Chapter 62 - Chapter 62 Reconnaissance

"Looks like you're going to hell today!" Ye Qiu's voice was icy.

  Sharp arrows shot out!

"Don't underestimate me! Fourth Soul Skill, Blade Qi Protection! Ha!"

Mo Dao shouted, his fourth purple soul ring flashing a dark light. He didn't pick up the greatsword embedded in the ground, but simply straightened it, tip downwards, and pressed it down.

*Poof!* He pierced the ground with the blade tip, his soul power surging, transforming into a violent blade qi that scattered in all directions.

*Clang! Clang!* Sparks flew as several arrows were deflected.

"Hehe... next..." Mo Dao looked up, grinning. The crisis was over, the advantage was in his hands!

But... when he saw Ye Qiu's mocking gaze, his words trailed off.

"Sorry, you don't have a next move!" Ye Qiu pointed at his neck, then wagged his index finger.

"Ugh!" Mo Dao's neck stiffened, and he spat out a mouthful of blood, staring in disbelief at the arrow lodged in his neck.

"This...uh cough cough." The greatsword in his hand dissipated, blood choking his throat, preventing him from making a sound. His hands, clutching his neck, couldn't stop the bleeding.

"It's easy to understand. Actually, I fired two volleys of arrows, and you only saw one!" Ye Qiu hooked his index finger, using illusion magic to conceal this simple action of flipping a switch!

With a thud, Mo Dao fell straight to the ground, his eyes wide open.

Before dying, his mind was filled with a pair of blood-red eyes with three tomoe.

Looking around the battlefield, Ye Qiu realized that using illusion magic in combat was a good option!

Those who didn't know him would easily fall for it!

After being baptized by the Blue Silver Emperor's bloodline, his mental strength had increased considerably, more than enough to deceive some inferior Soul Masters. If he used Tsukuyomi, even a newly ascended Soul King would stumble!

A green light emanated from Ye Qiu's body, coalescing into a human form, and a natural fragrance wafted from his nose.

Xiao Lan appeared in his arms.

  "Brother! Are you alright?"

She had just emerged and was already groping Ye Qiu.

"Alright! Why are you getting more and more restless?" Ye Qiu brushed her hands away.

"I was just worried about you~" she pouted, wishing she hadn't grown up yet; since her breakthrough, her brother hadn't hugged her much.

Ignoring the pouting Xiao Lan, Ye Qiu jumped off his horse with her in his arms and released the long-unseen Jade-Eyed Cloud-Winged Tiger.

The tiger was extremely affectionate towards Ye Qiu, running to him with a hint of dependence in its eyes, sticking out its tongue to wash his face, but thankfully Xiao Lan stepped in front of it and stopped it.

"Brother! Why did you choose a tigress back then?" She pressed down on the tiger's head, glaring fiercely at it, then complained to Ye Qiu with a hint of resentment in her voice.

"I wasn't thinking that much at the time. As long as I could ride it, that was enough." Ye Qiu rolled his eyes speechlessly, calmed Tiger down, and then pulled Xiao Lan onto its back.

"Alright! Let's get out of here as soon as possible. The smell of blood will attract a lot of soul beasts."

Leaning against Ye Qiu, Xiao Lan's mood improved considerably.

After Tiger had run a distance, she grabbed its ear and pulled it to a stop.

"Roar~" The Jade-Eyed Cloud-Winged Tiger let out a mournful cry.

"Xiao Lan? What's wrong with you now?" Ye Qiu looked at her in confusion.

"Brother, where are we going? Are we just going to keep walking like this?" Even though Tiger had stopped, Xiao Lan's hand still didn't let go of its ear.

"..." Xiao Lan's words left Ye Qiu stunned.

Speaking of which, which direction was the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well in? Ye Qiu had forgotten the description in the original book, only knowing that it was located inside the Sunset Forest.

Looking around, the forest stretched endlessly. Where should he begin his search?

  Ye Qiu's brows furrowed.

"Hoo~" He exhaled softly, his Sharingan activated, purple mist swirling between the three tomoe-shaped pupils.

With his current spiritual power, his field of vision was extremely limited; two thousand meters was his limit!

His vision swiftly pierced through the trees in front of him, spreading into the distance. He saw people forming teams to hunt souls, others fleeing for their lives from the pursuit of soul beasts. But there was no trace of the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Eye.

While Ye Qiu observed his surroundings, Xiao Lan stared intently at him.

"Brother Ye Qiu's eyes~ are so beautiful!"

She leaned closer, her face becoming increasingly infatuated.

Ye Qiu, focused on his surroundings, didn't notice Xiao Lan's actions. He turned and peered around again, taking in the battles between people and the infighting among soul beasts.

But he still couldn't see the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Eye.

Ye Qiu looked somewhat embarrassed. His X-ray vision did allow him to see very far, but some of the things he saw were inappropriate for children; he hadn't meant to.

His eyes were bloodshot, and he was breathing heavily. Activating his Sharingan at full power was indeed very taxing, and his mental energy was severely depleted.

"Hmm?" Ye Qiu suddenly felt a cool sensation on his cheek. He saw that Xiao Lan had turned around and pressed herself against him, wrapping her arms around his waist and clinging to him again.

There was a few drops of drool at the corner of her mouth.

"Xiao Lan!" Ye Qiu was annoyed, his face turning red with anger!

However, after calling her name, she didn't react. Instead, she tried to kiss him on the mouth again.

Pressing her forehead, Ye Qiu noticed her abnormality.

Her originally azure eyes had turned slightly pink, giving her a somewhat alluring look.

"Brother Ye Qiu~ So beautiful~" Even with her head pressed down, she wouldn't stay still, wrapping her arms around his neck and moving closer to him.

"Uh~" Seeing this familiar scene, Ye Qiu realized that this must be his eyes' fault.

Shaking his head helplessly, he could only give Xiao Lan another flick on the forehead.

"Ouch~" The misty tears in her eyes turned into tears as she blinked.

"Ouch~ That hurts!" She lowered her head, rubbing her forehead, then angrily raised her head again, "Brother! Why did you hit Xiao Lan again?"

"Look what you've done!" Ye Qiu lowered his head, looking at her, pointing to his cheek, "Tiger didn't wash my face properly, but you washed it all over!"

"I~ Xiao Lan didn't mean to!" She lowered her head, muttering softly, feeling wronged.

"Okay, put your legs down first~" Ye Qiu rubbed her head, wiping away the tears from the corners of her eyes. "Don't stare into my eyes next time."

  "Why? They're so beautiful!"

"Put your legs down first!" Ye Qiu raised his voice slightly, afraid he would look embarrassed.

"Okay, okay, brother, don't be angry~"

After she let go, Ye Qiu took a step back, and

Xiao Lan, feeling a little hot, gently straightened his slightly disheveled clothes.

  ...

The brief farce ended there. Although Ye Qiu's investigation had been fruitless, he planned to search for a while longer.
