Chapter 3 - The Forest

As the sun was at an angle, it would seem that the day was nearing a close proximity to it's end. Yet, unsure of what time it was, large cloud cover hid the sun from view. What is left is a gloomy and wet day - a small fraction of light penetrating, and partial showers of rain.

I pulled it down. Down from the back of the truck. They were heavy: heavy because they were two, I carried it without a care in world. But when it did become a border, I'd just drag the two bags.

I arrived at the destination. It was in the middle of nowhere and for good reason. No buildings. No people. And most especially, no cameras. The perfect place that no one will suspect. A forest with an ever expending graze of long trees. A few shrub here and there.

I took a shovel out and went on straight to digging. Like any usual digging, the point was to dig deep enough so that the bags fit in. To do so, I shaped the hole into a rectangular frame like that of a coffin.

This took two hours. And since there were two bags, I was left with one more hole to go. I did it - it took another two hours from me.

Done at last.

The one thing left is to dump the bodies in. One body bag to the first hole; the second body bag to the second hole. When it was done, I clenched my fingers on the shovel handle, gripped it tightly and covered them with the loose ground, putting it back to where I initially started to dig.

I then went back to the pickup truck, and when I was there, I hurriedly shoved the shovel at back trailer.

Back in the seat of the pickup truck - the front seat - I didn't ignite the engine until sometime later. What was I thinking? I wasn't really sure? But there was really this pain which had a lot of unfamiliarity that I wanted answered.

Taking all that frustration in, and putting it somewhere at the back of my mind, I started the engine.

'Let's just go,' I thought.

The truck then drove off.
