Elijah's lashes fluttered again. "No one?"
"No one but myself," Eugene said casually.
The truth was...this was probably one of the things he was most afraid to reveal to his readers. Getting praised for your work wasn't always a good thing, because now Eugene felt like he had a moral obligation to be a voice.
"I told you, I wrote this story when I revisited my old journal. When I fixed all the gibberish, deciphering the scribbles and doodles I made, and reshaped it into a more coherent train of thought, it was like...decoding my own mind, and realizing that I had changed," he explained. "If I have to be honest, this story was never meant to be out in the first place."
"What?" Elijah's eyes widened in shock; even his body turned in his seat to face Eugene instead of the audience. "Why? How come?"
