Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

Harry stood at the edge of the enchanted forest inside Lycan's Refuge, watching the illusionary half moon drift behind soft magical clouds. He let out a breath, his eyes reflecting quiet resolve.

"It's time to leave the walls. I need to keep growing."

He wasn't just a Vault-rich heir of forgotten bloodlines now. He was still a gamer — a dungeon crawler, a potion brewer, a quester.

And so, at dawn, he packed light. Enchanted armor in inventory. Potions ready. His wolf form sharper than ever. A map sketched with key locations from old bestiaries and alchemy journals.

And with a casual stroll through Zeus Hotel's rear courtyard, he passed back into the Muggle world.

The hotel was eerie. Zeus Hotel — the gateway between Knockturn Alley and the outside world — was nothing more than a crumbling skeleton of its past.

Faded signage.

A broken chandelier.

Dust-thick counters.

Boggarts hiding in boarded rooms.

Harry even had to cast Lumos Maxima in one corridor just to see where he was walking. He expelled a boggart pretending to be an Auror using Riddikulus, then sealed the door behind him with Colloportus.

It didn't scare him — but it bothered him.

"This place is a gateway for werewolves. Outcasts. People who need a second chance."

"It deserves better."

Before leaving, Harry activated the [Observe] skill on the structure itself:

[Location: Zeus Hotel]

Status: Abandoned | Minor Boggart Infestation | Structurally Intact | Owned by Gringotts Trustee Board

Estimated Value (in Galleons): 15,000 – 18,000 G (unrenovated)

Two days later, Harry met a goblin named Grimnail in the dim offices beneath Gringotts. With a parchment of intent signed, sealed, and backed by his Blackfyre vault's credibility, he began the process of acquiring Zeus Hotel.

"It'll take more than gold," Grimnail warned.

"You'll need Ministry clearance if you want to run this place openly."

"I'm not trying to make a casino," Harry replied. "Just a gateway. A real place. Safe passage. No questions asked."

"Then it may actually work," Grimnail grinned. "Everyone's scared of Knockturn Alley — but if you offer clean robes and firewhisky at the door, even the Ministry will look the other way."

Harry deposited 16,000 Galleons and signed the deed.

Harry ran his thumb over the edge of the enchanted parchment. His new title — Lord Blackfyre — carried weight. With that signature, Zeus Hotel, once an abandoned shell forgotten by time and filth, now belonged to him.

Sam was the first to inspect the crumbling interior. The building was large — four stories above ground and two below, complete with a creaking lift system, collapsed staircases, boggart-infested rooms, and mold in all the wrong places. And yet, beneath the decay, the bones of something grand remained.

"You sure you want to pour money into this dump?" Sam asked, poking a half-rotted support beam with his wand.

Harry didn't hesitate.

"Yes. It will belong to the magical world. A refuge in daylight, a portal to the world."

For the next week, Harry camped in the forests and riverbanks within a 10-kilometer radius of the portal.

He gathered:

Wolfsbane leaves at dawn while in wolf form — uncrushed by sunlight.

Mooncap Mushrooms, found only in cursed groves.

Nightshade roots, which he handled with dragonhide gloves.

Grim Willow Bark, which required a strength check to pull off while the tree whispered threats into his mind.

At one point, a rogue Centaur patrol mistook him for a poacher. He transformed mid-confrontation and bowed respectfully, impressing them enough to avoid conflict.

[New Ingredient Unlocked: Lunar Salt Crystals]

Harvested from dew-frosted rocks beneath moonlight. Increases potion strength by 15% when brewed with Wolfsbane.

By the time Harry returned to Knockturn Alley, his bag was full of ingredients and his mind full of plans.

He handed Sam the blueprints for Zeus Hotel's new interior — complete with enchanted bath chambers, clean dormitories, illusion-proof fireplaces, and a proper potion bar.

Sam whistled.

"This is going to change everything."

"Good," Harry said. "It's time someone did."

Harry spent over 12,000 Galleons upfront. The goblins approved the transaction after a few bribes to bypass bureaucratic roadblocks. The Ministry — as corrupt and spineless as ever — didn't care who owned what, as long as gold flowed into the right palms.

[Quest Update – Restoration]

Objective: Restore the Zeus Hotel

Progress: 1/3

Hire workers

Cleanse magical contamination

Install enchantments

Instead of hiring standard workers, Harry offered the job to werewolves. It was an investment into their dignity and autonomy. Dozens responded. Some brought tools. Others brought potion ingredients to help clean out dark infestations. A few even brought their families, eager to make something of this opportunity.

Wards were restructured by Goblins.

The boggarts were banished by Harry himself.

The roof was repaired with a shimmering dark tile that reflected moonlight enchantments.

The old pub and reception hall were expanded into a multi-tiered lounge with anti-discrimination charms woven into the very wood.

Harry personally oversaw the laying of the Runes of Hospitality along the foundation, enchantments that would prevent any guest from drawing a weapon or wand with intent to harm while under the roof.

A month later, Zeus Hotel stood proud.

Gone were the faded curtains and crumbling bricks. The newly carved wooden sign shimmered with starlight, reading:

ZEUS HOTEL

"A New Dawn for All Magicfolk"

The portal on the Muggle side still opened discreetly from the back of a run-down building in Greenwich, but the moment anyone passed through, they stepped into elegance. Velvet chairs, floating lanterns, jazz-inspired magical music drifting from enchanted instruments.

