Chapter 60 - Mochi

"Fine. But if either of you starts snoring, I'm kicking you out - furball or not."

Giyuu raises an eyebrow playfully. "Who says I snore? I'm the quietest sleeper you'll ever meet." He shifts slightly again, getting more comfortable in Sanemi's lap. "Besides, you're the one who talks in your sleep sometimes. I've heard you." Sanemi looks genuinely surprised at this revelation. "I do not! What do I even say?" Giyuu smirks and lowers his voice to a teasing whisper.

"You mostly say my name. Sometimes you complain about demons, but mostly... it's my name." Sanemi's cheeks flush slightly, though he tries to maintain his tough demeanor. "I do not dream about you. That's ridiculous." Mochi watches their interaction with what seems like amusement from her perch on the bed. Giyuu snuggles closer to Sanemi, resting his head against his chest. "Sure, keep telling yourself that. I've heard you call my name at least three times." Sanemi wraps his arms around Giyuu protectively, trying to hide his embarrassment.

"Shut up. At least I don't talk about kittens in my sleep." Mochi yawns dramatically, as if to mock Sanemi's denial. Giyuu laughs softly, the sound vibrating against Sanemi's chest. "Kittens? Really? That's what you're going with?" He pokes Sanemi playfully in the ribs. "Next you'll be saying I talk about Mochi's beautiful fur or something."

Sanemi tries to maintain his grumpy expression but fails, a smile tugging at his lips. "You're impossible. Both of you are." Giyuu tilts his head up and presses his lips gently against Sanemi's, their kiss soft and sweet. Sanemi responds by deepening the kiss slightly, one hand coming up to cup Giyuu's cheek. Mochi, observing this from the bed, gives a disgruntled meow, clearly not pleased with being ignored. Giyuu pulls back from the kiss with a small laugh, still close enough that their foreheads touch.

"Looks like someone's jealous." Sanemi glances at Mochi, who is now sitting up and staring at them with what appears to be judgment in her eyes. "Maybe we should give her some attention too. Before she decides to scratch us both." He reluctantly releases Giyuu and gestures toward the cat. "Come on, furball. Don't be dramatic." Mochi stands up and stretches, then jumps down from the bed with surprising grace.

Giyuu reaches out to pet her as she approaches. "See? She's not that bad. Just needs some love too." Sanemi rolls his eyes but reaches down to scratch behind Mochi's ears. "Yeah, yeah. I guess I can share you with a cat." Mochi purrs loudly at the attention, rubbing against both of their legs. "She's warming up to you," *Giyuu observes with a smile.* "I told you she wasn't so bad." Sanemi scoffs but continues petting her.

"Don't get used to it, cat. I'm still not a fan of surprises." Mochi looks up at him with what seems like a knowing expression, as if saying 'we'll see about that.' Giyuu yawns, the events of the day finally catching up to him. "We should probably get ready for bed. It's getting late." He reluctantly stands up from Sanemi's lap, stretching his arms above his head.

"And someone needs to clean up those bowls." Mochi immediately claims the now-empty spot on Sanemi's lap, making herself comfortable again. "Looks like I'm stuck with dish duty," Sanemi grumbles, though he makes no move to dislodge the cat. Giyuu collects the empty food containers and throws them away, while Sanemi continues to pet Mochi. "At least we have a cat to keep us company tonight. Even if she's a stowaway."

He starts heading toward the bathroom to brush his teeth. "Don't let her sleep on your pillow again. She'll make it smell like cat food." Sanemi glances at the pillow with suspicion. "Too late. She already marked it." Giyuu returns from the bathroom, his toothbrush in hand. "I told you she was claiming territory. Maybe we should buy her some catnip to keep her distracted." He leans against the doorframe, watching Sanemi struggle with the persistent cat.

"Or just let her be. She's pretty adorable when she's not causing trouble." Mochi purrs louder, as if agreeing with Giyuu's assessment. Sanemi finally manages to stand up, gently moving Mochi to the side. "She's a menace. And don't you dare suggest I'm adorable too." He heads to the bathroom to brush his teeth, grumbling under his breath about 'cat thieves.' Mochi trots after him, weaving between his legs as he walks. "See? She's already attached to you," Giyuu calls out teasingly. Sanemi emerges from the bathroom with a frustrated expression.

"She followed me in there! I couldn't even wash my face without her staring at me." He flops down on the bed, careful to avoid the cat pillow. "I'm not sharing a bed with her tonight. She can have the floor." Mochi jumps onto the bed anyway, settling between them with a satisfied look. "Too late for that too," Giyuu says with a grin, sliding into his side of the bed. "Looks like you're outnumbered, Sanemi."

Sanemi glares at both Giyuu and Mochi, who are now cuddled together on the bed. "I'm being double-teamed by a cat and my roommate. This is ridiculous." He pulls the blanket over himself, leaving Mochi and Giyuu exposed to the cool air. "Fine. Have it your way. But don't complain when I steal the blanket in the middle of the night." Mochi meows indignantly at the blanket move, while Giyuu laughs and reaches for an extra blanket.

"Goodnight, Sanemi. Sweet dreams of kittens." Sanemi sighs dramatically but wraps his arms around both Giyuu and Mochi, pulling them closer. "I hate both of you right now." Despite his words, there's a hint of affection in his voice as he settles into the warm cuddle pile. Mochi purrs contentedly between them, her small body radiating warmth. Giyuu snuggles into Sanemi's chest, feeling safe and happy. "We love you too," Giyuu whispers sleepily, already drifting off.
