Chapter 17 - Chapter 17. The Zero's Memories

After two minutes of walking,

The two of them reached the outer edge of the castle.

Ciko Joun gazed in awe—the castle was located high above the sky, far away from the land below.

Ciko Joun asked Dontur,

"I'm The Zero… do you actually believe I'm the owner of this castle?"

"Of course, you are the owner of this castle,"

Dontur continued,

"You are the only person at level 1 on the Deceiver path."

Ciko Joun was stunned.

He never expected The Zero to be only level 1.

A thought crossed his mind.

What exactly is The Zero's ability in the Deceiver path?

Ciko Joun raised his right hand.

"Whooooak!"

He shouted, pretending to unleash some kind of superpower.

"What are you doing?"

Dontur asked.

"Ahem, nothing."

Ciko Joun immediately stopped his antics so The Zero's dignity wouldn't crumble.

"All right, let's go back inside the castle."

"Yes, My Lord," Dontur replied respectfully.

They walked back to the castle.

Upon arriving, Ciko Joun sat on his throne while Dontur stood beside him.

Dontur smiled.

Ciko Joun glanced and noticed it was a strange smile.

He's smiling by himself? Even I'm not that weird, Ciko thought.

Dontur turned toward Ciko Joun and pulled a piece of paper from his pocket.

"My Lord, I am returning this paper to you."

"Paper?"

"Yes. You gave this to me a year ago."

Ciko Joun took the paper. Its writing was in a strange language.

He was shocked that he could read it—even though it looked nothing like any normal script.

The contents:

Find the other papers scattered throughout the world

to uncover all the secrets I've hidden.

After reading it, The Zero's memories flowed into his mind.

It was extremely important information—because the memory revealed one of The Zero's abilities.

...

The information was this:

An ability that can determine a person's location,

as long as the user knows the target's name.

It was an incredibly useful ability—

because now, he could locate Lamia.
