Eugene was at a loss for words.
Honestly, it wasn't the first time an alpha put their scent on him. If anything, he had asked some of his alpha acquaintances--those he already knew and kind of trusted to some extent--to put their scent on him as a way of protection. Some would think he was an alpha because of the scent, and some would think he had an alpha already.
Kind of like a fake wedding ring, in a sense.
He had never, however, had an alpha scenting him without his knowledge. Moreover, he had no idea what the intention behind it was.
Rather than replying to Arthur's question about his intention on dating, Eugene asked the alpha all kinds of questions about scenting itself. Perhaps because he realized Eugene was clueless about the whole ordeal, Arthur gradually calmed down.
At least, it didn't seem like Eugene was out of his grasp yet.
