💀❤️ "Midnight Rose" — A Romantic Horror Story
Aarav had always loved the quiet roads of his small hill town, but ever since that night, he avoided the forest path. People said strange things happened there after midnight — crying sounds, shadows moving without bodies, roses blooming even in winter.
One evening, while returning from work, he saw a girl on the side of the road.
She wore a pale white dress, her long hair covering half her face. She looked lost… and freezing.
"Are you okay?" Aarav asked.
She smiled gently. "I'm Mira. My car broke down. Can you walk with me till the town?"
Her voice was soft, almost musical. Aarav felt something warm in his chest. He nodded.
As they walked through the forest road, moonlight fell on her face. She was beautiful — but something about her eyes looked… sad. Broken.
"Do you live around here?" he asked.
"Yes," she whispered. "I used to."
Used to?
Before he could ask, a cold wind blew. The temperature dropped sharply. The path became foggy. He heard footsteps behind them — but no one was there. The smell of wet roses filled the air.
Mira held his hand tightly. "Don't look back," she said.
But curiosity won. Aarav slowly turned—
A dark figure stood at a distance, its neck slightly twisted, its fingers long as knives. It stared at them without blinking.
Aarav froze. "What… what is that?"
"My past," Mira said softly. "And it's angry."
Suddenly, the creature let out a shrill scream that echoed through the forest. Aarav grabbed Mira's hand and they ran. Branches scratched their skin, the air turned icy, and the creature followed, its footsteps cracking the ground.
When they finally reached the old abandoned bridge, Mira stopped.
"This is far enough," she said.
"Why aren't we running?!" Aarav shouted.
She looked at him with eyes full of love and sorrow. "Because I can't go any further, Aarav."
He stared at her.
Mira stepped back. Her body became faint, almost transparent.
"I died here a year ago," she whispered. "Someone pushed me off this bridge. That thing… it's the shadow of the man who killed me."
Aarav felt his heart shatter. "Then why did you come to me?"
"Because you're the first person who saw me as more than a ghost," she said. "You spoke to me like I mattered."
The creature arrived at the bridge, screaming with rage. Mira turned to it fearlessly.
"You can't hurt him," she said. "Not anymore."
Light exploded from her chest — soft, white, beautiful. The shadow shrieked and dissolved into nothing.
Aarav covered his eyes from the brightness.
When he opened them, Mira stood at the edge of the bridge, glowing like moonlight.
"I don't have much time," she said. "Thank you… for giving me one night of love."
Aarav's eyes filled with tears. "Will I ever see you again?"
Mira smiled, her figure fading.
"Whenever roses bloom at midnight… I'll be there."
And just like that, she vanished — leaving behind a single, warm, red rose on the cold, broken bridge.
Aarav kept that rose forever.
Even now, when he walks through the forest at midnight, the air smells of roses… and he knows Mira still walks beside him.
