Days turned to weeks and weeks to months but her father continued drinking,he even transferred his anger on her sometimes blaming her for the death of his wife.
If you had not suggested that stupid picnic my wife would still be alive "you're nothing but a bad luck that should have been aborted before you could come to this world" her father would say to her.
Sometimes she thought it was her fault too but her father should be consoling her not rubbing it on her face that she was the reason her mother died.
One day after Mr Reed came home drunk as usual he brought a woman with him and was screaming at the top of his lungs that since he can't get his wife back he'll just have fun till he dies.

Mr Reed got married to Vivian whom he claimed was carrying a child for him and not long after they got married he sent all the helps away and said that Vanessa has to work if she wants to continue her education and wants to get every basic thing she needs to survive.

She was already doing the dishes ,cleaning the house and other chores.
Her stepmother would beat her when her father goes to work and if she complains about it instead of him to reprimand Vivian he would blame Vanessa for being disobedient and disrespectful and that Vivian is only trying to make her better.
