He charged at me as I did the same, every attack was met with deflection. It wasn't a battle of strength, but endurance. A chop to the throat ended with him grabbing my wrist and twisting it. He tried to hit me with a jab to the liver but I grabbed his wrist too. I couldn't see his eyes, there was nothing but darkness underneath that mask. The stagnation in our battle made the noise of the realm more prominent. The quiet drips, the sound waves just barely caressing my earlobe. The sound waves were so weak they could only reach one ear. In one end and out the other. There was nothing to do other than stare and focus on the vast darkness around us.
There is only one question, quite a simple one. Who made this realm? Who decided I was supposed to be here? Who is this boy with the mask? Am I being punished? Am I too weak to defeat this boy? Am I gonna die? I don't want to die. I want to leave. I want to make it out of here.
The boy in the mask finally spoke, his voice was scratchy…but understandable. "But do you want to live?" My eyes widened and my shoulders relaxed, and in that instant blood shot from his wrist and hardened into a pair of scissors. And he lunged at my throat, but I caught it with my left hand. I squeezed it so tightly the blood coming from my hand flowed out like water. The blade got closer and closer to my throat. The thoughts of death finally came to my mind.
I desperately shot the blood coming from my hand into the void. No one's gonna help me. It's over. And finally…the scissors dug into my throat. The void consumed the bloody pool on the floor. I…want…help. "HEY!" I turned my head to see Ambika peaking through the void.
The sound of a screeching bird rang through my head as Ambika repeatedly punched on the little space in the void. Her screaming is only barely being heard through the void. The void began to crack, more and more until BOOM. Ambika came falling into the void. She reached for me with black feathers falling along with her. I reached my arm out to touch her one last time. "JOHN!" She screamed one last time before touching my hand.
The screams of a bird and the rain of white feathers fell as I touched my throat and found myself in another dimension, one full of webs and spiders. I looked around for Ambika but couldn't find her, only white and black feathers scattered across the floor.
