Chapter 3 - Chapter 3? What? A dark sorcerer invades Kamar-Taj?

Listening to Mordo's self-proclaimed joke, Sharlot's mouth twitched uncontrollably.

"No, buddy!"

"Do you really want me to die so badly?"

"The reason I gave just now was good enough, right?"

"And you still want me to continue casting Portal magic?"

"If I really cast Hell's Gate later, I'm afraid you won't be swallowing ten thousand needles, but throwing ten thousand needles at me!"

"Do you really want me to die here today?"

Sharlot took a deep breath.

Seeing that this matter was unavoidable, he made a plan in his heart.

After casting Hell's Gate later, he would find an opportunity to escape.

Otherwise, staying foolishly in Kamar-Taj would only lead to him being chopped into mincemeat by Mordo.

So, Sharlot held his left hand flat in front of his chest, and his right hand, wearing the Sling Ring, slowly drew a circle in the air.

He once again began to cast the Dark Magic of Hell's Gate.

Watching the large swathes of eerie green sparks appearing in the void, Mordo nodded with satisfaction.

Indeed, just as he had expected, Sharlot had thoroughly mastered Portal magic early on.

With such terrifying magic talent, it seemed that in just a few years, Sharlot would be able to become a Great Sorcerer.

And like him, he would go to the battlefield to drive away Dark Creatures from the Dark Dimension.

Thinking that in the future, when he faced Dark Creatures from the Dark Dimension, he would have someone with terrifying magic talent like Sharlot beside him, whose future strength would only be higher, Sorcerer Mordo couldn't help but relax a lot.

"Indeed!"

"Bringing Sharlot into Kamar-Taj was the correct choice!"

"It seems that in the future, he and I will definitely become good partners in fighting Dark Creatures from the Dark Dimension!"

Just as Mordo was thinking this, as Sharlot continued to cast magic, a Hell's Gate, four meters high, three meters wide, and with a green frame, appeared before everyone's eyes.

Green ghostly flames continuously swirled around Hell's Gate.

And through the other end of Hell's Gate, one could see a crimson sky, with countless terrifying and oddly shaped Dark Creatures flapping their wings in the air.

As soon as Hell's Gate appeared in Kamar-Taj, all the Sorcerers present couldn't help but tremble with fear in their hearts.

Especially one or two Apprentice Sorcerers with weaker psychological resilience.

When their eyes met the scarlet eyes of the Dark Creatures from the Dark Dimension on the other side of Hell's Gate, they immediately wet themselves.

The more severe ones directly fainted.

And Sorcerer Mordo, who had just held great expectations for Sharlot, was completely stunned.

He stared at Hell's Gate before him, feeling the dense power of the Dark Dimension and the bone-chilling cold.

His mouth was wide open in shock, enough to fit a pebble.

His finger, pointing at Sharlot, trembled uncontrollably.

"You, you, you, you... this is Dark Magic!"

"Are you a Dark Magician!???"

Looking at everyone's astonished reactions, Sharlot's mind was left with only one thought—

"It's over! Time to run, brothers!"

However, escaping also required skill.

Blindly running was no different from seeking death.

After realizing this, Sharlot pretended to be a clueless young man, speaking with a clear and foolish tone of confusion.

"Huh? Master Brother Mordo, what are you talking about? What Dark Magic? Isn't this just the most basic Portal magic?"

Looking at Sharlot's innocent and clueless expression, Mordo's mouth twitched as he retorted frantically.

"What the heck is a Portal!?

Does your Portal look like this!??

We can already see the Dark Creatures from another Dark Dimension through this gate!

And you still say this isn't Dark Magic!?

And you still say you're not a Dark Magician!??

Do you really think I'm a three-year-old child!?"

After hearing Mordo's retort, Sharlot remained calm and continued to say, "But I really followed the Portal magic book you gave me step by step."

"If you don't believe me, I'll open another Portal for you to see."

As he spoke, Sharlot drew a circle with his right hand.

Another Hell's Gate, equally filled with chilling aura, radiating menacing energy, and strangely large, reappeared before everyone.

And this Hell's Gate seemed to open even closer within the Dark Dimension than the previous one.

Those massive and bizarre Dark Creatures were only a glance away from the Apprentice Sorcerers present.

Some people could even hear the breathing of the Dark Creatures from the other side, causing goosebumps to rise.

They struggled to keep themselves from fainting.

Watching Sharlot casually cast another Hell's Gate, Mordo's eyebrow twitched violently.

He quickly said, "Alright, alright, this isn't Dark Magic, quickly stop opening it."

Upon hearing this, Sharlot finally lowered his hand, looking like an honest person, awaiting Mordo's final decision.

And seeing Sharlot's honest demeanor, Mordo couldn't help but feel confused.

"Hmm—could it be that Sharlot really isn't a Dark Magician? Does he really not know he's using Dark Magic?"

"After all, no Dark Magician would be so foolish as to directly run to Kamar-Taj to cast Dark Magic, and then stand there dumbfounded without any resistance."

"Isn't that just pure suicide!?"

Dark Magicians are different from White Mages.

White Mages believe in the Vishanti, a trinity of gods, including the all-powerful Oshtur, the all-seeing Agamotto, and the ancient Hoggoth.

They use magic in a lending model; though the cost is small, the effects of the White magic they can use are also small, suitable for sustainable development.

But Dark Magicians are different.

They often believe in Dark Creatures from the Dark Dimension.

Although the magic lending comes at a great cost, the effects produced by Dark Magic are also great!

These Dark Magicians are loyal followers of those Dark Creatures from the Dark Dimension!

Some Dark Creatures from the Dark Dimension find it difficult to descend upon Earth, so they choose these Dark Magicians as their agents in the human world!

They do evil deeds for them, disrupting the peace of Earth!

Therefore, in the eyes of the Sorcerers of Kamar-Taj, Dark Magicians have long since fallen, becoming on par with Dark Creatures from the Dark Dimension.

When encountering a Dark Magician, one must deal with them in the same way one deals with Dark Creatures from the Dark Dimension.

Either you die, or I live!

So, any Dark Magician with a bit of sense would never come to Kamar-Taj, the stronghold of White Mages.

After all, what's the difference between such an act and a lamb entering a tiger's den?

Thinking this, Mordo couldn't help but carefully observe Sharlot before him.

After confirming that the other party genuinely seemed to know nothing, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

He speculated in his heart, "Perhaps... Sharlot encountered some problem while cultivating the Portal?"

"As long as he is carefully guided, he can still be brought back on track in time?"

"However... to be able to comprehend the Portal to this extent in less than ten minutes, this magic talent is simply too overpowered!"

"Furthermore, Sharlot's transformation of White magic Portal into Dark Magic is an unprecedented situation!"

"It seems I need to discuss this matter with Sorcerer Ancient One!"

Thinking this, Mordo didn't care about anything else.

He hurried towards the main hall.

And watching Mordo's hurried retreating figure, Sharlot waited a while longer, making sure Mordo wasn't playing a trick.

Then, a slight curve appeared at the corner of Sharlot's mouth.

"Finally!"

"I finally fooled Mordo!"

"So what are we waiting for? Time to run, brothers!"

So, Sharlot, without another word, strode towards Hell's Gate and disappeared from everyone's sight.
