Chapter 3 - I'm not human in Yu-Gi-Oh! Chapter 3

Chapter 3: Structure Deck

The "Other Factions" most likely refer to Ishizu's side.

Since Duel City is about to begin, it means Ishizu has already given the "Obelisk the Tormentor" to Seto Kaiba.

The Duel City storyline clearly involves a three-way game between the Protagonist Faction, the KC Faction, and the Rare Hunters Faction.

Joining the "Other Factions" really isn't very suitable.

Ishizu is also a somewhat "superstitious" young woman, deeply affected by the poison of the Millennium Items.

Yu Miao obviously can't persuade her to hand over the nearly invincible "Current" card to him.

Could it be based on his facial features being highly similar to Yugi Muto's?

"The choices seem too limited."

Yu Miao finally decided to join the "Rare Hunters Faction"!

[Tip: Choosing to join the Rare Hunters Faction has a relatively high degree of danger]

Rare Hunters is the largest antagonist organization in Duel City, also doubling as a counterfeiting group.

Sunshine Boy - Marik is the leader of this organization.

As for Sunshine Boy's goal?

Very simple!

Marik wants to make the Nameless Pharaoh (Yami Yugi) feel "pain," and he wants to liberate the fate of the Tomb Keepers clan.

Thus, Duel City launches with grandeur!

"Fortune favors the bold. Marik hasn't arrived in Domino City yet. According to the original story, that guy won't arrive in the city until at least the first stage of Duel City begins."

"I can use this time difference to utilize the Rare Hunters organization's resources to become stronger. So it's decided, Rare Hunters it is."

After much thought, Yu Miao found that joining Rare Hunters was the best choice.

The Rare Hunters counterfeiting group is a mixed bag; the difficulty of joining shouldn't be that high.

Perhaps Yu Miao can even ruthlessly fleece Marik.

"An assessment is probably inevitable, after all, this is a world centered around dueling." Yu Miao opened his status panel and clicked into the Deck section.

As a duelist, the strength of your deck determines your future!

The deck showing "1" proves Yu Miao has one deck slot.

Opening this deck reveals 40 cards.

Among them, there are only two Spell Cards: one is "Stop Defense," and the other is the invincible "Ookazi"!

[Stop Defense: Select 1 face-up Attack Position monster on your opponent's side of the field and change it to face-up Defense Position.]

[Ookazi: Inflict 500 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points.]

Yu Miao prefers this Ookazi card, specialized for finishing off duelists who like to cling on with low LP.

But it seems Duel City has a Forbidden/Limited List; Seto Kaiba banned these costless LP-reducing cards.

There is only 1 Trap Card, it's "Reinforcements," not "Reinforcement of the Army"!

[Reinforcements: Select 1 face-up monster on the field. Increase the ATK of that monster by 500 until the end of the turn.]

The remaining 37 Monster Cards consist of 36 seemingly meaningless low-Level + low-ATK Normal Monsters.

The remaining 1 Effect Monster Card is... Kuriboh!!

Well, that's a small comfort.

Surname "Yu," passing-grade hairstyle, Kuriboh in the starting deck... he really is the protagonist.

"But this starting deck is just too 'budget version' (poor)."

For someone like Yu Miao, who always pursues competitive strength, this deck is hard to accept.

"..."

Wait, that's not right!

"Tsk~" Yu Miao discovered this starting deck hides a deadly edge!!

At first glance, this starting deck has no high-Level + high-ATK monsters, but it does have one 4-Star high-ATK vanilla Monster Card.

Luster Dragon!

At only 4 Stars, it boasts a high 1900 ATK, just shy of the 2000 limit, surpassing most peers.

If this were still the Duel Kingdom era, this card wouldn't be much.

But Duel City has issued the first generation's official rules.

Duelists start with 4000 Life Points.

Level 4 and lower monsters can be Normal Summoned without Tribute.

Level 5~6 require 1 Tribute.

Level 7 and above require 2 Tributes.

The Three Egyptian God Cards require 3 Tributes because they must be Tribute Summoned by offering 3 monsters.

In this version, low-Level, high-ATK monsters are king.

Having dual identities really is different.

Yu Miao opened Duel Pioneer and found the shop platform exclusive to players.

After claiming various bonuses, he obtained 1000 Gems.

He must strengthen his deck now!

Can this crappy deck even duel?

Probably would struggle even against a random passerby.

Since Yu Miao intends to join Rare Hunters, he must be cautious because he hates losing.

In the Shop, currently, there is only 1 Main Box.

[Low Tier - ATK/DEF Focus]

Judging by the name, this box must be very mediocre, even more so than a mediocre Kuriboh.

A few seconds later, Yu Miao said with a look of disdain: "This box is so mediocre."

The Equip Spell Card "Legendary Sword" is actually an SR?

[Legendary Sword: Can only be equipped to a Warrior-Type monster. Increase the ATK and DEF of the equipped monster by 300 points.]

The entire ATK Focus box has only two UR cards: one is "Rising energy," and the other is "Wall of Disruption."

[Rising energy: Discard 1 card from your hand; target 1 monster on the field. That monster gains 1500 ATK until the end of this turn.]

[Wall of Disruption: Activate when an opponent's monster declares an attack. All face-up Attack Position monsters your opponent controls lose 800 ATK for each monster they control.]

The UR cards in this box are actually passable.

In the early Yu-Gi-Oh! era, these Trap Cards that affect ATK values were still very powerful.

But this damn box has hundreds of cards.

100 Gems for 1 pack, 1 pack contains 5 cards, and cards obtained from the box do not get removed from the box!

This means the box is a bottomless pit.

Pity system?

Doesn't exist.

Depends on your luck.

Lucky players thrive, unlucky players suffer!

"Hmm?" At this moment, Yu Miao noticed something else on the other side of the shop.

This place actually has "Structure Decks"?

A Structure Deck is essentially a concise box.

The concise box contains fewer cards, but a few of the cards inside are more valuable, and you don't need to rely on luck.

Just spend a certain amount of Gems to purchase it directly.

Yu Miao checked the price of the Structure Deck. Good grief.

[Price: 800 Gems.]

This lousy Structure Deck is almost entirely filled with seemingly meaningless cards; only the "Wall of Disruption" card holds some value.

There isn't even a single high-Level + high-ATK monster.

Folks, this is painful, who understands?

Since DM is the first Yu-Gi-Oh! series, the worldview is limited, and the influence of the Duel Kingdom era is still recent.

In this era, high-ATK, high-Level vanilla monsters are the mainstream, and the value of each card is extraordinary.

If he had a high-ATK + high-Level vanilla, Yu Miao could sell it and then use the money to acquire some cards from this world to strengthen his own means.

[Tip: Cards purchased or obtained by the player from the Shop cannot be sold or traded for exchange in the DM generation...]

Attempting to exploit bugs for profit is not allowed; he was directly warned.

"So this Structure Deck is essentially paying for this one Trap Card."

"A wave of scammy vibes hits me in the face."

Yu Miao ultimately bought this Structure Deck.

Because buying Structure Decks is always the most cost-effective!

The starting deck is too useless; without adding some powerful "Trap Cards," its purity is just too low.

After purchasing the Structure Deck once, it can be purchased up to two more times.

Purchasing the same Structure Deck multiple times increases the price by 50%, so the second purchase would cost 1200 Gems.

"Crappy game."

Yu Miao directly closed the shop and made slight adjustments to his deck.
