Jay's POV:
You know when somebody's good at business. When they could convince you to sell yourself into a deal.
I still couldn't get why, why did I say yes to him.
Maybe I was intimidated. Not by his heavenly looks. But the words his tongue rolled out. They had the power to intoxicate me, spill out what he wanted and shut down again as it never existed.
It was still heavy on my heart. He wanted a loveless contract marriage. Everything was settled for him but idea itself of marriage pictured with a man who looked at me with love and assurance stayed inside me. What if I actually fell for him? I was afraid to blink now. What if I blinked and world around changed again.
There was a weird sense of assurance around him like even the biggest fears of mine were unmasked around him yet secure under his scrutiny.
The way he looked or talked, it made me feel like I was just a mere client and the very next second, I was the most important thing to ever exist in his life.
He smirked like all of us lived in his world, like we just survived somehow meanwhile he. He roared like a King. A king of his own Kingdom.
A cursed one.
Keifer's POV:
My proposal was insane but her affirmation didn't carry sanity too.
Ever since I saw her, I knew she had something in her.
A power to hold greatest of ruins and simultaneously break them effortlessly.
I need her.
She is a key to destruction of Alison's. A name that I want to imprint to Bankruptcy. There was an unusual pull in her that pulls me closer.
Pulls me to her everytime I meet her. Her eyes ensure mine never deviates even if I fight monsters aside.
I will marry her. We would marry each other but before that I want to know what she is.I want to.. for the first time know how someone like her spends her day. I want to know if she is really what she shows or is it an alter trap by my enemies.
So I simply followed her.
Her day starts at leaving her condo at 8 am. I stood beside the newspaper vendor,a cap and mask masking me and my leather jacket from her carefree grimace.
Being a well to do model, she surely lives low-key. She walked like she owned the place, everything around her seemed like a touch from her would purify their purity to decades.
Her black goggles challenging the sun, making sure her head never lowers. Her first stop makes by a small café. She picks up a freshly baked piece of cake, a sugared coffee and walks out only to dine it with some stray cats. She was constantly talking to the cats as if they could really understand her. She didn't look like someone with less human company, for someone who smiles brighter every time her eyes meet a stranger walking on the road, she was actually lonelier than I thought she could be.
But this didn't side-line her amusement for cake. Every bite she took, her face charmed in some glory that couldn't be matched unless you call her some kind of a goddess.
Unknowingly I smiled under my mask and that cat hovering around her meowed at me.
She turned around her eyes straight away meeting mine and immediately furrowing at my strange look. I looked my blur reflection in the see through glass of the café and I really looked like some street thief. I despise you Ci N for the outfit choice.
I coughed slightly and sat on the same edge as she was sitting. She let me, didn't flinch at a stranger invading her privacy as if it could never be invaded. Like she knew how to be inside her bubble world alone.
That cat constantly tried to claw me but she held her in her hands, ruffling her fur. "Oh no baby you should not attack people without them harming you." Her voice was nothing like when I first met her or when I put forth the proposal. It had a sense of love.
Real love.
She cuddled that cat for a few minutes and walked away. I sat there until she finally left, glared at the fucking animal and grasped the piece of cake she left for the cat in her plate. I mean I was hungry, I couldn't eat breakfast to be in my special spying character.
I followed her again, she was no normal person and I can guarantee all money on it by now. She was walking as if jiggling, juggling her legs one after the other, hands in the pocket of her coat.
She smiled at an old lady gardening flowers, helped her, brought some flowers – lilies, pink roses, hibiscus, orchids. Is she auditioning to be a flower girl or what?
She stopped by a children's park and handed each one of them a colourful petalous plant in her hand. One of them kissed her cheeks and said, " I will marry you when I grow older."
What the actual fuck, she's marrying me and that too before you grow old. Kids these days need discipline. She actually smiled at him. Why are you showing your teethsy to him. Be loyal to your fiancé jasper jean.
She looked prettier than all of those flowers until a shadow galloped her.
Fred Aliston.
Jay's POV:
I was having my peaceful day with everything I liked to do until he showed up.
What does he want now?
I ignored his figure and walked away but he caught my wrist. " What is your problem? Why are you running away?" he said arrogance dripping in his voice.
"Am I running away? After you cheating on me. After you being a coward. I am the one running away? It's walking away Mr. I don't waste my time on trash and you are one of the kind. Leave me." I said not loud enough to scare children nearby but enough to gaze his soul with my motive.
"You should be grateful that I. I Fred Aliston searched for you. And here you are showing attitude?"
I was about to answer him with an equally humiliating comment but before that a voice cut us off. A deep husky voice, a large figure covering me. Shielding mw from him.
"My wife will show attitude to whoever she wants and nobody can stop her from that because her husband stands in front like an armour. Armour from people exactly like you." He said in a voice that warned storms.
His aura clearly stated, one word more and he would shave off his entire existence.
Fred flushed from anger, " Youuu…"
"Its okay Mr Aliston. You had your chance to win the most precious being you never deserved, now she's mine. And I am not stupid enough to let her go." He said his arm smoothly linked to mine. His other hand led me out.
And for the first time in years my heart fluttered. Like it never did before.
