Chapter 25 - Chapter Twenty Five: Period.

April's POV:

Festival Day 4 – April vs Humanity

The campus looked like a glitter bomb exploded.

Music blasting.

People screaming.

Confetti flying.

And I?

I was sitting on the bench like a villain observing the world.

"Why is everyone so loud?" I muttered.

Yuri glanced at me. "It's a festival."

"It's a festival, not a bear mating ritual."

He blinked. "That's… specific."

Another cramp hit.

I froze. "Don't," I warned the universe.

The universe did not listen. I slowly leaned forward, pressing my stomach.

Yuri stared at me. "…You good?"

"Fantastic," I said flatly. "Never been better. Love life. Love people. Love noise."

At that exact moment, someone screamed into a microphone.

I closed my eyes.

"Who gave them a mic?" I whispered. "I just wanna talk."

Keifer jogged over. "APRIL!—"

I slowly turned my head toward him.

He stopped mid-sentence.

"…Never mind," he said, backing away like I was radioactive.

"Smart boy," I muttered.

Yuri sat beside me carefully. "You're scaring the legendary Keifer."

"Good. Builds character."

Another cramp.

I inhaled sharply.

Yuri's eyes narrowed. "…Ah."

"Don't 'ah' me."

"So that's why you tried to fight the balloon earlier."

"It was looking at me teasing."

He nodded seriously. "Of course it was."

A group nearby started chanting loudly.

I covered my ears. "Why are they chanting like they're summoning something?"

"School spirit."

"Spirit can come back after 3 days."

Yuri snorted.

I glared at him. "Why are you laughing? This is suffering."

"You threatened a cotton candy machine five minutes ago."

"It deserved it."

He pulled something from his pocket and dropped it into my lap.

Chocolate.

I stared at it.

"…Why do you carry emergency chocolate?"

"Experience," he said calmly.

I narrowed my eyes. "You planned this."

"You've been in war mode since 8 AM."

I sighed dramatically and opened the chocolate. "Fine. But if anyone talks to me, I'm filing a complaint."

"Against?"

"Existence."

Yuri leaned back, watching the chaos. "You're dramatic."

"I'm in pain."

"You're dramatic in pain."

I pointed at him with the chocolate. "Keep talking. See what happens."

He smirked. "What? You'll threaten me?"

"I'll use you as a punching bag." I threatened.

JAYJAY'S POV:

I froze the moment I saw it.

Yuri's arms were wrapped around April's shoulders, holding her carefully. Small, subtle movements, his thumbs massaging her tense muscles… and she looked… grumpy. Really grumpy. Like the world had personally wronged her.

"…Wait," I muttered under my breath. My brain clicked. The cramps, the mood swings, the tiny sighs she kept muffling into his chest…

Oh.

She was on her period.

I tried to keep calm. Tried. But then her eyebrows shot down, lips pressing into a firm line, and I realised grumpy April is chaos embodied.

Should I ask if she's okay?

"Ooh…" I whispered, backing a step.

Before I could even breathe, a shadow loomed behind me.

"Jayjay~"

Keifer. Calm, casual… creeping.

I jumped and swung my bag instinctively. WHAM! It hit him square in the chest.

He staggered back a step, hands in the air. "Jayjay!" he exclaimed.

I groaned. "What do you want?!"

Keifer sighed like the weight of the world had just fallen on him. "Just… checking on April… clearly she needs… more… peace, and sleep." He trailed off, eyes darting toward her grumpy, red-cheeked face, then slowly shuffled over to her.

I relaxed slightly, letting him go. Honestly… he handled it better than I could've.

April still glared at the world but visibly softened as Keifer knelt slightly, giving her the small comfort she apparently needed.

"OOOOOOHHHHH!"

Ci-N, of course. Dramatic as ever, waving his arms as if he'd just discovered the meaning of life. He spotted my bag. "Chocolates!"

I groaned and crossed my arms. "Oi! Those are mine, Ci-N!"

He ignored me completely and shared sweets with April, who was sitting perfectly calm with Yuri's arms still around her.

April's face lit up… well, as lit up as grumpy-period-April could manage. She plucked a chocolate and popped it into her mouth with a tiny grin.

Then, in her classic April-fashion, she handed me two chocolates and Ci-N one.

She shrugged, a little smirk tugging at her lips. "Mhm. Friends share. You know what? Scratch that. Family shares."

I shook my head, muttering under my breath, but secretly… secretly, I love that I'm in Section E without.. fights like the past.

Yuri just hummed softly, still massaging April's shoulders, smirking faintly. No words. No drama. Just… them. Cozy chaos.

And, yeah.. We all sat down.

"Wait.." April murmured, "I.. forgot my guitar home, didn't I..."

SHIT....
