Chapter 21 - Chapter 21:The Unexpected Ally

Ariana's words hung in the air, leaving Bright, Clair, and Victor stunned. Who was this mysterious woman, and what did she want from them?

"What do you mean, you've been watching me?" Bright asked, his voice firm.

Ariana's smile grew wider. "I mean, I've been following your progress, Bright. I've been watching you from the shadows, waiting for the right moment to make contact."

Clair's eyes narrowed. "Why? What do you want from us?"

Ariana's expression turned serious. "I want to help you, Clair. I want to help you bring down the Order."

Victor's eyes widened. "You're not with the Order?"

Ariana shook her head. "No, I'm not. I'm a rogue agent, working outside the Order's control. I've been searching for a way to take them down, and I think you've given me the key."

Bright's mind was racing. Could they trust her? Was she telling the truth?

"What makes you think you can trust us?" he asked, his voice cautious.

Ariana's eyes locked onto his. "I know about your past, Bright. I know about your father, and what happened to him. I know you're not just a pawn in this game, you're a player."

Bright's heart skipped a beat. How did she know about his father?

Clair's expression was skeptical. "What do you want from us, Ariana?"

Ariana's eyes gleamed with determination. "I want to join forces, Clair. I want to help you take down the Order, and bring its leaders to justice."

Victor's eyes narrowed. "What makes you think we need your help?"

Ariana's smile was cold. "Because, Victor, you're in over your heads. The Order is a powerful enemy, and they won't go down without a fight. You need my expertise, my resources, and my connections if you're going to succeed."

Bright's mind was racing. Could they trust her? Was she telling the truth?

"We'll consider it," he said, his voice firm.

Ariana nodded, her eyes gl gleaming with amusement. "I expected as much. I'll be in touch, Bright. Don't make any moves without me."

And with that, she disappeared into the shadows, leaving Bright, Clair, and Victor staring after her in stunned silence.

"What do you think?" Clair asked, her voice low.

Bright's expression was thoughtful. "I think we should hear her out. We could use an ally, especially one with her expertise."

Victor nodded, his eyes narrowed. "But we need to be careful. We don't know what her angle is."

Clair's expression was grim. "We'll be careful, Victor. But we can't afford to ignore this opportunity. Let's hear her out, and see what she has to offer."

Bright nodded, his heart pounding in his chest. This could be the break they needed to take down the Order. But it could also be a trap, one that could get them all killed.

As they stood there, trying to process what had just happened, Bright's phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out, and saw a text message from an unknown number.

"Meet me at the old clock tower at midnight. Come alone. -Ariana"

Bright's eyes widened as he showed the message to Clair and Victor.

"What do you think?" he asked, his voice low.

Clair's expression was cautious. "I think you should go, but we'll be watching from a distance."

Victor nodded, his eyes narrowed. "We'll make sure you're safe, Bright."

Bright nodded, his heart pounding in his chest. He was ready to take on the Order, but he wasn't sure if he was ready for whatever Ariana had in store for him.

As they made their way to the clock tower, Bright couldn't shake the feeling that he was walking into a trap. But he knew he had to take the risk. He had to know what Ariana wanted from him.

When they arrived at the clock tower, Ariana was waiting for him, her eyes gleaming with amusement.

"Welcome, Bright," she said, her voice low and husky. "I've been waiting for you."

Bright's eyes narrowed, his heart pounding in his chest. What was she going to do?

Ariana stepped closer, her eyes locked onto his. "I know you have questions, Bright. And I'm here to answer them. But first, let me show you something."

She pulled out a small device from her pocket, and pressed a button. A holographic image appeared in front of them, showing a group of people in black robes, gathered around a table.

Bright's eyes widened as he recognized the people in the image. They were the leaders of the Order.

"What is this?" he asked, his voice firm.

Ariana's expression was cold. "This is the inner circle of the Order. These are the people who are pulling the strings, who are controlling the city from behind the scenes."

Bright's mind was racing. This was it. This was the evidence they needed to take down the Order.

"What do you want from me, Ariana?" he asked, his voice low.

Ariana's eyes locked onto his. "I want you to join me, Bright. I want you to help me take down the Order, and bring its leaders to justice."

Bright's heart was pounding in his chest. This was a risk, but it was one he was willing to take.

"I'm in," he said, his voice firm.

Ariana's smile was cold. "I knew I could count on you, Bright. Let's get started."

She handed him a small device, and Bright's eyes widened as he saw what it was.

"This is a backdoor into the Order's system," Ariana explained. "With this, we can access all of their plans, all of their secrets. We can bring them down, Bright."

Bright's heart was racing. This was it. This was the moment they had been waiting for.

But as he looked at Ariana, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to her plan. That there was something she wasn't telling him.

"What is it, Ariana?" he asked, his voice cautious.

Ariana's smile was cold. "There's just one more thing, Bright. One more thing you need to know."

She paused, her eyes locked onto his.

"The Order has a mole, Bright. Someone close to you. Someone who has been feeding them information, and helping them stay one step ahead."

Bright's eyes widened as he realized what she was saying.

"Who is it?" he asked, his voice low.

Ariana's eyes gleamed with intensity.

"It's Victor," she said, her voice cold. "Victor is the mole, Bright. He's been working with the Order all along."

Bright's world spun around him. Victor, the mole? It couldn't be true.

But as he looked at Victor, he saw the truth in his eyes.

It was true.
