Chapter 12 - Nest

Carrying Magnar over his shoulder, Neil stopped in front of the second door on the right.

Instantly a window flashed before his eyes.

[Nest]

"So this one is a nest…"

[Nest]

[Description]: Once in every two weeks, the Nest produces a creature of a class higher than the creature whose blood has been dropped inside. Time taken is different for creatures of different classes and origins.

The artificial creature would be greatly weakened, but still produce the same loot. The cooldown also resets with each evolution of the domain.

"Oh so this is a monster generator?!!"

Neil pushed the door open and found himself standing inside an enormous white hall that stretched for hundreds of meters.

It was surprising how such a big place was inside a room, but Neil had seen quite a lot already.

He wouldn't be surprised by just this.

"I need blood, hmm… once every two weeks, would be great if I can find something to reduce that cooldown time."

Neil pondered, but wasn't this just the perfect solution to get mythic class gene points.

"So I need the blood of a Diamond class creature."

Neil was thinking until his gaze landed on Magnar, sleeping peacefully over his shoulder.

"…"

Certainly, a familiar would work as well, right?

There was only one way to check that.

Neil took Magnar back into his arms, the small kitten-like creature was sleeping without a care in the world.

"Magnar, I am going to need a drop of your blood." Neil called out but the familiar remained asleep.

Taking out the dagger from spatial storage, Neil pricked one of Magnar's paws, drawing out a couple of drops of blood.

But the wound started healing almost instantly.

Neil was surprised since his pet didn't even react at all, it was way too lazy.

Shaking his head, he put Magnar back over his shoulder, before looking around.

"Hmm there is nothing here, what am I supposed to do with this blood?"

While he was wondering, a drop fell to the ground from the tip of the knife as instantly messages popped before him.

[Blood of a Diamond Class Familiar detected!]

[Would you like to start the process of creation of a Mythic Class beast?]

"Yes!"

Just as he hoped, it worked, though he wasn't sure how he would be able to kill such a strong entity even in its weak form.

The blood disappeared in the next moment, and a thick fog started to fill the room.

[Generation in progress.]

[Time remaining: 71:59:59]

[Please exit the Nest.]

"Three days, then it would be finished by the time I return to Zoratian Planet."

Neil walked out of the Nest coughing after inhaling a little of that fog.

The door closed automatically just as he stepped out.

Now only Shop remained.

"Wait, are there creatures and domain even above mythic class? What if I drop the blood of a mythic class inside it?"

Several doubts popped in his mind.

"But even if there is something above mythic, which I doubt, this Nest wouldn't be able to create that sort of creature."

He concluded, after all, Nest's rank was mythic so that should be its limit.

But if he ever were to get a creature like that then he would certainly try it.

Few days earlier,

After the warp ship number 7 exploded, people from the Lizzard race launched an attack out of nowhere.

All the humans were already disoriented after the explosion, none from the ECO could react in time as Lizzard men kidnapped a big group of teenagers.

Though the officers fought back and even killed several Lizzard men, it seemed those creatures had already fulfilled their goal.

Without lingering around, they left hurriedly, just getting as many teenagers as possible.

The other warp ship barely had time to reach in that situation.

Seeing it all happen in front of her, Jane kept trying to call Neil but he never picked up.

Fear and pain of losing him hurt her like getting stabbed in the heart, immense pain filled her head as she fainted.

After that incident, there were no other accidents, it wasn't long before they arrived on the Zoratian planet.

As they all reached one of the human settlements there. It was a gigantic building, which seemed to be a city in itself.

All the injured teenagers were sent to the hospital, though they already received a certain level of treatment in the warp ship.

Jane was also rushed into the hospital, she hadn't woken up even after a few days, and because of her they delayed any further processes.

Tred and Robert, her grandfather and father, both stared nervously at Jane through the window.

She was sent to receive the best treatment possible, after all the tests, the doctor came to deliver news.

Although even healing had progressed by a great margin, in some matters people still preferred human doctors.

"How is she?" Robert asked, if something truly happened to her then their family will be in a big loss.

"She is currently fine, but did she receive a big shock recently?" While looking at her reports in the virtual display he asked.

"…Yes, sigh I never thought she would be so attached to that boy. But he is probably already dead…"

Tred felt his head spinning, he thought if they remained apart, their relationship would slowly weaken and then break.

But it seemed what they were doing might just have resulted in the opposite, now Tred was sure that the moment she reached the 5th Origin she would have left her family.

"This stupid brat, so what if he died, what does she even see in him? Even his parents abandoned him haa she was never this stupid before, we should have never let them–" R

obert started his rambling, looking as if he was about to go inside and slap his daughter.

"Enough, now is not the time for that." Tred knew they had made a mistake, they were too impatient in their approach.

The doctor finally gave his answer: "The shock from witnessing the traumatic event has significantly impacted her cardiovascular and neurological functions leading to her fainting.

Such profound emotional distress can have lingering effects on both her mind and heart, potentially affecting her long-term health and requiring careful monitoring and support."

After seeing the shocked expressions of the two, the doctor summarized:

"Oh so in simple terms, after this incident, trying to become a lord might endanger her life. Any emotional turbulence might be dangerous for her."

"T– There is no way such a small incident could be so fatal to her–" Tred staggered, she was the future of their family.

"She is not that weak! Are you sure you didn't make a mistake?" Robert asked, just as baffled.

After explaining in more detail, the doctor left, leaving the two.

"W– What are we going to do now? She can't even become a lord now?" Robert sat down while holding his head.

"If that kid is responsible for this then we will use him to heal her. Let's tell her that Neil is still alive and just captured by the Lizzard race, she will definitely do her best to grow then." Tred added.

"But the vitals–"

"This is the only way." Tred interrupted, waiting for Jane to wake up.

[Shop]

Neil opened the final room and walked inside, while Nemo went back into the core room to charge her new body.

Magnar was still fast asleep.

The size of this room wasn't too big, it too was completely white but there was a circular stone in the centre.

Around half a meter in diameter and 15 centimetres high.

"Why aren't there more instructions?" He climbed onto the stone as instantly a window flashed before him.
