That night, Xian Lu went to the club again.
He didn't even know why.
Maybe he just wanted a drink.
Or maybe… something else.
The music was loud, lights flashing everywhere, people laughing and dancing like nothing mattered.
Lu stood near the bar, holding a glass, his expression calm as always.
Then his eyes stopped.
Across the club—
Ren Liwei.
He was surrounded by girls.
Not just one or two… but several.
They were laughing, talking, touching his arm, clearly enjoying his company.
And Ren?
He looked completely comfortable.
Relaxed. Smiling. Talking like it was normal.
Lu watched for a moment, then a small smirk appeared on his lips.
"What a playboy…" he murmured quietly.
As if hearing him—
Ren suddenly looked up.
Their eyes met.
For a second, everything felt still.
Then Ren smiled.
That same confident, slightly teasing smile.
He even lifted his hand and gave a small wave.
Like they were familiar.
Lu raised an eyebrow.
Of course he did.
Then he turned, about to leave.
But before he could take another step—
"Mr. Lu."
Lu stopped.
That voice.
He turned around.
Ren was already walking toward him.
The girls behind him looked disappointed, but he didn't care.
"Leaving so soon?" Ren said with a small smile.
Lu glanced behind him for a second.
"Shouldn't you go back?" he said calmly. "They seem to need your attention."
Ren followed his gaze and chuckled.
"They're just talking."
Lu looked at him again.
"You seem very busy."
Ren stepped a little closer.
"Are you jealous?"
Lu's expression didn't change.
"Don't be ridiculous."
Ren smiled slightly, like he expected that answer.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Then Ren said casually,
"You came here again."
Lu didn't reply.
Ren continued,
"School in the morning… club at night. We keep meeting."
Lu's eyes narrowed slightly.
"Coincidence."
Ren tilted his head.
"Maybe."
Then he leaned just a little closer, voice lower but still calm.
"Or maybe you're just unlucky."
Lu didn't move.
Didn't step back.
Just looked at him.
Then he said quietly,
"You talk too much."
Ren smiled again.
"And you don't talk enough."
Another pause.
The noise of the club continued around them, but neither of them seemed to notice.
Then Ren straightened.
"I should go back," he said lightly.
He turned, then stopped for a second and looked over his shoulder.
"Try not to think about me too much, Mr. Lu."
Lu scoffed.
But he didn't leave.
And for some reason…
He stayed a little longer than he planned.
