messaged Duchess Olivianne. But what was the message? He couldn't ponder on that, he needed to practice, he needed a weapon, and with his vast knowledge of the game, he knew that there is a hidden Tier 4 magic item hidden in a hole outside the Nocturne estate, an axe who's haft is made from the spine of the black dragon king (whatever that was, didn't appear in the game), and a blade made from Orichalcum, a magical metal in the game who's material is light, but very sharp and hard and cannot burn or melt. The dark axe, Nihil
