My mother and had just move to a whole new location in a whole new city with hopes for a fresh start. The popularity I had gained was almost nauseating, so much so, that I could not even look out the window in peace.
Now the curtains have opened to unvail a somewhat new experience.
"Mother!" I called out.
"I am heading out."
"Okay honey, should I get the chauffeur?" She inquired.
"There's no need, it's merely a brisk walk around the neighborhood," I replied.
"Alright but be careful, people aren't always friendly to an unfamiliar face,"she warned sturnly.
Inspite of her best efforts in discouraging me, I left anyway. The neighborhood we moved into was nothing short of a mish-mash of mansions and high class homes, my mother and I fit in perfectly.
My mother is a single lady still at the peak of both wealth and beauty, however, she is still rather clumsy. Not to mention she has mad her vocation to spoil me.
Lost in abstract thought, I found myself in a place contrary to the beautiful and expensive houses that I saw some time back. It then became awfully clear I wonder off into another neighbourhood, one that seemed more than a little bit sketchy.
"What do we have here," someone said from my rear.
"This one looks important,"said another person that walked right up in front of me.
I then noticed that there where more people lerking in the shadows waiting desperately to pounce on any one who would stick out.
Unfortunately for me, given the ghetto like feel of the area, I was sticking out like a sore thumb.
"What's the matter princess, are u lost," said the one who appeared to be their leader.
There where about six men plus their leader and slowly they the circled me.
"Listen up, so it's real easy for u pretty boy u give us something that will calm us down and we let u go, sound fair?" Their leader said to me.
"That's any interesting offer, and if I refuse?" I replied.
"Well, if that's your decision then u can't blame me for what happens next," said their leader.
"well at least I gave you a chance to choose," he continued.
I put my fist up and lowered myself into a stance.
One of the goons came at me from behind with a floppy left-hook. Quick and precise, I leened to the side and drove my elbow into his jaw leaving him immobile.
Another came at me with a similar uproach, I evaded him and gave him a knife hand to the back of the neck rendering him unconscious.
The remaining three thought to attack in tandem which would have worked against an average Joe.
Sadly enough zero multiplied by three is still zero.
However, one thing did put me off, for whatever the reason the leader chose to watch from the sidelines as I ragdolled his minions. One might think he was a coward merely hiding behind his goons, I had never been so wrong.
The moment the last of his goons dropped to the ground the ground, the big man himself stepped in. Even though it was somewhat of a cheap shot the blow he gave me knoked the wind out of my lungs and left me gasping for air. Powerless to even stand my ground, I fell to one knee. The man knocked me to the ground with a thrust kick to my chest. With my back against the floor I had practically lost this battle. Quickly the goons that where still conscious took the opportunity and stomped me into the ground.
The future was looking grimm and an escape was impossible. As I was about to lose all hope a light appeared at the end my pitch black tunnel. A maiden she was, a tall one at that. She wore a deep red hoodie and a jean short so small that one could be reported for public indecency. She had dull red hair done in somewhat of a pony tail with bangs split in the middle.
The girl maid short work of the goons and their leader and decided to leave with a single world.
"Wait," I called out.
She stopped at my call and turned to face me.
"Thank you, at the very least may I please know the name of the heroin that saved my life," I said.
"Piss off cupcake, you don't belong these parts." She said to me as she walked away with her hands in the pocket.
I was stunned, the way she looked at me left me puzzled. For a reason unknown to mean she seemed to detest me. This might as well be the first time someone has looked at me with that level of resentment in their eyes, how interesting!
