Chapter 3 - Chapter three:The Day I Lost My Brother.

This…

This was the day I lost my brother.

All because of power.

All because he was controlled by the most dangerous villain in history—the same monster the Four Heroes fought two centuries ago. A villain who never truly died.

Even after the heroes sacrificed their lives, they could only wound him. They couldn't destroy him—not with the Seika he carried.

Shinkai.

The Seika that allowed him to steal other abilities… and erase them from people entirely. A Seika that let him regenerate. Survive. Continue. And wait.

But before they died, the Four Heroes forged one final power—

Tenshinkai.

A Seika holding fragments of all four of their abilities, growing stronger every year, waiting for its destined wielder.

Shigure—the undying villain—wanted it.

And for that reason…

He captured my brother.

He turned Ryusei into a puppet.

He made him hurt us.

Destroy us.

And I…

I couldn't save him.

When Shizuka realized Ryusei was missing, panic hit her instantly. She sent every guard available to search with her.

I stayed behind with my little sister, trying to calm her because ryusei wasn't around hands.

"Brother… why isn't Ryusei coming back?" she whispered.

"Hey, don't worry," I said, forcing a smile I didn't feel. "Everything is fine. He'll be here soon."

But I was lying.

Inside, my heart wouldn't stop pounding.

Something was wrong. Something big.

Mom was out searching, questioning people, desperate for answers.

And on the other side of the hill…

Ryusei stood with five shadowy figures behind him—Shigure's puppets, each radiating a sinister killing intent. They waited for the perfect moment.

They attacked when the strongest person in the mansion—Shizuka—was gone.

BOOM!!!

The entire mansion shook as an explosion tore through the right wing. Flames burst through windows. Screams echoed everywhere.

The five figures charged in. And at the front…

A man wearing a mask.

My brother.

But I didn't know that yet.

"What—what's happening?!" I gasped.

"Brother… I'm scared…"

My sister grabbed my hand, trembling.

"Stay behind me. Don't move from here."

My heart was beating like a war drum.

People panicked. Workers ran. Guests screamed. Everything descended into chaos.

I stepped forward, glaring at the masked leader.

"HEY!" I shouted. "What do you want?! Why are you attacking us?!"

The masked man slowly turned to me.

His voice was deep. Cold.

"Where is the Tenshinkai?"

"Tenshinkai…? What are you talking about?"

"If you don't know," he said, "then you're useless to me… weakling."

My fists clenched.

"What did you say?!"

He ignored me and gestured to his puppets.

"Search. Anything unusual—bring it to me."

They dashed off immediately, tearing the mansion apart, smashing walls, hurting anyone they found. They were looking for the Tenshinkai.

And suddenly… dread hit me.

They attacked while Mom was gone…

The guards are out searching…

The mansion is defenseless…

"And they might be connected to Ryusei's disappearance…"

The thought hit me so hard I almost collapsed.

"Brother… I'm scared… and where is big brother? Where is Mom?"

She started crying.

"Hey, everything will be okay. I promise."

I hugged her tightly as I pulled out my phone.

I sent Mom a message as quickly as I could. I tried calling the nearby heroes—

FWOOOSH!!

A sudden gust of wind blasted the phone from my hand.

"What—?! That wind—"

The masked man chuckled.

"I remembered something… your sister possesses Dual Manifestation. Only one Seika has awakened so far. But the other—"

He pointed at her.

"She just might be the host of the Tenshinkai."

My blood ran cold.

"Don't you dare come near her!" I growled.

"You're in my way."

His voice sharpened.

He stepped toward us.

I had no choice. No time. No plan.

I have to fight him.

Wind spiraled around my hands and legs. I dashed forward with everything I had—

But he moved faster.

BOOM!!!

His fist slammed into my stomach with brutal precision. The air exploded out of my lungs. Blood burst from my mouth.

But he didn't stop.

Flames enveloped his palm—

He had fire too.

And then—

BAAANG!!

He blasted me through multiple walls. My body rolled across the ground, broken, shaking, barely conscious.

"Heh. Pathetic."

He stepped over me and approached my sister.

"BROTHER!!" she screamed.

I tried—

I really tried—

But I couldn't move.

Wind… and fire…

He had two Seikas.

"Great," he said. "A Dual Manifestation user. Even better."

"No… don't…" I whispered.

But then something ignited inside me.

I don't know what it was. Fear? Rage? Desperation?

Wind gathered around me—

Stronger than ever before.

I pushed off the ground—

DASH!!!

I shot forward faster than he expected—

My fist smashed into his mask, cracking it and tearing it off. He flew back, face bleeding.

I grabbed my sister and tried to run—

But suddenly, my body froze.

"What—?!"

My limbs wouldn't move. My muscles locked up.

He had another Seika—

Telekinesis.

He held out his glowing blue hand, smirking.

"You bastard!!" I shouted.

"That's right," he said darkly. "I'm no two-Seika user… I'm much more."

He lifted me telekinetically and slammed me into the wall.

I collapsed, barely breathing.

"Get out of my way, Nozomi," he said coldly.

And then I saw his face.

"…Ryusei…" I whispered.

My brother didn't hesitate.

He walked to our sister and placed his palm on her head.

"Brother!! Please stop!!" she cried.

Tears streamed down her face.

"I don't care if you're my sister," Ryusei said. "I need the Tenshinkai. Don't make this harder."

A glowing blue aura began flowing out of her and into his hand—

He was absorbing her power.

"No… stop… STOP!!" I screamed.

But I couldn't move.

Suddenly—

CRAAAAASH!!!

A figure burst through the wall with blinding speed.

Ryusei barely had time to look before—

WHAM!!

A kick slammed into his neck and sent him crashing across the room.

"M-Mom…" I gasped.

"Stay down," Shizuka commanded. "You're hurt. And your sister—"

She lifted the unconscious girl into her arms.

"She's alive… but weak."

She laid her gently on the ground and glared at Ryusei.

"I can't believe my own son would do this…"

Ryusei laughed bitterly as he stood back up.

"Well, well… Mother appears."

He stretched his neck and smirked.

"You took down my puppets. Impressive. They were B-Rank—your level. And you still beat them."

Shizuka's eyes narrowed.

"What happened to you? What have you become?"

"Why do you care?" he snapped. "I'm not a child. I'm here for one thing—Tenshinkai. Give it to me… and I'll let you live."

Shizuka froze.

"You… you know about the Tenshinkai?"

"So you do know," Ryusei grinned.

"Then hand it over."

"What did he do to you…?" she whispered.

He snarled.

"I don't need your sympathy, Mother."

Power erupted around him—

Red flames.

Wind spirals.

Telekinetic blue energy.

He had multiple Seikas inside him.

Shizuka exhaled slowly.

"…As a hero… and as your mother… I have no choice."

She stepped forward, aura rising.

"I have to stop you."

Ryusei smirked.

"And you call yourself my mother. This will be fun."

Their auras collided—

A mother and her son.

A hero and a fallen one.

A battle for the Tenshinkai.