Harry wore his custom robe — dark grey with silver thread shaped like a wolf's silhouette at the hem. At his side stood Sam, who had personally made sure every room was pristine.

The werewolves arrived in droves. Some came from Knockturn. Others stepped through for the first time. All of them were in awe.

Drinks flowed.

Laughter filled the air.

Children chased enchanted paper dragons while parents enjoyed meals free from prejudice.

Harry stood near the bar, sipping firewhisky, when a notification blinked in the corner of his vision:

After the grand reopening, it didn't take long for word to spread.

What caught everyone's attention first were the two Veela at the front desk — radiant, graceful, and professional. They weren't just for show. Both had been hired by Harry personally after a thorough conversation about their goals. Their presence wasn't just enchanting — it was strategic. Within days, the number of bookings doubled. Curious witches and wizards, enchanted by the Veela's beauty and intrigued by the open policy, started arriving not just from Knockturn Alley but also from Diagon Alley and even Hogsmeade.

In the kitchen, an unusual trio ran the show. A goblin named Snarspike — known for his sharp palate and culinary discipline and two house-elves, Tiki and Noma, bought from Knockturn Alley — now freed and earning their wages with pride.

Harry made sure their magical contracts were voided the moment the receipt was signed. He personally handed them tiny brown leather pouches full of Galleons and gave them full rights to refuse tasks.

They didn't refuse. They flourished.

The result?

The restaurant's food became famous for its flavor, balance, and affordability. Dishes like Enchanted Stew, Spiced Hippogriff Curry, and Floating Pudding of Dreams attracted all kinds of customers — even those who weren't hotel guests.

The restaurant became a hotspot, and for the first time, Knockturn Alley smelled like grilled meat and hot butterbeer instead of mold and blood.

Zeus Hotel offered three tiers of accommodation:

Normal Rooms – clean, simple, warm; ideal for workers, travelers, and families

Expensive Rooms – polished stonework, private baths, and magical insulation

Luxury Suites – custom furnishings, floating fireplaces, private balconies enchanted with illusionary landscapes

Each room was imbued with anti-discrimination charms, ensuring that no guest would feel unsafe or mistreated because of their blood status, species, gender, or magical ability.

That's when things really took off. A vampire named Carmilla Noir booked a luxury suite for an entire month. She claimed it was the only place in Britain she could "exist without being humiliated." Then an ambassador from the American Ministry of Magic — a sharp-dressed man with a southern drawl — checked in to an expensive room for two weeks. He cited the hotel's neutrality and security as "the most progressive hospitality seen in the Isles." Even Dwarves, Goblin merchants, and werewolves used the hotel regularly — some even renting conference space for community meetings.

One night, Harry sat at the bar with Sam, watching as witches and wizards from all walks of life drank together.

"Looks like you're building more than a hotel," Sam muttered, raising a glass of firewhisky.

"What do you mean?" Harry asked, sipping his butterbeer.

"A future. One where people like us — them—" Sam gestured toward a young vampire laughing beside a goblin, "—can actually live."

Harry looked around and smiled.

"I didn't want to change the world," he said softly. "I just wanted a place where people didn't have to hide."

No one knew Harry owned Zeus Hotel — not even the many of the staff, not even the patrons who dined at the renowned restaurant or rented the luxury rooms. To the outside world, he was just another errand boy—quiet, quick, and polite. The Veela at the front desk occasionally teased him, calling him "the boy with too many pockets," while the goblin chef grunted orders at him during rush hour. Only the staff knew the truth. And they had signed magical contracts—the kind that burned memories into ash if one so much as whispered the wrong thing.

That was how Harry wanted it.

Harry often carried trays of roasted knarl meat, lemon-fizzed butterbeer, or rare vampire wine to the upper floors. He blended in easily among the workers. And on one such errand, as he went to Room 31, his sharp ears caught a snippet of goblin speech—two of them, well-dressed in merchant attire, deep in hushed conversation.

"—massive snakes. Magical ones. Nearly swallowed Grizzle whole—"

"It's a cursed chamber, I swear it. We only just made it out through the side tunnel."

Harry froze.

Massive magical snakes? A sealed chamber?

He'd read enough monster compendiums and dungeon entries to know what that meant.

A dungeon.

Knocking lightly and offering their drinks, Harry slipped inside the room with a forced smile. The goblins were too deep in their nerves to care. He dropped the tray on the table, lingered a moment, and asked casually, "Where did you say you saw those snakes?"

The older goblin squinted at him, grunted. "Grimsby. Near West Ravendale. But don't even think about going there, boy. Place is cursed."

Harry gave a polite nod, left the room, and immediately opened his Map Interface from the system.

[New Location Discovered]

He closed the window, heart racing.

By the time Harry reached the back hallway, he was already formulating a plan. West Ravendale was an unknown place, but not unreachable. He'd need stealth, supplies, and proper gear. No one else could know—not even Sam. At least, not yet.

He walked past the hotel's enchanted fountain, nodding at a group of goblin tourists on their way out, and checked his Inventory and prepared his enchanted armor. His daggers. The Sword of Blackfyre.

And in the corner of the room, a glowing screeen began to flash with a soft chime.
