An hour before the end of the school day, Derek returned with information.
"Boss, I got what you asked for," Derek said quietly, pulling out his phone with notes.
"Go ahead," Sebastian said, closing the book he'd been pretending to read.
"So I talked to a bunch of students, tried to be casual about it, just asking what people thought about different teachers. When I brought up Miss Sloane, everyone had the same kind of reaction."
"Which was?"
"Basically that she's amazing," Derek said, scrolling through his notes. "Like, obviously everyone mentioned that she's beautiful, half the guys in school have crushes on her. But beyond that, everyone was really consistent about one thing."
"What?"
"She's incredibly kind to her students. Like, genuinely cares about their wellbeing. She stays after school regularly to help them with homework, even subjects that aren't her speciality. She notices when students are struggling, not just academically, but personally, and reaches out to them."
